FisherandPaykel Washsmart 8kg
Model Number WA8060G1
Working perfectly this morning. I unplugged it for 30 mins plugged it back in and NO POWER. Nothing wrong with power point. Left it 30 mins still won’t receive power when plugged in. Is there a fuse in these machines? I’m leaving it for a few hours now and see if it works. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Had a similar problem. F&P customer service rep said it could be something to do with the motherboard in the machine. The cost of getting someone out to look at it was too expensive so we ended up buying a new LG Machine last weekend. Hope you have better luck!
I left it a few hours plugged it in and turned it on and Hey Presto!!! working again. I was very much relieved.

The machine is making a clunking noise when in use. It seems to be originating from around the bottom of the bowl and happens whenever any kind of spin cycle starts up. Any ideas on how to fix this?

We had a similar problem during the (brief) life of our F&P washer. We fixed the problem by purchasing a new washer. (NOT F&P).

machine only a few months old .... after wash cycle, doesn't drain or spin (the spin only cycle doesn't work) ... anyone have any troubleshooting tips? Very surprisingly, the manual doesn't appear to give any tips for this common problem but happy to be wrong - maybe we missed it ....

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel 8kg Top Load WashSmart Washing Machine 2 months ago and love it. However 10 mins or so into my last 2 washers it beeps and is asking for hot water. I definitely haven't hit the hot water option when I started the machine. So I have to restart the wash from the beginning. I Ve checked the manual but there is no reasons why this is happening, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If the water temperature entering the machine is below 20C the hot valve turns on to enable a minimum temp to allow the detergent to work correctly.
Detergent contains enzymes which need approx 20C to 'wake up'.
This can be changed, you will need to contact F&P to find out how.
Be aware if this is turned off you may have clothes not cleaning correctly because the enzymes did not activate.

My washsmart 8kg top loader keeps key locking and I have to keep turning the power off and then turn back on for me to be able to press the power button to select a cycle for the machine how can I stop the machine from automatically key locking
1 answer
the keylock comes n from the start of the first spin cycle and will remain locked until the wash is finished.
This is a safety feature.
If this happens before a wash is started, call an F&P technician.

I get "an out of bal" message every one out of 5 washes. what seems to be the problem? This message usually comes on at minute 32 of a 47 minute wash but today it came out at minute 13 of an auto mode wash. Any idea what is the problem?
1 answer
Washer may not be level.- Check the washer is level and does not rock in any direction.
Too much water for the load -Ensure an appropriate water level is selected for the load size (or select ‘Auto’ water level).

Just took delivery of a new Fisher Paykel top loading washer - model WA8060G1,
Installing the machine myself, and when I lean the washing machine slightly forward (as per manual) the rear self leveling feet drop from the base of the machine, and retract again into the machine when the washer is placed back on the floor.
Anyone have this problem before, or know what's happening?
Thanks
JR

The rear feet are self adjusting and will retract into position when machine gently lowered back down. Level the washer from
front to back using the front feet only winding both feet in or out equally.
Thank you for clarifying that aspect regarding the feet finding their own 'level'.
One further question if you may assist - is that one of the rear feet has tension (spring like) when pressure is applied to the bottom of the foot, the other rear foot has no tension and pushes into the machine quite freely with zero resistance.
I presume this would require repair?

How can I use just the spin please?

Not really an answer, but on this page, user says she interrupts the normal cycle (raising lid) and puts clothes in just before final spin...I too would like a 'spin only' cycle.Am thinking of buying this machine, perhaps F &P have a solution for when hand washing is preferable, using spin-only in machine.

after washing is complete the bowl has a dirty ring left on it at the water level chosen how can prevent this we use omo detergent as we have for the last 20 years also with fisher&paykel and have not had this problem. how do we remove this and stop it happening?
1 answer
Hi there! I'm probably not qualified to answer your query as I haven't experienced this problem but these are my initial thoughts:
* The Omo shouldn't be the problem - unless you are using powder as opposed to liquid. The Good Guys sales tech told me that liquid was better. I have used Earth Choice (a tad cheaper than Omo) without any hassles.
* Each wash I choose the water level according to load size. Perhaps if you are relying on the Auto level feature & your load is considerable there may not be an adequate level of water for washing resulting in the watermark ring? I mention this as my previous Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart automatically chose a smaller amount of water for each load than I would have liked.
*I was also advised to remove the middle agitator every 6 months to clean and clear the base of the machine from lint. Could there be a build up of lint (easily shedded by towels; toweling sports socks etc) that is unable to escape and consequently forms a ring?
* You mention it is a dirty ring so I am unable to ascertain if you are washing exceptionally dirty clothing; greasy or oily etc. I would be tempted to try a tad of Gumption or a paste of bicarb of soda and vinegar on a toothbrush to try and remove the dirty ring.
*Alternatively you could contact the Fisher and Paykel hotline which is listed at the back of the instruction manual.
Good Luck!

Brand new 8kg washsmart - installation went fine - we run on cold water only & have capped the hot water inlet, when we turn on we get water coming in for approx 10 seconds then it stops & beeps. Also tried to spin but will not. We are on tank water & have had a f&p 5kg top loader which ran perfectly - but upgraded to the larger machine - would appreciate your comments, robyn

HOT water temperature light is flashing.
Hot water supply is not hot enough to maintain the wash temperature you have selected.
Select a lower wash temperature.
Inlet hose filters may be blocked.
There may be a kink in the hose.
Hot tap has not been turned on.
Inlet hoses are connected to the wrong taps.
COLD water temperature light is flashing.
Cold tap has not been turned on.
Inlet hose filters may be blocked.
There may be a kink in the hose.
Inlet hoses are connected to the wrong taps.
Cold water temperature exceeds recommended limits (see ‘Installation instructions’, page 4).
The flow rate of the supply water is too slow.
HOT and COLD water temperature lights are flashing.

The hoses may be kinked.
The drain hose is too low or the drain hose is pushed into the standpipe too far and the water

Hi! How do you set up quick wash mode? I have tried several times screen show 38 mins cycle compare to 47 mms when you turn power On.

Just select quick wash last of the was cycle icons. The 38 minute cycle is the quick was cycle.. Normal cycle is 47 minutes, go figure...

Is there any way I can get my new top load FP washer to stop after the wash cycle to take out clothes that I don't want to go through a spin?
1 answer
Fisher&PaykelFisher & Paykel
Hi Sue,
The best option is to select Soak this will stop the machine for 2 hours, this will give you the option to make the machine stop prior to the spin cycle to remove clothing as required. If you require the machine to start up again you will need to take the soak option off.
Kind Regards,
Kylie.
