Just not reliable

published

My first Fetch lasted about three years. The remote two and a half years. Bought a replacement from Harvey Norman. It lasted about three hours. Took it back and got a replacement, after one week it is playing up.

My son has a similar story

This is a disgrace for a PVR

published

I bought a Fetch Mighty4 -M616T on the 5/7/2019 cost $399 plus installation $99 then he had to come back another $99 He said too hard to use should have sent it back. Then it worked OK until recently when I had an IT man VERY KNOWLAGABLE who showed me what was wrong cost $99 but it kept going wrong He has been back 3 times n/c until today when he agreed it was not me but no option but to get rid of it and buy a Panasonic which are much better and easy to use. Being installed tomorrow . plus at least another $99 +
So far $795 PLUS a new Panasonic $395 = $1190+ do not buy a FETCH

I love my Fetch Mighty

published

Used to have a TIVO (still got it to hold up the Fetch box) and it took a few days to get used to. Now I couldn't be happier. Does everything the TIVO did plus more. Does what it's meant to do.. record programs and let me watch them when I want. I have an LG smart tv, so I use the apps on that and overall, I'm now in TV heaven. Thanks Fetch :-)

Piece of junk

Constantly need to reboot after freezing. Press a button on the remote and it responds around a minute later. Often fails to record shows. Etc.
Bring back TiVo - my TiVo box never once failed.

Pretty much unusable

published

Isn't at all fit for purpose. Between the remote not always working and the box lagging, freezing or ignoring inputs, you can barely control the device. I'd say one in every three button presses actually works, and even then you have to physically force the button down hard and wait a second or two in case the lag registers double inputs (or wait thirty seconds or so if the box has frozen). Obviously navigating anything at all isn't fun.

Crap piece of tech !!!!

published

So miss our tivo.... had a long startup but worked flawlessly.. Fetch on the other hand... such rubbish. Often just hangs and when going into menu just goes black so yet again need to pull plug and reboot, thankfully starts up relatively quickly. Need to pull plug about twice a week. Don't bother ... spend way less and get a fire tv usb.... who needs to tape rubbish on free tv these days anyway... everthing is streaming or catchup. Fetch tv you should be ashamed. 0.5/5 stars ps remote is worst I have EVER used for response.... better remotes 20 years ago..... no joke. Point at box 2 cm away and it might work... unbelievable

Fetch box fails again - no sound this time.

published

Renting Fetch mighty box with Optus. This is my 3rd box in 3 years. This one has lasted the longest, about 18 months. The typical faults are: picture but no sound, freezing or keeps shutting down. Sometimes resets work but Fetch Technical help often cannot solve the fault. They typically send a replacement box with the faulty box returned via Post Office. (All very time consuming).
This product needs major investigation to resolve these recurring faults.

Great product - keeps getting better

published

I have had Fetch for around 3 years now and love it. There are constant new features and updates being pushed out improving the apps and interface. No regrets and recommend for anyone looking for a DVR / subscription service. I am leaving this review after using the online record feature and appreciating the product all over again.

Great idea, poor quality hard drive and customer service

published

Bought the Fetch Mighty after our beloved TiVo was put out of service. The Fetch has been great to use, however after just 3 years of use the hard drive has failed. Customer service hss not offered to fix the Fetch but only told us to purchase a reconditioned Fetch. We won't be buying another one.

Fetch tv is a great streaming service. I love that you can rent or purchase movies that have just been released. Easy access to Netflix/Stan and added MTV music channels included. I've had no trouble with installation and connection. Great product.

Remote control fails to send command/s to the box.

published

I have had 3 remotes replaced for unreliable response when I press buttons, particularly the fast forward button which is the most used one.You press the button 3 times and it "clicks" but the red light on the remote doesn't come on each time and you are lucky if you get to the second fast forward. I have just requested another replacement. The unit was purchased in November 2018 and has a 2 year warranty.

why did TIVO ever leave Australia!!

published

This thing just plain sucks. I have never had such unreliable electronics in all of my life. We have to keep power cycling it as it just locks up and we cannot get a response from it at all. Just now it got itself wound in a knot and started rewinding live to air and would not stop! this is such a large step backwards from the TIVO. I will NEVER buy this brand again!!

Does not last no repair options

published

Traded my TiVo for a fetch in the original offer. My TiVo was 11 years old and still working. My fetch is 3 years old and is faulty. Asked for repair options/dealers and was advised all they could offer was a refurbished box for $279. From EBay. Why would I want another one if they only last 3 years and there are no service options. Also TiVo made a deal to trade in for fetch boxes so they could make sure they did not leave useless boxes destined for landfill. Where should I send my faulty box Fetch ? Landfill !!!!
Think the ACCC needs to have a look at this. Buyer beware

Faulty Recordings.

published

My Fetch Mighty Gen 3 has started to lose reception of FTA TV. Recordings stutter and stop- device jumps back to menu. Bizarrely, when it was working ok it gave constant warnings of "poor signal strength" on recordings, which were flawless on playback. Watching live channels is also plagued by the same stuttering and drop outs. No such poor signal warning with the current problems. Did a full Factory Reset and now working perfectly (touch wood).

I’d suggest the remote control is stuffed. They’re a pretty average device at best. We bought a new one off eBay.
