I suspended my casual membership for 4 mths in Nov 2022 . The gym shut down due to C19 in Mar 20. It reopened in Nov and automatically started auto debits again . I wrote stating they had not given reasonable notice to members. They enforced the requirement of notice period .

I was forced to sign up put my bank details. I was told I could not go on the machines. The male PT was absolutely rude, arrogant, Do not sign up with Mooroolbark Goodlife Health Club. I have never been so disrespected. My experience was so bad, I never was happy I waited for 1 and a half hours. She said I would not get a refund, I was told I had to provide my bank deta...

My customer customer service experience was very disappointing.
I tried to request to cancel my membership after the 12 months and Goodlife are claiming this time was extended due to COVID 19. I didn’t choose to pause my membership.

The team started deducting money without any notice and the amount deducted is also more than the service fee. The staff dont have any proper explanation on this. Moreover, my one year contract with Goodlife is over and wanted to cancel the membership. But they insist that contract will be extended due to the impact of COVID lockdown. And to exit the contract they are demanding 195 AUD. Extremely bad customer service and I would never recommend GoodLife to anyone.

Termination of membership - 8 Months later illegal charges pop up!!!
I terminated my membership in march this year, only to see a charge on bill restart this month... pretty sure this is illegal ... what a bad experience with this brand over the years... avoid.
Worst when it comes to staff. Been trying to quit and cancel my membership due to covid at goodlife boxhill. I have been to the gym to cancel and I was told that the manager will call me to take me through the cancellation process, still waiting after so many days and they have gotten off their back to call me back.
Simply when they want you to join their gym, they will call u 10 times a day and when it comes to cancel, they don’t wanna hear from u or cooperate. Don’t even bother.

COVID restrictions have eased and Goodlife r operating on a reduced scale. Started debiting my account again with zero notice.
I called to cancel. They have extended the term of my contract saying It’s a government mandate. I replied that the restrictions were a government mandate but extending the term of the contract is Goodlife’s decision. Lady kept on insisting the extended term is a government mandate.
I paid the $245 early exit fee just to be done with them.
They care solely about their bottom line.
I will never sign up with Goodlife again, ever.

Contrary to Consumer Affairs Victoria guidance, this gym adds a 30 day cancellation policy to their month to month membership - adding an additional month of fees to the agreement. Be aware that any agreement you make with them, will add an additional month of costs beyond the agreed contract.

Me and my girlfriend signed up for the gym recently and found out one week later that they had charged us each $150 on top of the weekly membership payments.
Apparently the $150 charged was for the ADMIN FEE (which they have neglected to inform either of us at the time of registration) and PERSONAL TRAINER program (which we made sure at the time of registration we were not interested).
I was fortunate my bank app notified me earlier, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to find out I was actually on a program.
Huge disappointment! Would definitely not recommend...

Prahran GoodLife
Only after your money don't even follow the rules of the ACCC.
Take your money and then change the service they provide. Purposely vague when selling memberships or other services. Take your money and then never provide the service and refuse to refund a service not provided.
Also consistently dirty and broken facilities and no aircon and fans that are never switched on above the lowest setting what a rip off!

Staff on the counter could not care less about customers. Overcrowding is insane. Nothing is ever fixed or put away. This is the ‘gym’ people joke about. Management are as ineffectual as it gets. A real mess. This place could be great with someone serious at the wheel. At the moment, I would say, do not waste your money.
Filthy Club with the great Stich up scheme which cheats its members with unreasonable fees
have been a member for 3 years, have always been stitched up for unreasonable fees. i have ignored few charges but their staff including manager is very rude. They treat people like kids.
Their contracts are unreasonable and every time they stitch you up with money they will throw a contract to your face and say read it. i do not recommend anyone to join this poorly ran and managed gym.
on top of issues with the way they deal with people, the gym's condition is worsening. steam room is not functioning for 18 months, bathrooms are filthy, no air con on a hot days, cooling system doesn't work. spa doesn't operate and is filthy too.
Be aware, if you join this gym you will get stitched up for money, worst customer service and equipment

started gym for swimming, Pool is never available, I've been paying for services they are not allowing me to use and I can't cancel my membership cause if I do I have to pay 245$ for cancellation.
rudest employee's
horrible customer service.
worst gym services possible
I joined Goodlife 2 days before falling ill. 12 months later I’m not getting better and finally apply for a medical cancellation after they kept convincing me to suspend the membership. They flatly refused to refund the money paid on joining, despite never using the facility. They waived the $75 cancellation fee, but kept my $205. They have no compassion and only want your money. Sick, disabled? That’s your problem, not theirs. You signed a contract.

The reps get commission on every new signup. You'll notice everyone in the gym is on a different rate cause they're dodgy and not clear about their prices. Very dodgy business model!!!
Never left a review for anything
But I would 100% not reccommend
Bad customer service provided
By a male membership consultant
Told unless I was a member I wouldn’t beable to do 10 day trial after submitting application

