So Good

published

This is my first wireless internet purchase and Optus offered this fetch as part of a bundle. It's affordable for us, nicely designed and easy to navigate around the main options. The box takes a couple of minutes to register when you first turn it on but otherwise the use of the remote to record shows, playback, flick between a reminder notification... It's just so easy!! The movie purchase also allows 2-3days to watch your movie which is great, no "return by 6pm" at the video store. Highly recommended.

Great

published

Fetch mini is Easy to use and navigate. Built in apps eg YouTube Netflix run much faster than built in apps on my TV with no menu lag.
Reminders dont change the channel only pop up in the corner so can be easy to miss if your not paying attention. Overall happy though.

Excellent Concept

published

My main reason for purchasing this was so that I could watch Netflix on this TV and record free to air programs on my fetch mighty and watch them in another room. Netflix is great but watching program recorded on the night is not always reliable (very laggy). I don’t understand why internet speed should affect this as i assume it’s all just through my WiFi connection from one box to the other. The remote control range is not great if you’re not directly in front of the box and more than 4 metres away.

Great for catch up TV and youtube

published

Excellent picture quality for both free to air and streaming services..
We only use it for Catch up and youtube, not for any add-on channels, and it does the job very well. We only have ADSL broadband speed of about 6kbps and it works fine.
Frequent software updates are received and installed automatically. It's a bit buggy but getting better with every update.
Navigating is quite simple except for SBS On Demand which is all over the place.
The free to air tuner does not handle weak TV signals as well as the Samsung TV it is connected to.

Good product. Customer service isn't great

published

I purchased fetch mini instead of the alternatives based on the price and value. It is very easy to set up. Easy to use. The remote control is easy to use. The option of monthly additional channel packs is REALLY good value. Contacting customer service is limited and not an easy process. I don't have any speed issues. This is an overall good buy. The

Can I hook my hard drive up to fetch mini so I can record the same way I do now with my Foxtel? It would save me buying the more expensive Mighty?

I have both Mighty and Mini. Setting a recording on the mini is actually setting it on the mighty via software and wifi.

I just did a quick check of the manual and it only refers to ‘playing movies...music using the USB’.

Suggest you check their website manual or contact them directly to be sure.

My guess is... no.

Just bought a brand new Fetch Mini, it takes over 10 minutes to start every time, then doesn’t automatically connect to the wifi, & have to put in password every time, then sometimes connect to Netflix then other days it doesn’t, not sure if I got a faulty one or not, does anyone else have this problem???

They can be temperamental initially. You can contact Fetch directly or realistically, based on startup delay, return the unit as faulty.

Ok thank you, yes I went to JBHIFi where I bought it & they said the same to return it with 90 days as it’s new & no questions asked. So thank you as tried to get into Fetch no success or reply to emails x
