Rip off
NowJust had a dish installed at our new house 3days ago. Dish points towards a tree in the neighbour's yard today with a slight breeze blowing in an otherwise glorious cloudless day signal keeps dropping out with message "due to extreme cloud cover" noticed that every time signal dropped out the breeze was blowing a quick look confirmed tree branches moving slightly to the left block signal. Contacted Foxtel they tell me I will have to pay $200. to have the dish repositioned.
Ads and over priced
NowPaying for ads when Stan and Netflix’s AND Disney do not have ads and is at least half the price of Foxtel now. Rip off really. Foxtel really need to pick up their game. Netflix and Foxtel have joined arms and I’m finding that they are streaming the same movies. Sad!
Overpriced - Add Riddled - Monopolised News Content
Now$25 p/m to watch add riddled international news content is not a good business model. Since Murdoch poached CNN from Fetch TV's ($6p/m), why wouldn't you offer a similar service?
I'm really not interested in being forced into a $15 p/m pop channel subscription to make up your so-called 'Essential Package' only to watch the news. Your minimum cost of $25 per month for vastly add riddled garbage compared to other content - non-add providers, such as Netflix, Stan and BritBox, has a bang-for-buck rating of 0.
Come on, Murdoch, give a little back!
CNN, did you think this through?
Great in theory but fails to deliver
NowWe wanted a device to use to watch live tv, paid subscription apps and chromecast. We do not use foxtel and canceled after our 10day trial. The device is constantly having issues and it has already been replaced with a new one. Chromecast never works on either our first or second box and the apps will constantly stop working mid watching or log out of Disney plus almost every time that we watch something. Despite the low price point of the purchase. I would never recommend this product.

The biggest joke
NowFoxtel what a joke you are got one morning and my foxtel stops work after to robot it is not work so i ring up foxtel to get technical out is was 8/3/21 and tell me my technical will be out on 16/4/21 that's about 6 weeks with no foxtel and I have not had foxtel all this time I ask for 2 months free they said no what have to wait 6 weeks for a technician is a joke time sick foxtel
Worst streaming service ever
NowOverpriced for what you get. Complete lack of shows. The app is missing basic features like displaying the last thing you watched. Every time I wanted to watch my show, I had to look it up. I went past my 10 day free trail and forked over $25, only to find out that the only show I cared about on their platform was behind an additional paywall.
Don't waste your money.
Foxtel is rubbish
NowWould not recommend
they said my location is not serviced for Foxtel and that I have to purchase Foxtel now subscription which is $40-$60 more expensive I would not recommend at all
FREE TRIAL SCAM
NowJust like other online on demand subscriptions I had registered myself for the 10 day free trial. Oh boy did I know I would spend days chasing these fools just to cancel when I tried to log back in to cancel my subscription a day before the trial there was no option to do. So despite contacting through phone/chat nothing helped. This clearly showed how absolutely disgusting and very deceptive tactics they use in a way of luring customers into signing up for the trail while they actual start charging you the day you sign up for the trial. Despit
... Read moree getting in touch with three modes of customer service first, the overseas based customer service was hopeless the person was very rude and lacked professionalism, when asked why was I charged they asked me it was in the fine print which sounds misleading, the chat bot linked to a person and went on transferring to another at the end they disconnected. Finally got hold of the technical team to terminate the account and to confirm that I wont be charged anymore. To be honest FOXTEL is displaying low standards. Disappointed and will never return back nor will recommend anyone in AUSTRALIA to use FOXTEL.Foxtel - Shining beacon of misleading and deceptive conduct
NowFoxtel is the hero of misleading and deceptive conduct. I was billed over 19 months $104 per month for a service I never used once. Yes, I signed up for a free trial. Somehow I got signed up to every channel/service they have. But they never ONCE sent me a tax invoice to see what I was being charged. The charge on the credit card looks like it is for my internet (which we get via Telstra on the Foxtel cable) so we never thought anything of it. Their customer service people are rude and dismissive. They are a business built on subscriptions that people forget they have. What a disgrace. They hide behind their weasel-worded T&Cs. It's no wonder they are dying a slow death.

