Would give 0 stars if I could

published

Yep - Im actually now that guy... Just read the other comments as to how bad this really is.

Can I get the cost of the product back plus the cleaning fee to get this sh*t off my carpet? (because yes it has left marks everywhere)

Purchased in May 2021.

Don't bother

Please read the reviews (I wish I did)...this would have to be the worst cleaning product I have ever used! As with other reviews it sprayed out like silly string & left "string" marks everywhere so our carpet looks worse than before.

Does not perform

Ditto previous poor reviews. Used as instructed, foam came out unevenly, on a frequently walked on area of carpet, not very soiled. Still waiting for foam to dry after at least 1 hour. HELP

I just sprayed a can of Silly String on my carpet

published

I am so disappointed, wished I'd read these review's first. Years ago I used this and it was brilliant, I even specifically asked my husband buy this brand when he did the shopping.
It foamed up fine but the nozzle didnt spray an even band, it just shot it out like silly string. This also means the coverage stated on the can was no where near the coverage in reality.

Would not foam.

published

I will never use this again. I bought it because I used it years ago and it was brilliant then. I used a whole can in a small bedroom. It took hours to dry and left streaks on my carpet. I will need to get a professional in to clean my carpet.

Freedom Pledge Carpet Foam doesn't foam, and doesn't clean

published

I shook the can until my arm ached but I still could not get this product to spray an even foam- just globs in thick strings that I had to manually even out using a damp cloth so my carpet would not show spotting. After using twice the amount of product to cover the floor because it would not coat evenly, my carpet looks pretty much the same as it did before I started. I would not use this product again, as it is a waste of money.

Ohh no I wish I had read the reviews !

published

I had 3 small vaseline spots on my carpet from my dog's sore elbow.
Now I have 3 ugly massive stains on my carpet after using this product ! Terrible !
Now I will have to pay a professional and hope he can repair this damage .
I am actually stunned that this product is allowed on the market .
Don't risk it . Do not use this Freedom carpet foam cleaner. Very disappointed.

Rubbish

published

I wish I had read the reviews first. Rookie error. I was looking to see if anyone else had the same problem as me and if they could fix it.
My carpet looks like a stained powdery mess after using this spray. I hope it is not ruined as I live in a rental. I did a spot check as instructed and had no problems. Now that my whole living room has been sprayed and vacuumed I can see it's a mess. Do not buy??

Silly string

published

Sprays out like silly string so impossible to get the light even layer, then leaves a tacky feeling to the carpet once dried. Dont feel this product helped at all.

greasy mess

published

Exactly as review (1) said, ended up with a greasy mess and a ruined rug, followed instructions to the letter, would need at least 5 cans to do 10 sq mtrs as it stays on the can.
It's rubbish!

this product is a load of rubbish!

published

When I tried to spay it on the rug I could only get a thick blotchy layer of foam and it only covered about 3 square metres of the rug. It was supposed to cover up to 10 square metres. After 30 minutes it was no way near dry. Over two hours later it wasn't much better. Decided to get it off the rug because I thought it may bleach. I was left with a great greasy mess . I have now taken the whole rug outside and tried to wash it off. Please, please do not buy this rubbish.

DON'T BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS!!

published

After reading the bad reviews I was at the returns counter ready with my newly purchased can of carpet cleaner, with receipt, and expecting a refund when the lady told me she had used the product 2 weeks earlier and thought it did a great job. At our country supermarket the other option was that one in the bright pink packaging and I Know! that that one doesn't work. So I decided to take her word for it and came back home and used it. Not a problem; and it definitely worked better than the pink one. Must beware of who actually posts bad reviews.

Back to New

published

Had three rust spots in my NEW carpet that was caused by the underside of an old suit case. All I had in the house was Freedom Carpet Foam. Although this product is NOT recommended as a spot cleaner I wanted this stain gone! At first it looked like i was going to live with a bigger darker patch; but with a little patience and reapplication it was restored back to new, thankfully!

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! IT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE ALLOWED ONE STAR.

published

Like most other reviewers (which unfortunately I did not read before I used this product), I wanted to remove small red wine stains from my light mushroom wool carpet from a knocked over glass of wine. Not only did it not remove the stains, like most others, the area where I used it has visible foam marks from where it was sprayed and nothing I've done can get them out. Not my Dyson, not my Volta. It looks a mess. I will have to have a professional carpet cleaner to fix the horrible stains. I am just hoping that this dreadful product has not actually bleached my carpet.

Terrible

published

I bought 2 cans to treat stains on wool carpet (Dirt from boots). The results were terrible, actually 400% worse and thought I would need to replace 90m sq of carpet. Went over again with Cavalier Bremworth carpet stain remove with excellent results. Freedom should not be able to sell the complete rubbish, Lucky not to be sued.

Avoid this product

published

Just as Dera and Monika have described, the foam dries to leave a sticky residue which can't be vacuumed from the carpet. I used it over an area about a meter square hoping to 'revive' it and remove a small mark. The area is now white with distinct stripes where the product sat and the original mark is still there. I didn't do a spot test because I wrongly assumed it was a product I'd used previously. Hopefully you are reading this review before you purchase a carpet shampoo.

Freedom is the best I've tried

published

Freedom is the best supermarket-available carpet cleaner I've tried. Removed stains in high traffic areas where other products failed abysmally. Problem I'm finding is lack availability in Woolworths and Coles. What gives?

Can you leave freedom foam carpet cleaner on over night?

I would not use it at all. I had to get in my hands and knees and scrub the white residue off after leaving it on for 30mins.

I have used this product years ago and I left it on over night to help the oxidation activated ingredients work properly. I broomed it into the carpet to make sure no spots were missed. The carpet came up perfectly and I was impressed. Take my word it works properly!