Do NOT sign up here. Cancelling was such a massive issue. Even though I’d been there for two years. They put up the price once I cancelled also so now I’m paying extra and theres not a damn thing they can do! Yeh right. How about don’t rip people off!
I am extremely fussy about gyms and have spent a year finding the right gym for me. Goodlife is pretty close for me. It has many gyms which as a member I have access to all. Some are 24/7 which is what I was looking for. However also some gyms have access to a basketball court that is always available for casual shooting or pick up games, tennis courts with one being indoor and squash courts. When I read the reviews here I got terrified that I joined but so far at least for me I am pretty happy with the fact I joined.
Worst gym ever !! Their cooling off period is a LIE, dont fall for it they will co rinse debuting you even you say you want to cancle 2 hours later. And goodluck getting your money back. All staff are con artists, they get special training for it I guess. Join anywhere BUT this gym UNLES you want troubles.
My local Goodlife gym in Glen iris is the worst ever staff you can never imagine. Rude and treated customer as rubbish. Never ever go there! Tried to write review on their google page but they blocked the entry! The manager said she is the owner and you can not imagine how rude she is! She accidentally canceled my membership and has to let me rejoin again and has to complete process before 3pm on the day she contacted me! I could not make it as I was at work. She said: do you want do it or not?! If you cant finish today then you go somewhere el...
Read morese! ......Who welcomed feeling! After negotiations They agreed I will come over second day to do rejoin process. Please note: They said this is the way to helped me out!..... ok, I admit that I agreed to cooperate to process rejoin again only because this Gym is close to me and 24 hours access. I suppose once joined then wont see staff often! If that is their meaning of the way to help me out!! I drove over second day to do the process to rejoin member. Did not know High street has road work after traffic jam took me 1.5 hours to get Glen iris good life from south Yarra. The receptionist let me fill form on there PC then the last page ask join fee $99. As I joined on the 25th of September the sells person offered me no join fee and no contact as student! I ask the receptionist why now ask join fee as your gym accidentally canceled my membership she said I didnt sign a form that is why been canceled. I told her that I signed all the form you give to me on the day to pick up the key and tag card. She said now rejoin again has to pay $99 join fee!! What a waste of my day and all the way drove there with horrible traffic! I said to her, I did not make any fault to join your club. Now you cancelled my membership and ask me come over rejoin again and changed the policy without telling me. I would not come over to follow your manager instructions to rejoin membership if she informed me there is a join fee $99 yesterday! She said normally cost $299 you get good deal for $99. Wow, that is not what I am talking about! I told her, thanks for offer I am not going to join this gym. Bye! P.S. thanks for this website give me the space to express what I have been though with this gym. After read all reviews that I am so happy did not join this Gym!The fitness director was abruptly moved clubs about 3 weeks before the goodlife famous '12 week challenge' has ended. The FD was a lovely person, with a strong rapport for clients, very personal and knowledgeable and really just a kind person. Its devastating as the FD put on a fabulous challenge and really mobilized all participants. Its just cruel that they would take him away before it ended. In these circumstances we are reminded that money is the most important factor in these gyms NOT building rapport with clients, creating a positive atm...
Read moreosphere etc. FD you will be sadly missed and the new FD you have huge shoes to fill. October 10th 2022 Update: Amazing creche I would like to say how amazing the creche the Wantirna Goodlife facility. Mini kids as is called is a fabulously run by the manager S who is the most kindest and approachable person. She helped me feel at ease with my son attending as he does not attend day care at all. Her patience and persistence with my son is admirable, I look up to S and she is just the most genuine person you will ever meet. Her and her team of ladies which I call my 'angels' are the best women. They are genuine, kind, and creative. They run 2 amazing sessions focusing on creative play, mat, reading and singing time, and general play . They engage with the kids on such a personal level. I adore these women, and I am so grateful for the affordable service they provide. Unfortunately though management cut down the amount of kids in each session. I believe they need to put back on the 4th and 5th staff member and therefore more kids can attend. When I call sometimes they are booked out. Management should see that this is such a beautiful, thriving service. The mini kids is definitely the ONLY motivating factor for us to attend the gym. If It wasn't for this service I would leave!Unfortunately while my gym experience was satisfactory, my dilemma is with the administration of this terrible organisation.
I have been charged for 4 consecutive weeks after I postponed my membership, and was yet to receive notification it was turned back on, despite receiving advice that I would be notified.
All in all, just another organisation that doesn't give a s*** about their members, only wanting to make money.
Won't be using them again!
the sales girl i order to pushed me enter into the higher price membership without telling me about membership options, i asked for twice she said there is the only option, actually there were 2 options including One club and All access club. i also asked about cancellation fee during the contract period, for at least three times, because i know that i would had a big chance to calcel it before my.membership ends. the girl said it would only be around $100 exit fee. today i called to cancel it, the staff request of $249 of cancellation and was...
Read more very rude to me when i complaint about the sales girl fooled me. she was keep telling me that when you enter into a contract you agreed all the policies and conditons no.matter whatthe sales girl says.... absolutelly a discusting gym club, never come back, and will tell everyone.not going....What kind of service would it be if the customer service manager is so rude? Gosh, I paid money and now I want to kill myself for that stupid decision. Once you paid the joining up fee, they were like pushing you to cancel your membership by saying stuff like 'do you want to cancel your membership?! No refund for anything you paid! I'm going to terminate the phone call!' God, I told Good life staff that I won't be able to use gym for the following two weeks, and they told me they'll arrange that and get someone to call me. Nearly two weeks pass...
Read moreed, they didn't do anything, when I asked I was told they didn't know and I have to pay for everything. I'm sorry it's my fault, I really really should use a recorder or contact them in writing only!!!!!Why they can’t tell you that there is cancellations fees .
Staff is very unprofessional in terms of insisting you.
They just want to steal your hard earned money.
Very very disappointed.
They are not a gym but a personal loan lenders .
