This is it
I have been looking for a not complicated bike for long, and I like simple setup and clean layout, internal gear is the way to go for me, as I know Shimano (plus I have a bike with S. Archer inter-8 before) will provide the quality i need. Hurdle in front of me was the list price, until recent sale for older product, where there is virtually no functional differences, other than some cosmetic changes between 2014 and 2015. And I happilly bought this; seek 1 2014 and i am a happy boy since!

Excellent Robust Commuter Bicycle
I was becoming concerned about the enviornmental impact I was having, driving around everywhere in a sedan with only one person in it, so I recently purchased a Giat Seek 2 bicycle for commuting purposes, and I have to say this is an overall excellent bike.
It has a sturdy frame and puncture reistant tires, that provides me with the psychological reassurance to know that this bike can be pushed without too much concern.

mountain bikes from large commercial retail outlets, and was completely unaware of the differences between a cheap bike, and a good quality one. This bike has also unexpectedly made cycling a joy for me now, and I'm now cycling everywhere! The best investment I've made this year. A great all rounder
After commuting on a road bike for some time I was a bit concerned about transferring to what is essentially a hybrid (call it a cross sport utility bike if you prefer) but have been pleasantly surprised. I needed a bike that was robust enough to tow my kids (2 in a trailer or one on a seat, the road bike just couldn't handle the pressure) while still allowing me to get to work and back in a reasonable time. ms and 32c tyres make for a quick and relatively effortless commute on the pavement while the frame makes the bike strong enough to handle almost anything. This is the first bike I have had with disc brakes and after nearly going over the handlebars the first time I stopped I am impressed by the responsiveness and feel. They work just as well in the wet as the dry which is something that can't be said for V brakes. The transfer to an upright seating position took some getting used to but on long hauls I find it much more comfortable than riding a drop bar. Last of all the look of the bike is Boss. With a deep red matte finish and minimal decals it looks like something a ninja would ride to his daily assassination assignments. Nice commuter!
I am 183cm, 85kg and needed a comfortable and relatively quick urban commuter for a combo of road and cyclepaths. I had a budget around $600 to $700. I am used to the upright position of non - suspended mountain bikes, so was looking at flat bar alternatives. I was amazed at the choice and different options available. l bike shop in Coffs Harbour which matched the city retailers. Apart from fitting a slightly shorter head stem and a rear bag rack and lights it is stock, although after a couple of torn valve stems I drilled out the valve stem holes and fitted the more practical schrader tubes. I have been commuting now for over 6 months and love it. The 700 x 32mm semi slick tyres and stock seat give sufficient comfort and the tyres - cable disc brakes combo give great feel and have never let me down. Rolling resistance is low enough to make good commute times and although the wide flat bar set up gives good control in tricky traffic situations I often finding myself crouching to beat the wind on the long hauls. The gear shifters are smooth although the range is on the low side and I am often looking for a couple of extras on the high end when downhill. The bike is quite stable at speed. While the dull silver grey paint job may not be to everyone's liking I prefer it to the current bling fashion and find it very serviceable and scratch resistent. What tyre width sizes can fit? Minimum to maximum.

It came with 700c 50mm-wide Schwalbe big apple, beige.
don't think there are many 700c tyres much wider than that.
As the rim width (inner) is around 19-21mm, was told that it fits tyres wider than 25mm, some guys fit in 23mm, but I am not sure what risk it poses, such as slipping out off rims while cornering.
