The best BBQ I've ever owned
Owned a number of brand name bbqs over the years that have either fallen apart or rusted through with 2 to 3 years (covered and out of the weather). Decided to go with this one as I was sick of spend more than twice as much elsewhere. This coolabah bbq has been solidly used for the past 4.5 years now and hasn't missed a beat. It gets used multiple times every week. I clean it out on a regular basis and I used the aldi cover as well. It still looks like new and cooks perfectly every time. The only thing I have replaced on it is the o-ring on the...Read more
regulator when it perished. That's all. Wheels are strong and it gets moved around all of the time. I must admit when putting it together when I got it, all fittings and mounting hardware seemed much better designed and over engineered in places compared to other brands like beefeater and the likes. The side burner works a treat and the fold out table is handy as well. Really surprised how good this thing is. I reckon I'll still have it for another 10 to 15 years at least if it's current condition is anything to go off.
Purchased in June 2021 at ALDI for $399.00.

Looks good but really poor quality.
Just bought this 4 burner BBQ for $360 from Aldi. The side burner has such a high but weak gas flame that cooking a stir fry is not possible.. Haven't yet used the BBQ just the side burner. So disappointed with the side burner, I now have to go out & buy a gas burner ring because I do a lot of wok stir fry and this BBQ is just not suitable. Rubbish is what I think of this BBQ..

Confusion over number of Flame Tamers
Assembly & Operations instructions for 4-burner Hooded BBQ indicated 2 pcs Flame Tamers whereas carton item sheet and box with parts indicated 4pcs but 2pcs found inside the box. Took us a while to realise we only needed 2pcs. Just finished putting together the bbq and looking forward to using it.

Piece of Flimsy get what you pay for.
Very disappointed on the quality. Not satisfied with their return policy. I did not have the BBQ that long, only a couple of months. The extremely flimsy slide under tray which catches the fat buckled/warped and did not run into the tray in the middle. Caused a fire. All they replaced was another flimsy tray. Good on You Aldi.

Excellent BBQ - 4 years old, still like new.
Firstly, I leave the $199 Aldi 4 burner Coolabah BBQ on my back verandah, not outside in the rain. I keep it covered and clean all the time, and move it rarely - and only to clean under it.
It is simply a very good and cheap BBQ, similar to others that cost about $600. It is just a BBQ after all and it BBQs stuff like any other I have had.
Problems: I need to replace the piezo starter, and the text on the front of the BBQ has been washed off when I cleaned it. The text should have been baked enamel, or a separate embossed label or plate, maybe riveted on. (I design this sort of stuff)
It is good, but could be improved I think. I'll check out the castors (Ive designed stuff with castors before as well)

This Is Perfect! Can't Live Without It.
I have owned this BBQ for many years now and it's still in perfect condition since the day I purchased it, I used it close to 30 times a year, as I have a BBQ most weekends. I highly recommend buying the BBQ cover that ALDI sells while purchasing the BBQ. I know the cover was a strong contributor to the amazing condition of the 5-year-old BBQ. All the wheels and moving parts are fully functional and the stainless steel is the same as the day I made the purchase.
The burner covers have degraded badly but that is understandable as they are onl...Read more
y sheet steel, fat and grease drips through the grill and coats the covers and unfortunately this combined with the intense heat of the burners has caused it to become brittle and rust over the years. All the gas fitting and hoses are like new. The hotplate has been cured with fat and oil since new and this has left the hotplate in an amazing condition.1 comment
Just lost my fist wheel and 2 burner covers other then that it's still in amazing condition.I cannot be more happy with my now very very old BBQ.
Thanks ALDI

First click everytime
Had mine for 2 1/2 years, the best Barbie I've had can't say enough about it for the price, the only time it doesn't ignite I know I'm out of gas. Just looking for a rotisserie so I can branch out and cook a few more roasts and really enjoy my purchase.

Absolute crap!
Front wheels broke off and they won't do a thing!!! Only used it a hand full of times at best. Very flimsy, did Aldi bother to test it? I've bought plenty from Aldi but this is an absolute JOKE!!! It cooks ok but just don't try to move it!! If it wasn't designed to be moved why put bloody wheels on the thing???? I'd have been better off buy from Ebay or the Chineses outlet called Bunnings instead of Aldi

Not up to standard
Frame rusts quickly and wheel socket broken. Even the stainless steel doors will rust. Covered all the time. Not up to Austrailan conditions May be better in a Alfesco area

A disappointing roaster
The unit was well priced, presents well, with good storage and relatively easy to assemble. Unfortunately we couldn't get the oven hot enough. It is recommended not to use all burners at once, or place them on high when closing the hood. We did call the Coolabah customer service centre, and it was confirmed not to use the burners on high, and only roast with two turned on. When I asked how to get vegetables crunchy, the female operator said I dont know, my husband uses it. It would have been fine for grilling.
We returned this model to the store without a problem.

Never Easy to get a BBQ for a Coastal Home
Had the 4 burner and wok burner for 4 1/2 years. Two of the stainless steel burners have rusted apart. Failed over winter and fallen into the tray.
One of the caster legs have failed causing the plastic base and caster to fall out, dangerously tipping the entire BBQ. Never move this BBQ when hot or worse alight. I can just imagine a scene where the BBQ gets smoky and someone asks to move it away... disaster.
It's cheap in comparisons. Anyone living on the coast knows you either pay a lot for BBQ and it might last, or you pay a little and know you will have to throw it away
Legs are poorly designed and potentially dangerous if moving it around. Burners fail

Too heavy for wheels
We have had it for 12 months but have only used it 5 times mainly for doing roasts. It has been no trouble up until now, when i rolled it across the pavers & a wheel snapped off. I think the cheap plastic wheels are too light for the BBq & should be replaced with a better quality wheel in future. It has a 24 month warranty but after reading some of the questions i won't be holding my breath, let you know how it goes.
Easy to clean
Wheels broke

Not happy with this product
We have had the BBQ for just over 12 months, initially the stainless steel hot plate buckled little which was annoying, but the griddle worked well until the heat dispersers gave out as did the and internal supports for the burners which disintegrated.I feel I wasted my money, when for a few hundred dollars more I could have gotten a better quality product elsewhere. I was forced to give it a one star rating, I wouldn't give it one if I had a choice.
Initially was great, a good looking product that worked well
You get what you pay for, all show with poor quality internal components

Works Well
We have had this barbecue for just over 12 months and we are finding that the burners have already deteriorated am very unhappy with this product.
Good to cook with
Should last longer than 12 months for what it costs

Good
Have been using this BBQ for the last 6 months and have found it to be easy to use and keep clean. Cooked a chicken on the Rotisserie and it came out a little bit overdone. So bought a separate temperature gauge and cooked a leg of lamb with the separate gauge in the BBq, the difference in temperature shown was incredible. The supplied gauge showed 230 degrees F when it was more like 200C. Besides it's a good Barby for the price
Easy to clean, handy Wok burner
The temperature gauge isn't very reliable

I have since got advice was told the white flame means air is getting through.I have tightened one of the fittings and the side burner flame has improved. Can now cook a stir fry.
