Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Feline

We bought the Hills Kidney Care vegetable and tuna stew. Anyone who thinks that putting carrots and rice into a carnivores diet and then charging through the nose for it is ridiculous, and doesn't deserve your money. Yes they are supposed to have a lower protein diet, no, carrots and rice don't do the trick. You end up with a whole bunch of useless food that you paid for that the cat won't eat. Why Trust your ill loved ones diet with a company that has no idea what your loved one needs?

It's hard enough when you have a sick kitty with kidney failure and then we try and force them to eat food they don't like. I've had 3 cats with kidney failure and I had to syringe feed...( which stresses out an already sick cat ), the kd canned food to them so they would get some nutrition. All of my cats hated the food. They need something better tasting for the poor kitties who are already suffering with kidney failure. If I ever get another cat I will definitely do the raw food diet so my cat doesn't end up having to eat something so awful.

I really like the Hill's range of cat foods as they tend to be a lot better quality than most other cat food products out there and they are always recommended by the professionals as a good quality product. If you have a cat with kidney issues or need to keep on top of your cats health in relation to its kidney or other diseases than this is a very specific food that does the job and is worthwhile using. It is more expensive than other brands, but is a great product and cats love eating it.
Great for cats that need a specific type of diet to help prevent kidney disease.
Expensive, but worth it.

The product is great, the pretending it is medicine allows for regular gouging by vets, buy it online between check-ups, the postage costs are much less than 3 monthly vet testing for their own wallet benefit and the price is often lower.
My indoor cat who was given a very poor prognosis due to failing kidneys is still going 3 years later on the canned version of this, he will not eat the dry food. He was dying fast on standard premium food.
Very expensive compared to other foods and vets want you to pay for extra blood tests/consultations to allow it to be bought which is a dreadful rort, there is no medicine in it, just less protein etc., there is no reason for the vet control other than profit, it is ridiculous

Our second cat is extremely fussy and much prefers dry food to wet food. He wont eat supermarket brand dry foods (or will only eat them a few times) and we have had most success with the Hills Prescription diet varieties. We don’t strictly buy the ones targeted for certain aspects of his health (healthy adult cat), but buy the ones we have had luck with that he seems to like, and alternate between them.
Our fussy cat likes it, many different varieties available to target specific areas of cat health (and taste preference), high quality and good ingredients.
It is much more expensive than supermarket brand cat foods, however the price difference is worth the increase in quality, and our cats prefer the taste.

This is a nice product as I know it is doing something pro active for my elderly cat, kidney disease is very common in cats. It would be nice to see a little varity of flavours in the range however.
Actually smells pretty decent, the cats really enjoy it, my vet has recommended it several times and sells it in bulk packets for a cheaper price, the canned food is a faveriote with my older cat. Prevents kidney disease which affects many cats.
Price, is a bit pricy and I've only ever been able to buy it in bulk from my vet

Hills Science Diet is a pet food company I am proud to say I use. They have great quality products which animals love to eat. This particular one is for animals suffering from kidney disease. I know many owners who swear by this food and say they are lucky it has been around to help their cat live a more full filling life.
Hills k/d is a qaulity pet food, high nutritional content and it is great to see a company so dedicated to the health and wellbeing of ailing pets.
Is pricey however you really only need to feed the cat half of what you would with any other product. Need a trip to the vet or a specialist pet shop to get it.
