Absolute rubbish customer service. Deceptive and misleading advertising of product.

published

Bought product which distinctly omitted to state that it did not come with a battery or a charger. Refused a refund or return and since i complained suddenly there is full product disclosure. It is not ethical or legal to profit by omission.

Beware, Never buy anything from Greyonline

published

I bought a new TV from greyonline with one month warranty. Trust me, buying from them was the worst decision I had ever made. Faulty product, scratches, worst customer care. At first, they put false info, and then they will abuse you when you call them to help. You will get things a bit cheaper for sure but you will always regret. Wait for sometime, save money and buy items from other vendors but neverrrrr buy anything from Greys. All positives review are fake... I simply wasted my $700 dollars. It really hurts when you see your hard earned money just scammed by someone whome you trusted to save few bugs.

Non disclosure of significant rust issues with a car

published

Purchased a car online, looked at all the photos and read the description which did mention a brake issue, however failed to mention significant rust holes in the lower sills of the car, which the photos also conveniently didn't show. They will spruik their old line of, you should inspect the car first, however I don't believe this excuse is sufficient for leaving out important condition details, will be considering further action.

Bad experience, avoid if you have a choice.

published

The company had misleading images for the auction I was involved in. I was bidding on multiple lots. Some lots were all items on the pallet and apparently one of these items only included one item on the pallet. It took me a long time to find a person that could log my complaint. They accepted the images were misleading. I tried to resolve the issue talking to multiple levels of management but they kept referring to their disclaimer. Please avoid them or read the fine print and zoom in on the images as they will do anything and are desperate to collect the buyers premium. The company was good 10 years ago, now they have lost their customer focus.

Terrible Customer Service, 1 star is too high

When or if you speak to support (customer service) you hope you will get to speak to someone in Australia (not the Philippines), only to wonder with the lack of support that you receive if there is any benefit to that at all. Both as bad as each other.

Poor company. Full of misleading info. If you want garbage, buy from them.

published

Poor product quality and customer service(virtually none). In multiple cases, they sent me wrong product and when I raised the issue, they came up with all the rubbish logic. Once, they deducted almost 5K from my credit card without any invoice and I had to lodge complain through the card company. After details investigation, it was concluded in my favour and the money was recovered.

Other companies use them as the gateway to sell their quality failed products and garbage so buyers should keep their expectation low. To save time and money, I will recommend not to use them at all.

Purchased item. Booked a day/time to inspect/collect. The lady at the customer service desk was absolutely disgusting, no people skills at all. I asked if i could plug the the purchased item into the wall to test before accepting, and was told "NO".Dodgy. you may inspect as long as it doesn't involve seeing if it works before signing for it.
First and last time i will use them.

Do not buy a car for grays

published

In the title it states service history....... no it has a incomplete service history. The photos are deceiving at best. The car had been sunken in a swamp, mud and water under the carpet and the chassis rail’s and sill are full of mud and rust. And in the description it states
Body good
Interior good
What a joke buyer beware

Terrible Apps, Terrible Customer Service

published

Have used their app a number for bidding on their online auction (at different times), app always buggy i.e. bids not updating, pages freezing etc. Furthermore; when you actually win an auction, there’s total disregard for your good purchased, example is buying items categorised as “collectables”, and they stick their adhesive lot number labels directly on original packaging, which then damages the packaging upon trying to remove label. Has happened to me a number of times now; sent emails to their customer service email to lodge complaint, no response, they’re only interested in turning a buck. Buyer beware, consider using other reputable auction houses.

Ah the sounds of nature in Grays Vic.
Not since I waited outside a headmasters office have I seen so many people standing in line, confused and terrified. These guys are hilarious. Bureaucratic bullies who drank the kool-aid at the Centrelink customer service training program. A masochists dream day out.
Made my day anyway!
So you want to bid on something? I did. Were the other bidders real? Who cares but the process was clunky as all hell. Managed to win!! I think
Waiting on my WINNERS email.
Still waiting 15 hours later.
On hold to their customer service department........60 minutes on hold so far. Centrelink again.
Love these guys. Go and spend the day

If you get any reply from Graysonline this is what it will say.......

“Please be advised that the vehicle was sold in an Unreserved online Auction on an “as is’ basis and as stated on the description without the Statutory Warranty and cooling-off period. The booking in of this vehicle is based on an external walk around, engine start up only and the opinion of the booking in officer hence inspection is highly recommended to make sure that you are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle.

Unfortunately, I am unable to assist you further with this matter. “

There is No return policy with anything they sell Sorry to pass on this information.

I contemplated buying a vehicle from Grays for a couple of months and after hours of research, speaking to people that have purchased from them and dealers that use them to sell my opinion is don't touch them, you will set yourself up for disappointment.
I'll list the reasons why.

90% of vehicles sold through Grays are dealer trade-ins that are too costly to repair and register to resell.

They advertise vehicles as "engine turning over" but this only means that the starter will turn the engine, not actually start it. Hey, at least the $100 starter motor works.

No test drives as potential buyers will find too many problems,

They do allow NRMA/RACV/RACQ inspections of the vehicles but this is too costly for most people being around the $400 mark. If the vehicle is a dud which in most cases it is you are still out $400 for one vehicle check. Do this multiple times and you can see where I'm going. They won't allow a random mechanic to check these vehicles out.

There are a lot of false bidders (shill bidders) on this site jacking up the price on behalf of Grays and the seller hence why you see vehicles marked as sold are then listed again the following week. Do a google search on the VIN and you will see how many times it been listed over the previous months. If it hasn't been listed multiple times then it is a recent dealer trade-in not worth reselling on the used car lot.
I did a VIN google search on a Holden Rodeo I was watching and found it had been listed 6 times over 2 months with every listing marked as sold, this was an obvious case of shill bidders jacking up the final price hoping the legitimate bidder would go higher but failed.

Vehicles are photographed wet, under certain light conditions and at certain angles to hide a lot of imperfections.

If you do purchase something you will be waiting for hours at the depot just to pick the item up, even when it is quiet. Put aside a whole day for pick up.

If paying by direct deposit expect to wait weeks for an email with their details, don't expect to pick the vehicle up for at least 2-3 weeks after auction close.
Grays condition reports reflect what they see which is influenced by the fact they want to make as much money off a vehicle as possible. Something that a regular buyer see's as fair condition Grays will list as very good.

Yeah, you could pick up a cheap vehicle that seems like a bargain. After adding on the cost of repairs which all vehicles from Grays need (this is usually thousands) and add the cost of a blue slip and 12 months rego/insurance and you are looking at a cost which equals or exceeds private sale/dealer prices.

You are better off just going to a used car dealer. At the very least you get a vehicle that's roadworthy with rego and 3 months stat warranty. In most cases, you can negotiate a longer warranty (1 to 5 year) within the final price. In saying this there are still dodgy used car dealers out there but you can spot them a mile away.

Stay away from the vehicles sold at Grays Auctions

re; graysonline
my son bidded on grays for a car and he won, price 7000, i am shocked and no way afford it, grays online said i must pay 30% of the price and plus all difference if car to be re auctioned, say the final price is less. If i dont pay they will take legal action against me. I really do not know what to do. Has anyone been in similar situation with Grays.? and Hows the ending? is it even legal what they are trying to do to me? any advice will be highly apprciated.

Yes it's legal unfortunately, however i would doubt they would chase legally for an amount below 10k as not really worth their chaeges especially with an already poor reputation, dont think they would want to go to court. I may be wrong though. Good luck