Absolute piece of garbage
NowBy far the worst streaming service and application around. Freezes, fails to stream at times, UI is clunky. Scrolling through the channels is cumbersome. Does not compare to Netflix or Prime for content either.
Deceptive Company
NowI signed up for a free trial and instead got charged for a month ($26) . No warning that I was going to be charged . Deceptive, thieving company. Also the fact there are ads when you are paying a premium price is so pathetic and greedy .
On Demand dropped with no warning and no solution provided
NowWithout no warning whatsover we have suddenly lost access to the On Demand service. When I rang up to query this I was told that to access this I would have to upgrade my service - however the service could not be upgraded in my area for at least six months! Given I live within 5kms of the CBD and in a high density area I find this quite remarkable. They were happy to cut the services available on my package with no solution and no discount to the cost. It was only when I took it further that they reluctantly gave me a $20 discount per month for the next six months. I do wonder if they are deliberately trying to run Foxtel down to bankruptcy as the service mismanagement is beyond belief.

Technicians dont show up - abysmal customer service
NowAfter ordering Foxtel, the technician failed to show on 2 occasions. when ringing to complain after the second failure, I'm told I don't know why a technician is visiting we can do this remotely. 24 hours passes, still no broadband - oh we did a check last night and there was a failure, a technician needs to visit, well be in touch in 24 - 48 hours. I should point out that they have already started debiting money from my account. at no point are they interested in sorting the internet at home. What a load of rubbish
Pathetic waste of money
NowI generally don't write nasty reviews, but there was always going to be one or 2. And here goes...
On numerous occasions Ive signed up and then cancelled my foxtel now plan, i mean to begin with, who in their right mind would pay $25 a month for the same shows repeated ad nausea, over and over, but that's not all, the advertisements like many mention are that long and annoying, some ads repeated twice per ad break. Then the next ad break, same ads again, and again. Who the hell programs this crap? Even worse is the fact you'll watch say "Border
this is so bad that it shows ads on a paid streaming service?
Nowseriously just get Netflix or amazon prime, this is a joke or a competitors showing back to back 15-second ads on ever new stream. pathetic. it's shocking how these people are not out of business yet.
Foxtel Go + Foxtel Cable + Kayo - wish I could give zero stars
NowAs a long term Foxtel user, we wanted an extra iQ box to connect to our cable service. They refused to do this as they will now only offer satellite to new customers - 'but we're not new customers - we're currently on cable'. No way would they supply another iQ box. We had to pay to upgrade to satellite and have a technician out to fix a dish to our 100 year old house - not happening. So we pay a Multi Room fee to use Foxtel Go app on the Samsung tv in the other room. It is the worst technology - constantly freezing and buffering to the point t
... Read morehat it is unwatchable. Note that all other streaming services such as Netflix, SBS On Demand ABC iView etc all run without issue. We then ditched the Multi Room fee, stopped using Foxtel Go and moved to Kayo (also owned by Foxtel) - it appears to be same tech platform as we had the same issues of freezing and buffering. All the 'help' and response to emails puts the issue on the internet speed rather than their own technology. Not only does every non-Foxtel service stream perfectly, our NBN broadband works fine and ..oh by the way... our Broadband service provider is Foxtel!!!Unable to cancel FoxtelNow
NowWe signed up for a Telstra Smart TV where Foxtelnow was free, for 12 month period -we don't use FoxtelNow, we missed the email to cancel the subscription and Called Telstra to cancel FoxtelNow from our billing. We also tried to call FoxtelNow to also cancel the subscription as the account was in suspension and we still are unable to cancel via online and waited 35 minutes on my mobile to no avail. Still unable to cancel this service. Extremely frustrating as we did not ask to be signed up for membership, it came free with the Telstra Smart TV and now they are still billing us. Can someone help as we can't seem to talk to a person and their livechat is not available for us to use.
Communication extremely difficult
NowDifficult to communicate with and pay bills etc especially the Telstra/Foxtel package... kept getting passed back and forth... extremely frustrating...
Have left will Never go back to Foxtel... not worth the time and effort
Not worth the money
NowThey have the same amount of ads as show, and the ads are so repetitive!
