Ezi Dri Snackmaker Drier Questions & Answers
I got a unit of Ultra FD1000 from one seller in Melbourne last year at EBAY. When I started using it, I could not adjust the timer. This morning the off/on button didnt work, so were the temperature and timer. Pls advise what could have happened. TQ
I recently purchased the Ezidri snackmaker FD500 digital. Everything went well until I tried to take the dried peas corn and carrots out. They dropped into the middle when taking the mesh off and now I cannot get them out. I have tried shaking it upside down but I think it will happen again. I think I would like a refund!
Soooo, you want a refund for dropping food inside the unit ?
Can I put the racks in to a dishwasher for cleaning
Yes. Best way to clean though for me is a big tub so fully covered in warm water with bicarb soda and dish washing liquid, let soak a long time then scrub brush the racks. Bicarb loosens all the dried parts stuck to the racks then into the dishwasher.
Hi everyone hope you are all well can somebody help me with the electrical connections for a PCB to fit an 2006 fd500 (6 connections)

Hi my ezidri snack Maker will not change temperature it is on low dose anyone know why this might be I am in the NT is there a service agent hear thank you in advance
Mine does the same thing. Leave it on for 5 - 10 minutes on low, it will then let you change to medium or high.
I bought this model years ago and it's been sitting unused for a long time, but I want to get into making tempeh and using this as an incubator. I've got my first batch going, and have just taken its temperature and found it's sitting at 38C after a few hours on the Low setting, which is 6–8 degrees too high and could kill the spores. Is it okay to leave the lid ajar or off to lessen the temperature? Or is there some other way? Put all the racks on and have the tempeh at the top?
Hello,
I have used my Ezidri FD500 for 8 years but the machine got very (!) hot and stopped working today. What could have gone wrong? Is there any way of fixing it?
Thanks.
I'd suggest you contact Ezidry in Adelaide. They are a fantastic bunch to work with. My dehydrator played up and they were really good with the repairs.
Hi
Has anyone had success with yogurt? The recipe book suggests 5 hours at 115 f but all we get is liquid with a skin on top!
I have a Hydraflow Ezidri FD1000

I have a harvest Maid FD 1000. We have had it for about 25 years but have only used it once or twice. I have a lot of apricots this year and thought I would give it a try again. it was not working so I checked and replaced the thermal fuse. it worked for about two hours then stopped again. the base was very hot. I replaced the thermal fuse again and when I switched it on I had trouble getting the fan to operate. A bit of prodding and it went ok. It stopped in 10 minutes. The base was hot so the heater works. I immediately switched it off. Can you lubricate the fan shaft. I suspect the motor or fan is not operating well. Should the fan be stiff to move. Any suggestions?.

Hi Brenton, a machine that old may be difficult to breathe new life into. Spare parts, apart from fuses are no longer available. If you would like to call us at Ezidri Australia freecall 1800 671 109 and we can discuss further and what options you may have. Gary
Does anyone know what is the thermostat heating / cooling cycle time please? ie how often will the element come on to heat the air?
It should feel warm all the time. If your unit is blowing cold air, the element might have blown. Take the trays off and feel the air coming from the outer edge of the base unit. It should feel warm.
Im thinking thecthermal fuse has blown in my unit but have metered what i think is the fuse at the top of the pcb and seems blown but im not convinced 100% that its the fuse im testing . The unit will not show any sighn of working now for an unknown reason
Mine stopped heating. Had it repaired and it worked again but made a vey loud noise when loaded. Obviously the fan was clanging against something. It's now in the repair shop again, right in the middle of mango season :(. My original Harvest Maid died of the same thing after 24 years. Can't help you other than to say the people at EziDri are very helpful.
Hi Mark, if there is no power at all to the unit, I'm pretty certain it will be the thermal fuse. Please contact us on our free call number 1800 671 109 and we can go through the repair options with you. Cheers, Gary
I have inherited an Ezidri Snackmaker FD500 and I'm super excited to try it out... but I didn't get an instruction manual. Please help!!
Hi Lee-Ann, please contact us at [email protected] and I can send you an electronic version of the instruction manual.
We have milking goats and sell goat milk bath and body and farm gate produce. Some recipes call for use of powdered milk not raw liquid. I am looking for a dehydrated than can make powdered milk? Has anyone tried this in this machine thanks?
I've never dried milk in a dehydrator but I do know someone who has dried eggs successfully.
Perhaps you should contact the company to see what they recommend.
I noticed the control panel where you select the temperature at the base of the unit gets quite a bit hotter than the rest of the base unit. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've never noticed it but then again, I don't touch the control panel unless I'm turning it on. I use the dryer on my kitchen bench, let it run overnight and turn it off at the power point in the morning, so I haven't noticed anything - sorry!
