Advertisements you wanted to skip?
Great product but- cannot skip or mute advertisements. Can if you record but not in catch up ( streaming TV services ) only had the unit for a week, excellent remote. But detest having adverts rammed down my throat every 10-15 minutes.
- I wonder if they will allow this review?
New update on programme guide is hopeless
Popup information is so distracting. New favourite channels set-up worse. Who are the people you have got working for you? Bring back old setup. Need the recorded items to continue scrolling back to start. Pain to scoll backwards.

The Fetch Mighty is by far the WORST media player/streamer I have EVER used! So bad it's beyond belief!
Over the years I've owned many media players, so when my old Android unit died I thought I'd get a newer media player that would offer good streaming choices. The (now infamous) Fetch Mighty seemed to look good on spec at first, and there weren't a lot of reviews at the time that highlighted the issues with it so I bought one.
What a truly horrible experience! I can't believe a company can design such an utterly unreliable and useless product as the Fetch Mighty.
It freezes, ALL THE TIME, and after the last several updates 9 times out of ten ...
Read morewhen I try to turn it on, it simply doesn't respond, the blue LED flashes which shows something is being acknowledged, but just won't turn on. Almost every time I needed to use it I had to pull the power cord out and then re-insert it, which would then cause it every so often to lose settings, and complain about the hard drive occasionally. The menu is really cluttered, and the remote most times seems to work only when it feels like it. When browsing a USB you sometimes you need to hold the remote at that "Just Right" angle to navigate files, never quite worked out if it's the remote or the sensing unit at issue there. I absolutely hate the unit, the vendor has been useless in trying to fix/return it, so the only way I've found I can have it be usable, is to power it off a dedicated powerboard with a switch, so after every time we use it we manually cut power to it after shutdown, so we can at least power it on without possibly corrupting the config or the hard disk.
Constant Freezing
Brought my mighty from Harvey just over 2yrs, pic would freeze so had to turn box off and on again.Contacted support given steps to fix but now it just loops reboot. Now given a link to ebay store for refurbished unit shouldn't they last longer than that.

Dont do it
We bought a fetch box 2 years ago. Worked well until the last software update. Since then the unit turns its self off, flickers intermittently. The company solution was to send me a link to buy another one. No responsibility for dadgy updates. So if you're thinking of buying one save yourself the heartache.

Remote is terrible
The fetch box and services are good, however the remote is terrible. The buttons quickly lost their sensitivity so you have to either press really hard to get it to respond,or press it multiple times.

Not really worth it
Can't add apps you want, like Disney+ Foxtel now or even iView. You have to go in through the TV guide to get to 9now etc. Crappy interface, not at all intuitive.
More expensive than Netflix or Amazon with poor selection, or you can pay even more to 'rent' or 'buy' movies.
Keeps playing program in the background, with sound, while you're trying to get out of it
Absolutely zero point to having this, just plug a storage device into your smart TV.
Does have some ok shows but not enough to justify the cost.
Gets a star for being able to record different channels at the same time. Dual tuners are hard to come by now.

Fetch is a great product, easy to use. Customer service is 5 Star.
Fast
Clear fonts and show descriptors.
Add ons Netflix, Amazon and Stan.
Voice search.
Massive storage and records entire series.
All on 1 remote and very easy to navigate through all functions
Customer service 5 star
Complete rip off
What’s the point of paying for the subscription but then having to pay for the movies and shows? Netflix and Stan are cheaper so why pay for this? Never gonna buy this again

Complete crap. No customer service.
Edit: August 2021.
This Fetch Box is still a temperamental nightmare.
Soooo disappointed. I’m unemployed and spend money very, very, carefully.
This is my only form of entertainment.
Have blown my money on this, and am not in a position to just toddle out and replace it.
Had an original Fetch box through iiNET.
It still kept working long after we left iiNET - can’t explain why, but was solid and reliable. Purchased an Fetch Mighty in late 2022.
It worked beautifully for a year until November 2020, but have had nothing but trouble since then....

Bad quality not made to last
I had mine for 3 years then it just blew up one day... The problem this box has is there is no standbye, so it basically stays on all the time reducing it's life span. I replaced with panasonic.
Wonderful
After 24 years of foxtel I traded for Fetch Mighty and am so glad I did. Very easy to use, great choice of subscription channels & great value. Very happy customer.

