It depends on two things are you wanting to curl your hair also with the straightener or just straighten? If you want best value for money you can not go wrong with the GP501- I have long Asian hair but has a kink wave in it - I use the Gp501 and couldn't ask for anything better will never use another product best thing about glam palm no heat protector needed but I do use Moroccan oil once hair is cool hope this helps and merry Christmas

The GP201 will do the trick!

Asia G

Hey Steff I would agree with the recommendation of the GP201 for me personally with hip length thick stubborn Asian hair with a slight kink wave is freshly washed towel and air dry hair ( blow out causes flyways and static to my hair) I then either use soft rollers to bed or if I have some kind of event I light blast my hair then when dry heat rollers - Then my secret weapon is the GP201 to enhance and define curls. Finding the right products is key and once you have them it's easy but with glam palm heat is your friend you don't even need heat protection it's amazing :) Not endorsed or paid by glam palm just an extremely satisfied customer but will take anything if they offer

I want to straighten and curl long fine hair. Is the 201 the best option? Would like to work faster if the bigger plates would curl fine hair that will hold. Also is there a product you would recommend to hold curls for all day dance performances?

If you have long fine hair the 313, or the simple touch would ideal. The 501 is fantastic but it is more designed for long thick hair. I'm sure the 501 would work equally as good in your hair, but as the plates are that bit wider, the curls would possibly be wider.
As for holding curls, Moroccan Curl control mousse or Moroccan curl defining creamy (they have a heat protector in them) once you've curled wait for it to cool and give a short spray of hairspray. Just remember though putting a hair straightener on hair that has hairspray on it, is not a good thing.

I am a hairdresser and i would recommend GP 201 or simpletouch as your hair is fine. The curls will last longer when you curl with one of those straighteners.:)
For the hair spray i agree with Sunlily's answer.

I have medium length thick hair with frizz. I had an original GHD for 9 years but now needs to be replaced. Im after a model that keeps the frizz out all day and takes 1-2 passes through the hair to straighten but wont fry the ends. What model do you recommend?

1 answer

Sunlily

I'd recommend the GP 501, it has 11 heat settings so you can adjust the heat. This is the one I have and I love it. It doesn't fry the ends however I always use a heat protection product ( I use de Lorenzo thermal treatment and Argan oil) and regular hair cuts or trims. But I swear by GlamPalm hair straighteners. You will love it. As has been mentioned before section into 1.5 cms lots and start with the middle setting, if you find it too hot, turn it down or if you need turn it up, but only one temp setting at a time.

Hi, I have wavy - almost curly hair that is quite prone to breakage because I have thin hairs. It is sometimes pretty frizzy. The length varies -- sometimes short-mid-long. I want my hair to be just really straight but not limp, that's why I go to the hairdresser often, but would like to do it at home quickly as well. I was looking to buy the GP 225 (the one with the vibrate feature), do you reckon I should get this type? Or maybe the the 501? Need your input soon, looking to buy within this week! :)

Hi Suryani,
I'd personally go with what GlamPalm have suggested. As they use all of the products often they are in a better position to advise than I am. But I love my GlamPalm and would not even consider an inferior product. One thing I would suggest though is ALWAYS use a heat protectant before straightening, I use De Lorenzo Defence Extinguish Spray and also De Lorenzo Argan Finishing Oil. I love how they protect my hair and the smell is divine.
Best wishes

Thank you so much for the answers.. Just a slight problem, I live in Indonesia and I just found out that here they only have the GP501, GP225, GP232 for the straightening ones. :(( So I guess the question would be which out of these 3 would be the best? Thanks again! Also -- I'll see if I can find the heat protectant, sounds good!

Hi,
I have long straight hair but I regularly like to curl and wave my hair when I go out or straighten small sections if it gets lumpy. What model do you recommend for me?
Also, does the healing technology result in any oiliness?

Hi there,
We would recommend the GP501 is you like big curls or GP201 if you like tighter curls (ringlets). The Healing Stone Technology does not result in any oiliness but leaves the hair silky and smooth.

I would say depends on what your hair type is. I have wavey hair, but quite thin so I stuck with the base 201 model. They have a styler guide on their website that will help you decide what will works best for your hair. Hope this helps you decide! I love mine.

They both give good result for straightening hair, but I've found GlamPalm is easier for curling as it glides smoothly. Only one drawback is the hot plate is slightly smaller so you can't curl big chunk of hair at once.

Hi!

I have medium length relatively thick hair and was wondering which would be best for straightening and curling?

1 answer
GlamPalm
GlamPalm A.GlamPalm

Hi KateJay,

Thank you for your email.
We would recommend you the GP313 (32mm wide plate) as with thick hair it will straighten and wave/curl well.
If you are used to a normal straightener (24mm wide plates) and you like that size you definitely can also go with the GP201 however straightening can take just that little bit longer as less hair is touching the plates at once.
If you like the tighter curls (ringlets) we would recommend you the GP201.

All our irons come with premium packaging, a heatproof clutch bag, a heat cap, 2 sectioning clips and 2 year warranty.

I have long (nearly half way down my back) hair although I might get it cut a bit shorter, my hair is normal in thickness. I like the size of the 313 but I still want to be able to do a bit of curling/wave, would this still be possible with the 313? because it says it's mainly for straightening.
Thanks!

I haven't found a way to curl the hair with the 313 but I am really style "challenged" when it comes to hair lol and have never been able to curl my hair with any straightening iron very well. As you say, they do really only recommend the 313 for straightening http://www.glampalm.com.au/category-s/1829.htm (I too opted for the 313 based on the size). The 313s are good for me because I have natural curls and just need it for straightening but I think that I would consider the other models in hindsight for the curling option. Maybe to be sure you get the best model for you, you could chat with them on their FB page, "Glampalm Australia" which they seem quite active on :)

GlamPalm
GlamPalm A.GlamPalm

Hi Justine,
Thank you for your question.
The GP313 was originally mainly designed for straightening. People with normal and thicker hair will be able to wave and curl with it however it will take a little bit more practice as the barrel flatter. if you like ringlet curls or strong-hold curls we would recommend the GP201.

Hi There sounds like my kinda hair, I purchased the GP501 I went with this to cut back the straightening time, I find the wide plates cover the big sections an as I have thick frizzy curly hair it tends to penetrate through my hair shafts
