Amazing service

Exceptional service and low prices
Despite some older reviews, I found the service here to be excellent (I believe it changed owners recently). Deb spent around an hour with my mum and me, explaining and demonstrating prams and furniture. When I returned with my partner, she took the time to showcase everything all over again. She has an outstanding knowledge of their models of prams and was only too happy to answer our many queries. She was friendly, patient and professional. Can't get a better customer service than this
I believe a lot of negative comments were written while the store was under previous management. The new owners are fantastic and i think they have been there only for a year or so.
We were looking to buy a lot of baby things such as pram, cot, rocker, change table, bath tub etc etc... We tried a lot of shops but one of the main issues we experienced in other shops were they were not interested to go into detail and explain about different types of prams, etc.

owing demo of each and every pram and the great thing about it was they were not even trying to push us on buying the most expensive ones like other shops did. Not just about prams but for all the other products as well they explained the difference, advantages and disadvantages very patiently. They gave me a quote for all those products we discussed with them and asked me to think about it and not rush into buying. I took the quote and compared with other shops online. They were pretty much the same price or bit less. Then when i decided to buy those products, they gave me a very good discount and also gave us couple of things for free to top it up. I live just couple of streets from this shop so the owner said why waste money on transport and he would be happy to deliver them in his personal car even though i felt bad and politely declined it. It's been about 6 months since we bought all those products and have been there few times since then and I must say the customer service is still great and i am very happy with all the products i bought.1 comment

Great service, very helpful and fast delivery!
I'm surprised by the negative reviews, I had a great experience with this store.
I was trying to find a Mountain Buggy in a particular colour but everywhere I tried was sold out and very unhelpful. I called Glen Huntly and the gentleman I spoke to said he would try and track one down for me. He called me back 5 minutes later saying he could get one for me in 2 weeks, so I placed the order.

A bunch of weirdos.
I've been in their store once and there was literally no one else there shopping around but there were 6 staff at the counter for such a small store that doesn't seem like they even get any business. re putting the transaction through.. Like all of them stood around and just eyed me, my husband and my son off.. I really don't know the word for it but I've watched enough horrors to describe the scene. Now I vowed not to go there again after that but recently made a purchase with them through the phone as they are the only baby shop that sell this particular item that's been discontinued elsewhere. New owners, great service
It is worth the trip to Baby Carriage for me. I live right near two other baby stores but I like this local store so much more. The staff are friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I have an Uppa Baby Pram and was after a few accessories for it. I called and ordered over the phone, two days later the products were in store to pick up. They have a great selection of high quality clothes brands and all reasonably priced. The store looks small from the outside but step inside and you will find the store very deep and a second story. I look forward to my next purchase and heading into Baby Carriage and seeing Steven and the team.

Excellent local baby shop
We recently purchased a cot, service was excellent, price good, they loaded up the car, so went back and bought a change table also. If they stocked the Stokke pram, we would've bought that from them also.

New owners (friendly and helpful)
Came into the babycarriages and were suprised to find that there were new owners in the store. there appears to be a smaller and more select group of products but overall a great experience. It was great to see the staff have not changed and that everyone is smiling and helping out with hints and suggestions as to what would be a great gift... IF you have not been to babycarriages for some time i would encourage you to take the time and say hello again

Very Happy
Went today to look for a high chair and a car seat. I had done some research and had an idea of what I wanted. I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful, I was very indecisive and took my time in deciding. Their price was very competitive much better than other stores and they had a huge selection.

Terrible customer service
This is the first time I have written a review. This store has the worse customer service, very rude.Especially if it comes to replacing faulty items. We bought expensive car seat, which was faulty. Staff member blamed us or our car fitter first before doing anything about it! Then realizing other car seats had the same problem, did not even appologize nor gave us a discount!We had it replaced, but he threaten us if there is more problems with it, he wouldn't exchange it anymore and that we shouldn't come back!I don't think we will be buying any more things from this store.

