The saw is great but I bought 2 1400mm tracks and they weren’t the same. When joining the tracks together and set the saw up so it was sliding nicely when I pushed saw on to second track it was to tight to use. Not happy given the price. Mikita tracks have no issue.

This is a great saw and a worthy replacement for my TS55 REBQ
I love this saw. After continually tripping over the cable and vac hose on my TS55 REBQ, or trying to stop the hose catching, this new saw is brilliant. Cuts quickly (faster than the TS55 in my opinion) is well balanced and has lots of grunt (with 2 batteries). I find if I just use the bag on it and vacuum the bag out every 6 or so full width cuts when cutting melamine sheets there is, amazingly, very little dust left behind. That takes seconds. The fine tooth blade that comes with the saw chips the melamine so you will need the laminate blade which is a triple chip.

genius invention - crazy portability with the precision cut of a table saw. This saw rocks, gets me out of trouble on site when it really counts. it saves driving back to the factory and recutting feature panels, as well as amazing for cutting down painted doors without marking the surface

This track saw and extractor work so well. Perfect straight dustless cut every time. Cuts so much faster than the traditional fibro cutters and beats using a grinder due to the great suction of the extractor.

I bought this recently as an addition to a large amount of festool gear we already own. We already had the CT48h vacuum cleaner which cost a fortune we have the 75mm track saw we have the concrete grinders, concrete cutters, all the sanders, multi-tool and I couldn't even tell you what else off hand let's just say we spent up big at festool and expected this to be a decent tool.
The thing I do the absolute most is trim doors with this and in most cases they are pine between 35 and 40 mm thick. Occasionally we get a nice door and that might hap...
Read morepen to be hardwood but it's less common. We do occasionally use this to rip treated pine or standard pine in your standard 35mm and 45 mm width. Essentially this has not been bought for heavy duty use it's been bought for light jobs at homes without power. Now here's the issue this thing is gutless like I mean really bad. When we are trying to cut pine with this at 35mm thick you have to push a millimetre at a time otherwise it will bog and stall - it's painful. When cutting this kind of material the battery life is even more woeful than its performance, the twin 5.2ah battery's will trim 3 sides of a door and at that point one of the two batteries has only one of the three charge lights remaining and the other battery has two of the three charge lights remaining. This is this is ridiculous it translates to only 5 or 6 metres of cutting before one of the batteries is down to 30 percent approximately. In its defence if you're cutting 12-18mm chipboard or even MDF it seems to be pretty reasonable but if you're buying this to cut anything anywhere near the 55mm that claims to do I think you might be disappointed this is probably best left for cabinet makers and people cutting chipboard and not for anyone cutting actual timber. This afternoon I've scheduled a demonstration with Makita and their track saw to investigate it's performance in comparison to this as I'm ready to sell this after just 5 or so uses for whatever I can get and move to Makita as I already own a very significant amount of their battery tools and performance has not been an issue with any of those including the 6 inch saw.Purchased in at Sydney Tools for $1,367.

Hi Danny, Thanks for reaching out with your feedback.
I understand that are sometimes limitations with corded vs cordless plunge saws when plunging into different materials....
Read more Since your purchase a couple of years ago Festool has produced a new cordless TSC 55K plunge saw that has addressed some of your concerns. There is new saw blade range that improves the cutting performance. I would be happy to organise a trial for you if you are interested to see if helps with some of your concerns? No worries Danny.
It all starts when you open the Systainer, the smell of quality embraces over you as you pull the saw out and feel it fit perfectly into ones hands, you play with all the functions and settings which is all so easy to adjust. You gently slide it onto the track, careful not to scratch anything, you pull the trigger and it fires up for that first time. The smell of a brand new tool overwhelms you and it starts slicing through the material with no effort, powerful enough that it doesn’t even know it’s cutting. Once finished running through the mat...
Read moreerial it stops and you realise how much you like the saw, then you turn around and feel how smooth the cut is, and the perfection of its cut. At that very moment, I realised that I no longer liked the saw but now, I’m in love with it. Amazing quality Festool keep it up.Purchased in at Sydney Tools ACT, Fyshwick for $1,350.
