G’day. I have a 2008 3litre ranger. It’s never got hot n runs well but there is black oil sludge on the radiator cap seal? I took the egr cooler off and pressure tested it and it’s fine. Was wondering if it could be the oil cooler?

Yes me too replaced the crank angle sensor but coad still came up. Turned out it was timing belt but bent a valve or worse total rebuild. 2 year old belt 20k on clock government vehicle 120k never replaced belt from new.
Hi i have query about my 2007 pj ranger 3.0tdci, it blows a white "smoke" out the exhaust during idle and while driving and it does this while the engine is cold and im not to sure if it still does it when it gets the operating temp, i have blocked the EGR cooler thinking that it could be caused because of this but its still occurring. Thanks for the help
Only in cold weather? It's just condensation clearing out of the cat/mufflers.
I have a 2007 ford ranger 3 .0L I am having big troubles with glow plug lite coming on and the engine lite to come on I have to keep turning the key on and off so many times some times it can take 20 minutes for it to lite up any one let me now what the problem is I have rang every one that I could think of
3.0litre diesel replaced timing belt, have lined up all timing marks but still won’t start. Any ideas champions?

i dont know the cost of cleaning . how many ks on them ? i would replace anything over 250 ks with re furbished ones from bailys diesel group . also make sure the glow lugs are ok .
Fuse 10 and 3 keep blowing
Haven't had any dramas until other day fuse 10 blew which controls reverse lights and instrument cluster. And I've noticed now fuse 3 is also blowing 1 click past on the key every time
Fuse 3 is the wipers
I've looked around couldn't see anything noticeable

starts O.K when cold but very hard to start when hot
Jillian, how’s the temperature gauge and fluids, and when was it last serviced? ie. thorough going over, cooling system, electrics etc. They’ve been an incredible almost no maintenance value for money vehicle for a decade now and are due for some attention. My advice is be confident in spending some reasonable money through a ‘good’ mechanic that will run his eye over it thoroughly to see what needs doing.
My 07 model has been outback most of it’s life and never missed a beat in the cooling system with regular 2000km trips. My only starting issues when hot have been due to battery age, most of which come with the generic 2 yr warranty and fail right on time. I picked up an Indian made battery specifically designed for hot climates from Townsville Battery World...an Amaron, (green in colour) almost 5 yrs ago, with a 2 yr warranty. It’s been due for replacement now for about a year but keeps soldiering on through the hot starts and hot weather. ..cheers GLC

i purchased a 2007 ford ranger 2.5l diesel turbo from a friend . It had a blown head gasket and an intermittent fault and stopped for no reason. I rebuilt the engine but it cranks over but won,t fire . there is no fuel coming out of the injectors. It has manual locking doors. I have the same vehicle and swapped sensors to check, still no go

My 2007 ford ranger pj 2007 has an engine light on after going about 120km down a road no more then 3000rpm as well sounds find, no strange noises for bad performances. What could be the problem? Thanks.

the problem is you need to go get the code scanned cause it could be 1 of 100 different things.