The app is plagued with glitches and errors. It’s also constantly buffering, and we have great internet.
Do NOT even get me started on the phone app, it’s pretty much unusable with Chrome cast.
Foxtel also won’t work with Nord VPN.
We pay $30 a month for this. It’s so frustrating..
Slow streaming
NowFoxtel's app is outdated compared to stan, Netflix & Disney.
The streaming quality is appalling, when I login it takes about 5 minutes.
Let's be clear foxtel is not cheap, far more expensive than stan Netflix & Disney.
Buffering bananas in the booty
NowI can stream any other service over my 50mbs NBN. But foxtel.buffers buffers buffers EVEN THE ADS BUFFER 2 hours of footage took 3.5 hours to watch through buffering on a Friday night prime time or not they sold a service they need infrastructure to deliver it. Crop streaming not worth a ducks turd
Not what i was expecting
NowI was hoping to use this box on a projector for free to air and some streaming apps. The first thing you have to do is sign up to foxtel even if you are not planning to use foxtel, so when there is no internet, you cant use it even if you just want to watch free to air. Secondly, free to air is mixed in with all the foxtel channels even if you arent subscribed to them, meaning you have to scroll up or down through several channels to get to the channel you want to watch.... very slow process. Last thing i dislike about this box, no prime video
... Read moreapp? So now the foxtel box is back in its box, waste of money, i wanted to buy the vodafone tv box which is no longer available, damn shame because this foxtel box is not even close, you are better off with a cheap chinese android box.Worst product on the market
NowBelieve me when I say this,
I have never posted a review online before...
I agree with all the other 1 star reviews. Buffering issues, crashing all the time and a heap more problems. I have two in my house and it has been the worst decision I’ve made. I even contacted Foxtel with a few tech questions and they were useless!! I can’t stress this enough... Don’t waste your money!!!
Not a good service.
NowI have been using foxtel now for some time as free trial from telstra have stopped it now as trial period is over, was a customer for a long time but got too expencive and too many adds now, other streaming services better.
Foxtel go constant buffering
NowCan't watch more than 10 seconds of rugby on foxtel sports via Go app without buffering. Absolutely terrible. No problem streaming any other service with my connection. Cheap infrastructure, save your money.
Foxtel Now Box terrible
NowThere’s no way to sugar-coat this: the Foxtel Now Box is unreliable junk. It’s rare that I can sit down and watch a show without it crashing and restarting. I have 2 or them exhibiting the same problems, and so does a friend.
The frustration level was so high, that I cancelled my Foxtel Now subscription. In hindsight, the Foxtel Now service was pretty poor value anyway.
Disgusting
NowThese guys charge 25$ a month, then on top of that still expect me to watch up to 3 or 4 ads before my episodes start? these guys are losing their mind, I hope they lose all their business. Additional, No skip intro, a really bad playback system, lacks options.
Most arrogant customer service I have ever experienced
NowFoxtel is relying on their monopoly to keep customers rather than offering good value and decent customer service. We recently had technical problems for days, told the problem was being escalated but after 3 days and no reply, we cancelled our subscription until they fixed the problem. Now two weeks later and the issue is resolved, but to re-sign up, we would need to pay almost double the price as we ‘were on an old pricing structure.’ And to add insult to injury, they will only refund 3 days of our subscription for the period we were unab
... Read morele to watch, as they allege we did not reply to their email query so they ‘closed the case’. Goodbye Foxtel, there’s plenty of other options out there these days and out of principle I will not subscribe to a company to treats long term customers in such a manner.Read this one
NowWe have recently moved from an apartment complex in Botany to a town house in Botany. We have had Foxtel for years and my partner particularly enjoys the reality shows offered so she was looking forward to continuing these shows at our new abode. Our town house has been pre-wired for Foxtel as part of the new development, so it’s got the cable ready to go.