Excellent product
I have had my fetch TV box for four years never had any issues with it works perfectly. I don't understand why some people have issues. Highly recommend the box

Great Features cor the price
I have had a FETCH Mighty for over four years and on the whole am very happy. I also have the Mini and love multi room. They probably update the software too often which can sometimes lead to problems, but I wouldn’t swap it for Foxtel which I had previously.
Its frickin great
Forget the sooks here. Fetch TV is very good and well worthy of your investment. Great for recording free to air. My only beef is they need to access AFL even its via Kayo into. Its apps. Still very good option. Fluck Foxtel i say

Not great in Australia.
This box is locked down by Fetch. You cannot download apps or channels that you want. They must be approved by Fetch. Example. You cannot watch Disney plus with fetch in Australia. So you are switching between devices. Until fetch is an open box I would look elsewhere. We bought this box but have been disappointed. About every 2 months fetch box freezes up totally, we have to unplug power and totally reboot machine. I do not know why, and software updates have not fixed this.

A rip off
In January 2021, the price of accessing the movie box will double from $1 to $1.99 being the first increase in 5 years. That represents an average increase of 14.75% a year.
How can such an increase possibly be justified in these low interest times? The CPI increases for 2016 to 2020 were 1.5%, 1.9%, 1.8%, 1.8% and probably 0.7% = $1.08 rather than $1.99

How does one contact the accounts department?
Fetch tv sent me an email stating that they were increasing the cost of their “movie box” by one dollar. I’m not impressed with their movies, so I cancelled “movie box”. Now the fetch tv won’t work. They may have closed my account by mistake, but I don’t know how to contact them. It’s not easy to get onto their chat line. When I eventually did, I was put through to a technician that you have to pay to chat to. I’m fed up with fetch. I now need a technician to turn on the tv.
A bit tricky
Unit I have does not like any interference in TV reception and if it occurs during recording the recording will also fail. Make sure you have strong reliable reception with no pixilation. Make sure all aerial connections and cables all the way to the box are perfect.
Also I inadvertently changed to a HDMI cable I had lying around that has ferrite cores fitted. The reliability of recordings is so far 100% since changing HDMI cables and trying to fix some possible loose aerial connections. There are a lot of devices close to my Fetch Mighty box. I think the ferrite cores on the HDMI cable have helped - I don’t know why. I also put a HDMI cable with ferrite cores on a nearby device as well just in case.
Seems like a great deal until you start using it
Switched over to Fetch mighty (Optus Yes Tv) from Foxtel iQ4 HD, as I was after a cheaper deal than Foxtel offers. Great deal, free fetch for 3 months, used it for a week, noticed audio quality was terrible particularly with the premium streaming channels, this is well known, https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2384672
Also noticed while watching recorded shows that it would suddenly skip 1/2 way through the program.
I also noticed the video quality was poor compared to Foxtel even with 4K.
Switched back to Foxtel and won’t look back (not a fan of Foxtel but you really do pay for what you get )

Very disappointed
Harvey recommended the Fetch box instead of a replacement hard drive recorder.
The box was problematic from the start. It had to be rebooted frequently. I thought my internet provider was the issue. NO !! Rebooting became a daily process. When I reported my concerns to Harvey Norman, they stated that I had to contact Fetch directly by email. After being treated like an IT idiot by Fetch customer service personnel for months the box finally made a clear statement "critical hardware fault" and went to a blue screen. I had to seek assis...

Sticky Remote on Fetch
This is my second Fetch Box after I decided to upgrade to the Mighty. Well the new remote is absolutely horrendous as it is very hard to use and takes multiply tries to register on the box. No customer service is available.
Fetch a big disappointment
I have had my Fetch box for three years. I have a number of issues with this product. It has not worked for six weeks now and I have been emailing the company to try and get it to work again. The product is obviously faulty as nothing they have told me to do has worked. Now they want me to pay for a refurbished unit for $299 that gives me only 12 months warranty. As a consumer I expect a product to last longer than that and by law they should repair or replace goods (or part of them), resupply or fix a problem with services (or part of the...
Read morem) or provide compensation to the consumer. Instead they send me a link to Ebay to buy the refurbished unit. Not happy. I previously had TiVo which was the best product ever. Easy to use and had no issues. Had to change to Fetch as TiVo stopped operating. I wish there was another alternative product.- 15 reviews

A PVR that's constantly trying to sell your something you don't need
We moved over to fetch after Tevo (excellent PVR) deserted Australian shores -We have been using the tevo for over 8 years with NO problems whatsoever - so granted, our expectations are high.
Now the Fetch!
- As a PVR - It's barely OK, but we have far too often lost most-all of our content when it freezes, and it does this a lot!
- You can link up a mobile device app, for mobile viewing, but be warned - our experience is that once you start viewing something using your mobile device, it is often impossible to continue (or even restart) wat...
I love our fetch
Very fast, so easy to use. Product looks nice & has lights on the front so you know what mode its in. I love that it records show into there own folders.
You have option of buying movies to keep & buying there own tv bundles.
