Sheets are painful!
DH8060P1I agree with others on the review - wish I'd read the reviews before we bought it1 The machine itself is fine, but we hate that it rolls the sheets into a tight ball that has to be untied every 5 min while trying to dry the sheets. The result is that sheets that 2x as long to dry, especially in winter. We would not have bought it if we had known that.
Ordinary Dryer
DH8060P1It drys your clothes just like any other dryer would. One big problem is the sheets setting is useless. Guaranteed to roll your sheets into a compact ball every time. You'll have to remove them, untie them and restart the cycle at least 4 times or they wont dry.

DH8060P1We purchased this dryer about 3 years ago, attracted by it being far more energy efficient and that it wouldnt create damp issues by condensing the water.
The dryer has slowly lost efficiency over the years and takes a lot longer to dry than it did when we first purchased it. Sheets are no better than a standard dryer, still getting tangled into a lump despite the auto reversing drum. The load is often dry long before the dryer detects that its dry and I end up turning it off manually.
About 6 months ago we noticed the drum wouldnt always s

We couldnt use the sheet cycle anymore because it would get stuck and stop spinning when it would try to reverse the spin direction. 2 weeks ago it stopped spinning entirely. Got a repair guy out who discovered the belt to turn the drum was completely shredded. We had cheap $300 dryers in our old rental before buying this that lasted 5+ years so are hugely disappointed at the reliability. Its usually dried 3-4 loads a week over those 3 years which I dont consider excessive. If we were going to invest in an appliance like this again, we would only look at brands with longer warranties that stand by their products. Our matching F&P washing machine is making louder noises every time it spins so Im just waiting for that to die to purchase a new washer/dryer pair.Do not put this on top of matching washer..... unless you're on concrete.
DH8060P1I am onto my third dryer (F and P have honored warranties), because what no one knew, was that if you have a wooden floor (as opposed to a concrete slab), the washer vibrates wildly, and damages the dryer sitting on top.
I never used the dryer/s at the same time as the washer below, but the violent shaking of the high-powered washer caused damage nevertheless. And this was with the F and P stacker kit in use. The dryer is also very difficult to keep clean of lint, because of the nature of condenser dryers.
The latest dryer is now on the benchtop, annoying, because I specifically wanted to save space with the stackable washer/dryer.

It’s hit and miss
DH8060P1We loved this dryer to start but it didn’t take long before we ran into a constant battle with it. It’s very temperamentle, we always clean the lint filter after every cycle but yet it stops during cycles and beeps repeatedly we clean every single inch we can all the time but always go back to the same issue not long after

DH8060P1For the price we paid we thought we were getting a top of the line dryer.....but it struggles with towels and sheets?. They still feel slightly damp and cold when finished. Sheets do roll into a ball and do not dry properly. Surely from wordclass appliance specialists like fisher and paykel you would expect it would be fit for purpose. Yes for other situations its great and does what its supposed to do...but then so do machines half the price.

DH8060P1Had this dryer for a month now and it’s fantastic . This was a replacement for the f&p areo xl condenser dryer .... probably the worst dryer we have owned that failed in a major way after 3 and a half years resulting in a near fire situation in the laundry. If it wasn’t for the fact we had a f&p front loader with the stacking kit we may have chosen a different brand . Over all we have had a positive experience except for one thing! The areo xl had no reversing function which made drying sheets almost impossible as they roll up into a ball. F&p

Now this is the key! We asked the retailer if this model had a reversing drum and they checked and said yes so we went for it. On drying our first sheets load ( 1 flat sheet 1 doona cover and 2 pillowcase covers ) we discovered what can only be described as a pure work of artificial intelligence genius. This machine had wrapped the items into an origami ball that took my wife and I 10 minutes to unwrap. We were so amazed at the skill this machine displayed I just wished we had recorded the event as no one would probably believe us! Anyhow after watching the action on the next cycle it’s speed has increased over the last unit and the reverse drum function turns back about 3 rotations in ten minutes !!! Attention fisher and pykel!! Reverse fuction needs to be 50/50 both directions .... otherwise it’s absolutly pointless!! Whoever thought reversing the drum 3 times then running the other way for 10 minutes obviously has never had a dryer or looked at what the compitition is doing ..... sighWONT DRY SHEETS!!!!
DH8060P1I went from a 10 year old 5kg F&P dryer to a brand new 10kg F&P Heat Pump dyer and to be honest, I liked my 10 year old one better for drying (not for the cost though). This new one is okay but it NEVER dries my sheets and donna covers and this drives me crazy. It just bunches them into a ball and spins the ball for however long, never to be dry. I even had a technician out (for another issue) and mentioned this and he changed the motor so it spun both ways but it still doesn't dry sheets. (My 10 year old one dried them perfectly btw!) Towels,

Please try and dry your sheets and let me know.... DH8060P1It's difficult to pick a star rating to reflect our experience so far - our initial machine was effectively dead on arrival, making alarming squealing sounds a couple of minutes in to the initial 'test' cycle per the instructions.
Called Fisher and Paykel whose best offer was to send a technician out in almost a week to have a look (with no guarantee of a fix on the spot...) We asked for a manager to call us back which never happened. We needed this machine to work urgently, and for a brand new machine of this price level I don't think an u
