Terrible fridge, would not recommend
We purchased the fridge in 2016. Within a few months there was lots of water pooling at the bottom of the fridge every day. We continued to wipe it out but then got a technician out and something was faulty with a part at the back of the fridge (can't remember the name). This was temporarily taped up by the technician but only a few weeks later the same problem happened so F&P replaced the part for us. Then just recently we noticed the fridge was not cold at all however the light was still on. Ice appeared to be forming at the back of the fridg...Read more
e and we had to get yet another technician out to have a look (took them three days to get back to us and then another two days to send someone out). Apparently the defrost element needs to be replaced so now we have to wait another two weeks until the part is ordered from New Zealand. It is very frustrating when you do not have a fridge for at least three weeks. We would never recommend this fridge to anyone as it has been nothing but trouble. Very disappointed as we look after all of our appliances.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good looking
The fridge is a good buy. It is very quiet and no noise at all. The temperature is maintained very well. Plenty of room inside to store all your food stuff. Quite economical to run. Very easy to keep clean. it looks good in my kitchen and doesn't take up too much room.

Very good fridge, our second time with same fridge
Very good all-fridge unit, we have the matching freezer unit. We used to have the pair in the smaller size but with our family growing we went and purchased the larger size. We didn't consider other models as we knew from experience the Fisher Paykel did the job very nicely. The only criticism I have is that in both sized models, I found the fridge shelves a bit flimsy. They're plastic (as most fridges are) and they crack or break easily. For both fridges I've had to buy replacement shelves - they aren't expensive but it's a pain. Still, this is an excellent family fridge.

Only Fit for Landfill
Fridge completely failed 6 times in 8.5 years in total (first failure @ 2 months old). It was repaired by F&P 5 times (3 repairs under warranty) but same problem persisted and fridge constantly froze entire contents without warning. On the 6th time, they told me it was not worth fixing any longer. I threw out so much lost food and wasted time off work. F&P refused a replacement and insisted I purchase a new one from them because this one not worth repairing any longer. Stay away from their fridges unless you have unlimited tolerance and endless time on your hands to waste.

ble since the beginning - aside from the amount it has cost me during its lifetime. I paid the same as every other customer and I deserved a product of the same quality. I didn't get it and I am loathe to pay anymore money to try this whole experience again. Please feel free to check my file (happy to verify my details off line with you). Serial number of my fridge is RPQ780938. After 5 failed attempts to repair it - clearly there was something very wrong with it from the start..Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

sounds like a freight train
Terribly disappointed. We were forced to buy this fridge as it is the only one that would fit in the space in the kitchen. Visitors think i have the washing maching on as it seems to grunt and groan. Was more expensive than other brands and is really just a basic fridge. In my opinon not worth the money
expensive and very noisy

Are we talking about the same machine here??? My purchase is absolutely fantastic...hardly any noise. You better get it checked out...probably faulty!
Was the loud noise just when u first set it up? most fridges & freezers work overtime to cool down when they are just new & turned on. Did the problem last long?

Love that fridge
Rang around until I got a good price and decided on RetraVision. The salesman said they were in stock but subsequent inquiries a few days later discovered it had never been put on their truck because it had to come for the manufacturer's warehouse. Delivery took over a week instead of a few days. I can understand the delay but why misrepresent the situation. We still had our old fridge so no problem. Delivery guys were quick and took all the packaging away. I was a little disappointed that there were few brands and models of upright refrigerato...Read more
rs to choose from and did not want to be running all over town to find them. Plenty of internal space, clean uncluttered look, nice big handle, Bright interior light. Open door chime is a good thought but there is only the two of us now so don't see a great benefit - maybe when we get older and senile it could come in handy.Keeps everything nice and cold. Temp adjustment easy to see and get to. Like the glass shelves . At times hard to open - magnetic seals on a full door really have a grip!, Husband can hear it at night and sounds as if water is running through the pipes but not a great concern and our bedroom is on the other side of the wall the fridge and separated by a hall in between. Pricy for just a fridge but think its because they are not as popular. The adjusting legs could do with better grip - it kept moving about when opening the door - refer to my earlier comment "hard to open" - it kept moving when I tried to open it. This has settled down since more groceries were put in.1 comment

