My fast forward rewind has stopped working how do I get it to work again on fetch mighty
1 answer
I’d suggest the remote control is stuffed. They’re a pretty average device at best. We bought a new one off eBay.

One of my Fetch Mighty's has a critical hard disk error - I think due to a local power spike - but is out of warranty by 6 months. Fetch have absolutely no repair facility or service agents. I presume I could get a good hdd out of one of my working units and copy it. Has anyone ever successfully cloned the Fetch hdd and installed it to resolve an issue like this ?

Can I take my fetch box to my mum's when I stay there

I do not see any reason why not. Test it out and report back.
Should work, though I am not sure how the OPTU$ ones will go.

Can I watch the 5pm version of the news at 6pm on the same day or do I need to wait longer such as the next day?
Thanks

I don’t understand your question.
Maybe let me say it another way. If I go to watch some news how do I watch the most recent version but not live so no ads. Eg if I sit down in front of Tv at 6pm and want to watch 5pm edition of news so I can skip ads. How do I do that. I have not used fetch before so I need to be stepped through it. Thanks
Sounds like you need to read the manual.
Short version :-
1. The Fetch has the ability to record shows.
2. Press TV guide and select the relevant show then press the red R (record) to record your 5pm news.
3. At 6pm playback the pre-recorded news.
4. You can fast forward by using the remote (the double arrows-more presses = faster; or silver arrow=5mins skip).
PS: my info is based on my current unit and remote. Your may have an older model with different controls. If so you will need to check the manual that applies to your unit.

my fetch mighty stops recordingmovies before the end why is this happening ?
3 answers
Are the movies running later than scheduled ?
no it gets to about 10 mins before the end then stops
These units are very temperamental and, like PCs, require restarting. Try it out first, then either contact your service provider (if applicable) or Fetch directly if it persists.

When trying to view recorded programs my Fetch displays an error “Playback failed for show”
Have powered off to reset but no joy. Can’t find any resolution online

Asked earlier.
I just did a quick web search and it could be a power problem or disk error. Suggest you research more or contact Fetch.
Don’t bother contacting Fetch they will just offer a refurbished replacement. Try turning the box off for 24 hours unplug all leads and change the HDMI cable for a new one if you have had for a while it worked for me so far. However your recorded program is lost. Fetch can send you instructions for a full re set but you loose everything

Can you have two separate fetch mighty boxes in the same house. Totally separate from each other
2 answers
yes they say you can.
i guess you'll need two tv aerial out/in lets.
or better ethernet cabling.
you just connect to your home wifi as you would with other.
did i say that i returned mine.
for testing, repair or money back.
I've heard nothing back from harvey norman as of yet.
I absolutely was sold on the possibilities of having the unit.
recording 2 or 3 shows at once whilst watching, pausing a show.
plus internet options.
id only just dumped foxtel because of the cost, (wife said to)
I had nothing but trouble with the tv screen freezing when using my fetch.
the trouble shoot guide sends you around in circles.
that is to repower the unit.
if you're looking for a quick phone con with tech support,
dont both.
send an email and they'll email you back with recommendations to check the fault find guide.
did i mention the fault finding guide?
now i wait,
but the positive is i don't have to sit through all the recorded shows my wife likes.

Can you stand your tv on top of the fetch box
1 answer
Depending on the base arrangement of your TV, I suppose it’s a possibility. We’ve returned ours due to it being faulty (read my review from last week for details), but from memory it’s about 5cm high, and perhaps about 20x20cm base(ish). However, it ‘overheats’ VERY easily and I’d assume this will mess with that element of the box.

Hi, I just bought a fetch mighty box. I really only want to nuse it as a pvr. Do I need to be connected to my Wi-Fi to watch normal tv? If so, how much of my data will it use? I only have the data I get with my mobile phone so not a huge amount and was not made aware of having to use WiFi to watch normal tv.

It has 4 tuners inside... so unless you're locked to Optus you shouldn't need to go online to unlock it?
Ahh, that sounds good. My mobile is with ALDI so through telstra. I know nothing about these things, so I would just need to connect to WiFi to set it up, I can't seem to skip that part?
Yeh it needs internet all the time, but won't use a lot of data if u don't watch internet channels. It uses internet for the program guide and software updates which are random. Keep an eye on the usage until u know what it's using.

Can i use the fetch mighty box simply to stream fetch content without an antenna
1 answer
I'm not sure, I assume so, I haven't tried it. Would also depend on if they allow you to pass initial set up of the box without a working antenna connected

How can I fix the problem of the Fetch not responding to the remote? Especially when rewinding or fast--forwarding recorded programs, when I press "Play" on the remote the box often wont respond for up to a minute, in which case it has gone waaay past where I need it to stop and play. Remote batteries are fine and I can see the box acknowledging the remote.
2 answers
I wouldn’t know. But I found sometimes a restart. I did find sometimes when I removed the antenna the remote would respond after 30 seconds or so. I’d try sending fetch an online message, as that’s the only way to get in contact with them and wait for a reply by email
A restart is always my first go to.
