Disappointed
We purchased the Freedom chocolate Lucas corner lounge & like others our leather also started peeling on one seat.
Disappointed
Perfect lounge range i have had my 3 lounges for over 10 years, wanting to upgrade to the recliner only to be told its discontinued... for crappy overpriced and ugly looking lounges bring back the lucas range.... you still have the signature range after all these years so why not keep the lucas?? Freedom just lost a loyal customer

Bought a 3 seat sofa bed in choc leather. Was floor stock so very good price. Has been an excellent main couch and the sofa bed has come in hand on many an occasion. Leather has held its shape very well. Would highly recommend.

Freedom - dismissive of issues. Never again!
I was thrilled with this couch until I noticed the leather peeling after less than 2 years. This was not our main couch and was lightly used. I contacted Freedom and they sent someone out to evaluate the couch. The response was that it wasn't looked after properly and maintained with polish regularly enough. I queried this as I have another couch that is 20 years old and no peeling, but they insisted that it was my fault. Fantastic, blame the customer! I can see from other reviews that I was not the only person with this problem and Freedom have taken no responsibility whatsoever. I have vowed never to purchase from freedom again.

Very disappointed
I purchased a leather 3 seater and 2 seater from Freedom about 7 years ago and am very disappointed. Whilst I am delayed in reviewing, the issues I have actually started years ago. Our leather started peeling first on my husbands seat and then patchy parts in other areas. As we hadn’t owned leather suite in the past wasn’t sure how to deal with it. I will also add we purchased the leather cleaner and conditioner at the same time but made no difference. I will not purchase from Freedom again. I notice a similar sofa is still for sale at freedom (Lucas) and in their add they state “don’t worry about the kids, it is very durable” hmm I don’t think so.

I purchased 3 & 2 Seater some years ago in Pebble colour looked beautiful and sooo comfortable I loved the colour and texture & style..... Soon after the Warranty finished I noticed something hanging off the underside of armrest on 2 seater that no-one sits on to my surprise the leather was actually peeling off and so gradually all of the under arm rest started peeling now the seams are peeling and the back of lounge also..I am an elderly woman and the only one who sits on it on one particular spot its still very comfy...So its getting to the s

I was told " We sell hundreds of these and never had this problem before" Cant do anything its out of Warranty.... Was I just unlucky to get faulty batch of leather??? Or is it not leather in parts??? Love to hear from anyone else with same issues.. Sadly disappointed..... This is an excellent product, don't be put-off by the naysayers...
We have a 3 seat lucas sofa bed and a single lucas chair which we have owned for 6 years. This furniture is in a kids play room and gets hammered. It has kept its shape and the leather has stood the test of time extremely well. Personally, I think all sofa beds are uncomfortable to sit on as well as lay one but I have had a number of guests (who don't mind telling me the truth) say, the lucas was surprisingly good to sleep on. Yes, the seat cushions do slip out but only if you don't secure them with the buckle provided....then they don't move a
... Read moret all. Stop whingeing folks and actually have a look at the piece of furniture you bought and see how it works ! We are so pleased with this sofa bed we have just purchased a second (a different colour this time). We could not find another leather sofa bed in that price range that looks as good and is as comfortable as the lucas to sit on and that's the bottom-line here because although it converts to a bed most sofa beds get used more as a sofa then a bed. I'm only writing this review (I don't normally) because I stumbled onto this and after reading the other "unhappy" comments I thought you readers deserved a bit of balance because typically it's only those who are "unhappy" with items that actually write reviews. The lucas is a great lounge and it has been a top seller at Freedom for almost 10 years ......I wonder why that could be....yes, because its good ?Had this lounge for 10 years!
I bought a 2&3 seater lucas from freedom 10 years ago and it still looks amazing. Gets used every day, along with 2 golden retrievers and it is holding up amazingly. I'm so happy with it. The leather has worn in well the seat cushions have held their shape. Still as comfy as ever!

This sofa has put me off Freedom furniture
I bought the Lucas modular in October 2013 and just over three years later it has to be the most uncomfortable sofa to sit on. I had the foam looked at and repaired under warranty but it is still no good - it provides no support whatsoever. I was assured of the foam's quality but based on my experience with this sofa I won't risk buying any further sofas from Freedom.

We are in a similar situation compared to the previous reviewer, Normad59.
Bought the sofa (2 + 3 seater) 4+ years ago, it was hardly sat on as it was in our guest lounge, now that we use it more we found that all cushions are saggy and provides no support. It is actually uncomfortable to sit on. Was not cheap so am not happy about this.
I'm not sure if i should bother contact Freedom about this, looks like ppl have had bad customer service.
Anyone else got their sofa repaired by an external party in Auckland NZ? Any recommendation? I would rather fix it with new internal cushions and keep it to use than throw it away, seems like a waste and horrible to the environment.
worst sofa ever!!
Bought this 2 & 3 seater couple of years ago, has been sitting in our best lounge hardly sat on, now we moved and sit on it (were both small and not overweight) all cushions have sagged no support, leather crinkles terribly, worst value sofa Ive ever bought!! Went back to store and told them, because it was 4yrs old he just shrugged and said foam is better now and walked away... nice customer service Don't buy this range of Freedom furniture

Regret
Had to do a warranty fix on the modular, and cushions were replaced during the fix that are hard and have a different shape to other cushions and looks like other seats are broken now too. 2.5 years old! Seriously not impressed.
Freedom Lucas sofa bed- bed is great but i hate this sofa!
I purchased this sofa only 5 months ago, I went to the store, tried it out, sat on it, laid on it, basically went right over it after looking for a good sofa bed and this one seemed to tick all the boxes, comfort tick, looks good tick, comfy big fold out bed tick. The sofa bed that I received the cushions are rock hard, sit higher than the normal non sofa 2 seaters that I also purchased and the 3 cushions that are all joined together as one slide out when you're sitting on it so you have to constantly get up and push it back in, grrrrrrr so

I purchased the 2 seater as I said earlier, very comfortable I love it but I hate the sofa bed buy a blow up mattress and stick to the non sofa bed version unless you are never going to use it as a lounge just a bed then its fine! bed is comfy enough considering its a fold out, big to (queen size) the whole loung part, extremly uncomfortable i wont use it at allWe find comfort at last
This is a very comfortable lounge. My partner is much taller than I yet we both find this lounge suits us both. The design enables getting from sitting to standing with ease. It has good back support. We have the modulator style and it fits perfectly into our smallish lounge room.

Questions & Answers
I purchased a 3-seat Lucas Lawson Pebble sofa in January 2021 and now find that one cushion has sagged so much that it is uncomfortable to sit on. What advice can you give me to fix this problem?

Where is Lucas furniture manufactured? I have been told that the Lucas brand is made in the USA but that seems unlikely. Can anyone confirm the place of manufacture.
Thanks
When I first received my lounge they were different colours but they were very happy to replace it but said I would need to wait as it was coming from Vietnam so who knows maybe the trouble I've had may have been where it was made....Possible change in manufacturer.....Never heard anything about USA...Im so disappointed as it looks so shabby peeling under the armrests and now the back of 3 seater, its still very comfortable and holding its shape well the rest looks great still....