not a question but an answer if you have water pooling under your vege crisper. It can be fixed!!!
Reason the water is pooling is that the drain hole is located high underneath the cooling fan - unfortunately the moulded lip of the fridge back, which empties into the drain hole, isn't wide enough to catch the water dropping off the inner fan cover so water is then running down the back of the fridge behind the air vents and collecting at the bottom (where you won't find any drain holes). To fix simply remove the long centre air vent panel by popping in each side. Next remove the outer cover of the fan (ensure you turn off power beforehand). There were no screws on our model but it was difficult to get off - we couldn't find any relevant info on google, but we persevered. The top sides come off easily and we just played by running skinny screw drivers down the edges and sort of pulled the piece in and away from the bottom right side and it popped off - sorry not very technical. You will see immediately water dropping off the plastic inner fan covers falls past the moulded drain ledge. We found that the red moulded plastic lid of a masterfood mustard jar worked great when wedged underneath the inner fan cover. It pushed the cover up and inwards and allowed the water to drop onto the ledge and run into the drain hole. I have only had this fridge today and it appears to have done the trick. Hopefully no other issues will be discovered because it otherwise seems like a great fridge with plenty of room.

Luckily my problem was a build-up of ice in the collector channel which was easy to clear once I got the upper panel off. Getting the panel off was a mission, being unsure how it was attached (not obvious). I used several old thin-bladed, kitchen knives (the ones your Nana had) to prise the right hand edge of the panel away from the body of the fridge. After persevering, the panel just popped off. My biggest fear was that the plastic would crack/break before the panel released, but, luckily, it stayed in one piece. I took a few photos with the panel off so that I will know what I am dealing with next time.
Kevin I’m really afraid of breaking that cover, any suggestions?

I have the E450 415L fridge and freezer as part of an integrated fridge and freezer in my kitchen. The fridge has been leaking water on the bottom near the crisper container everyday, and we are constantly trying to regulate the temperature as sometimes it doesn't get cold, and at times there is ice on the back panel when it is set at lower temperature. I am very frustrated as I have barely had the fridge for 6 months. Am I doing something wrong?

It is very difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of the specific cause without the benefit of inspecting your appliance.
If you would like to arrange a technician to attend to your refrigerator, you can call our 24-hour Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590 and a Customer Representative will assist you with service in your area.
Alternatively, you can search for service in your area by using our online locator at the following link: http://www.fisherpaykel.com/au/support/service-appliances#request-a-service
If there is a Fisher & Paykel technician in your area, a form will be generated which you can complete to submit a service request using our online booking facility. Otherwise, the locator will provide you with the contact details for the Authorised Service Centre(s) near your area.
In other words we won’t answer you on this common problem.

Never had this issue. The moisture must come from somewhere and to me it would have to be from the air being condensed in the fridge. Maybe your door is not being closed properly or left open too long. Possibly check for moisture on your land leaking pipe particularly if your house is on a slab. Other than that I can't imagine where it is comming from. The fridge can't make the water. Hope this helps.
Fisher & Paykel came & found the problem. Needed to reposition a metal plate in the back of the fridge (behind plastic panel) & put in another part to catch the condensate as it was dripping off the plate past the channel that was supposed to cathc the drip & feed them into the drain. Bottom of fridge has been dry ever since rather than remove .25 Litre most days.
I have the same problem, E450 all fridge, constantly fills with water in the bottom of the fridge under the crisper and then leaks out of the fridge onto the floor when you open the door, I have checked the drain and run a cleaning cable through it, makes no difference . I would assume this fridge is a lemon in regards to this problem . The fridge works very well otherwise and we have owned the fridge for a long time, and the door seals very well . But this water problem has steered me away from any future purchases of this brand . It's a shame as it has been a good product otherwise