My partner had numerous long and exhausting phone calls, messaging and emails to get a technician to attend and connect us. They insisted we required a satellite dish however we have cable p
... Read morere installed and ready to go. We moved into our new abode, the technician attended at the time advised and went about connecting us. He initially stated he was here for a satellite dish connection which we advised no, it was cable and it was pre wired as part of the new development. He tested the connection at the NBN box and then at the TV connection and stated yes we had cable connection. We were required to go to the IQ3 box from the IQ4 box. Okay. The technician had the connection and was ready to go on our account. He then rang Foxtel to change the connection to the cable, which was connected and working. Foxtel advised him no, it could only be a satellite dish. We have the cable connection, it was working, it was ready to go.Terrible
NowThis media player is so so so bad, there plans are not fair as they loop in channels you don’t need but have to get to get the one, like sports I don’t need sports but I have to pay for 2 x sports channels to as its grouped. They are absolute robbers and not ethical at all. $129 just to watch a few shoes that I love. I hope these shoes start to move to other streaming services as they are not realistic and need to go.
Terrible media player
NowThis media player is nightmare, has every issue in the world. I can't believe it's a $100, I wouldn't accept this thing for free. STAY AWAY FROM IT and maybe get a mi box and install the Foxtel app.
Terrible
NowAlways buffering and at times just unwatchable. How Foxtel can justify charging what they do and include advertising is incomprehensible. Every other streaming service seems to be able to manage except Foxtel which charges substantially more. Best avoided.
Don't Do It
NowOne of the worst media streaming devices I've had the misfortune to own. Logs out frequently. Needs to be reset constantly for apps to work. Currently locked out. Hate it.
Worst streaming platform available
NowFirst it was the SMS I received informing me that I needed to pay an outstanding bill for Foxtel Now lest I lose access.... Predatory phrasing to make people fearful that they owe a debt for a month to month subscription model? Not cool.
Now it’s the advertisements that sometimes play before a show. I’m told that it’s an important revenue stream for Foxtel Now to bring us the latest and greatest.... absolute rubbish. Foxtel Now is much more expensive than other streaming platforms at $25 minimum per month and for that exorbitant price I expect
... Read more there to be ZERO ads. Don’t frame ads as beneficial for the consumer, because it’s not. Thankfully I don’t pay for my subscription thanks to the free trials I get from Telstra otherwise I wouldn’t bother with this greedy platform.Slow - always buffering
NowHave had Foxtel Now app for some time. Connected via Ethernet. The app is always buffering and at times it unwatchable. Speedtest on Internet connect reveal I have 50mb/s service and all other streaming services work well.
Just Not Good Enough
NowDisney, Amazon Prime, Netflix..............................all stream great in UHD on our 55" TV.
Foxtel only offers up to HD, yet buffers way way way too often on the same setup.
It does usually work OK on the phone/laptop but in 2020 it's woeful performance, hardwired end to end through NBN on the TV, at its already way behind the competition max HD setting is just not acceptable,
Throw in its pricing and 1 star looks very complimentary for this very very poor experience.
Constant buffering
NowI have Netflix, Stan, Amazon’s Prime, Apple TV+ and they all stream seamlessly on my fast NBN connection. Yet Foxtel Go can’t seem to go more than 2 minutes without having to buffer and it’s not even playing HD content. It seems to struggle with just SD video. Tested on different devices that other apps have no issue with so it is just a Foxtel issue. Thankfully I’m a free plan right now but once it ends I won’t subscribe.
Rip off
NowFoxtel now is very expensive . There's nothing to watch . Worse pay tv on the planet . Stay away from it, to be able to watch channels you like you need to subscribe all packs . They shod be banned from business . If I could I would give them 0 stars .
Terrible service buffering every 5 seconds
NowBuffering every 5 seconds gets on my nerves even if the service free for ever I will not use it thankfully it’s a 10 days free trial I have no problems watching any other service none Netflix Stan prime sbs on demand and so on but Foxtel now should be eliminated
Just watched Perry mason- Perfect
NowNever had any trouble downloading Foxtel. They have so many programs from all the news services
And a huge amount to watch. I’m surprised so many bad comments. Just look at the range offered. I’ve only got basic and drama but that’s enough. It does annoy me however that if I want to contact Foxtel to downgrade, as I wanted to change drama to movies, I have to phone 131999, and it is impossible to get through or even voice my annoyance. With Netflix it’s just a case of going online.