This is the first review I have ever written & I have taken the time because I feel so strongly to warn others that this store has the worst customer service ever! All other reviews about this store are true. We purchased a number of items only to be given the endless run around about whether a chest of drawers been in stock, phone calls not returned, endless follow up calls by us, the customer to obtain information & rude, abrupt service. This store is appalling & not worth dealing with.

Friendly, attentive service, well stocked and good prices
Bought a pram from here after having to deal with another store who were rude and unreliable. What a breath of fresh air! Price was cheaper, they had it in stock, were extremely friendly and attentive when I went in to pick it up.
I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for any baby items, and I will definitely be back to buy more!!

I bought a mountain buggy pram and rain cover and was told it would be in stock next week, in 4 days time. I was asked to pay for the products in full which i did. They are more than happy to take the money just don't expect any items in return. -When i phoned in 4 days time i was told my purchases would be here next week. hone the supplier and call me back. They did not call back. -When i called the next day he had still not called the supplier, i had to insist on staying on hold while he called the supplier. I was then told it would be another 4-6 weeks on top of the 5 weeks i had already waited for my purchase that was suppose to be available in 4 days. -I asked for a refund and was told it would be done now. No refund was put in my bank account. I had to call again the following day at which point the sales person said "i didn't say i would do it then (the refund) i said i would do it soon." -At this point the money is still not been returned to me. -At no point have i been offered any sort of apology, any sort of customer service at all actually. -I can not recommend strongly enough that you steer clear and judging by the other reviews i have read this experience has been shared by many other. -Go anywhere else but here! It is cheap but simply not worth it. The customer service has to be experienced to be believed. Treated me with utter contempt and lied from start to finish.1 comment

Don't bother...the worst customer service I have ever encountered
I went to buy a large furniture item from this store to support a local strip shop. Never again.
Although spoken to in quite a short, rude manner by the gentleman store owner on the day, the other sales people were nice so I decided to proceed with my order. I was told the items were in stock with the supplier and I would have them the next week. When I didn't receive a phone call to arrange delivery I decided to follow up. r week past without hearing anything so I called again and was promised a call back. Nothing. Called again to be told the items were out of stock with the supplier and would be over 19 weeks wait! They hadn't even bothered to call me! I understand there are issues with this supplier but a phone call would have been welcome. After being spoken to in a very abrupt manner and made to feel like it was tough luck, I had to battle to cancel the order. I then had to then wait until they could be bothered- two follow up calls later- for a refund on my deposit! I don't generally write reviews but felt strongly compelled to caution any expecting parents from purchasing anything from this store.
We drove all the way from the other side of the city to support a small baby retail store by providing them with some business instead of supporting a chain. In hindsight, I wish we had just gone into Baby Bunting or online.

No communication was ever initiated by anyone from Glenhuntly Baby Carriages and certainly no apology offered for the lengthy delay. I have never been so angry and disappointed, nor have I ever been treated with such blatant disregard as a customer by a store. I will never again purchase anything from them. Please do not ignore other reviews regarding GBC's poor service. Save yourself the frustration and stress and go elsewhere. I called up to check if they have a Boori cot in stock and whether they are willing to price match. I was initially told the cot is in stock but when I rang up again, [Name Removed] said they will need to check if the cot is on lay-by and will call me back. After waiting for half a day, [Name Removed] hasn't rang back and therefore I rang back. I was told by [Name Removed] he was busy, which cot am I after..., he has to check the lay-by book and it will take a long time. He said he will again ring me back. At 4.30pm in the afternoon only [Name Removed], ring me and said he has the cot. Although I wasn't too happy with the service, I didn't want to make a fuss and proceed with the purchase of the cot. I asked [Name Removed], whether he will charge me a deposit or the full amount. He said full amount of the cot. Rang up the store in couple of days time and spoke with [Name Removed], that I am coming to pick up the cot. Was told [Name Removed], is not in but they will help. While husband is loading the cot with sales person I also bought car seat and bed linen thinking they offered a discount on the cot so I decided to spend my money with them. When I went to my car I was shocked that they already charged me with a mattress of their choice and loaded on my car. They did not even offer to show me what type of mattress I would like to buy but I was charged an innerspring on my credit card. I wanted a latex mattress as that's what I grew up with but was told it is too hot for baby. The mattress I was provided has no brand name, no tag at all. I asked if they have Boori mattress and I was told the Boori is made in china and they have no stock, whereas this mattress I got so called Classic Mattress is made in Australia. I wasn't happy about it as I was charged $140 for it and I could get an innersping mattress to suit the Boori mattress elsewhere from $95 - $120. The sales person insist this is the best and insist that I promised to buy a mattress from them in order to get a discount on the cot. He offered to give me a $19 cot mattress protector to keep me happy. I have no other choice cause I did promised to buy a mattress and they didn't have latex mattress. Before I go I had a look at the receipt and found that they also overcharged me on the cot. Returned to get a refund. I still feel bad that I didn't even know what material mattress I bought for my baby. I tried looking up Classic Cot mattress and there isn't such brand. They don't show any sort of mattress on their website either. You can negotiate price They are poor with calling back, take advantage on credit card sales over the phone, may overcharged.1 comment

Can't stress how bad customer service was.
My wife and I went in to purchase a Boori Country Cot and change table set as they had a 'sale' on at the time, we were so excited and knew nothing about the product and features etc. We didn't get served so we proceeded to look at the products ourselves, after 20min we decided to ask someone for a hand as we couldn't find the change table that matches the cot and we wanted some clarification on features. Very happy with service!
After reading reviews online about this store and one other with similar prices, I had doubts about using both as there were so many negative reviews. In the end Glenhuntly had the pram at a cheaper price (online purchase); and with free shipping. as indeed the current model. Their fast reply gave me more confidence about buying from them so a week later, after weighing our options we placed our order online. The pram and other items arrived 5 days later to my surprise, especially as I only placed the order 9 days before Christmas so I expected some postal delays! It came on the saturday before Christmas, box and all in perfect condition. And it was the correct model pram as they had advised. I ended up sending another email thanking them for such wonderful service, which is something I have never done. My only issues were the lack of item description as I mentioned above, and that I never received a shipment/despatch confirmation, so I never knew it had been posted until it arrived. But at the end of the day it arrived so fast it didn't really matter. I will not hesitate to go through Glenhuntly Baby Carriages for any future items. I think a lot of the time people are fast to complain about a bad experience but the ones who have had no problems stay quiet. I hope my positive experience will give others out there confidence that this baby store is actually a fantastic option. AND we have friends who live in Melbourne - a week after recieving our pram, they were talking about this baby shop that was fantastic service with really good prices. Worst baby shop we ever encountered!!
This shop is by far the worst baby shop we have encountered. The customer service is really appalling and made me wonder why they even bother get into baby business with the way they are treating their customers. Safe and Secure car seat fitting
We purchased a 2 carseats and hired a baby capsule from Glenhuntly Baby Carriages and took advantage of their $30 home car fitting service Best Choice we ever made.
We needed 3 carseats in the back of our Tiguan and were told by a larger store that it could not be done. The car fitter spent time with us to try out different combinations and found a combination that worked for us. The other stores did not even have time to help us

use ad we could not be happier. not only did the installer take the time to help find the right combination of car seats for our car he came to our house and installed the carseats when we needed them installed. The install was is rock solid for all three carseats fitted with very little play at the head end and no play at the base of any of the car seats / capsules. It felt safe and secure and did not slip around on our seats at all. we are very happy with the car seat fitting and the installation I have already referred them to several of my friends who were starting out on their parenthood expeierence and for the little bit more than the store car seat fitting the installer came to our and and performed the installation and fittingSimilar opinion?
