Can't withstand weight
When ironing jeans or heavy items, board has a tendency to click out of position & drop down to next position... Won't be recommending or buying any other hills product!!!

Hills warranties - be wary
Have just had the worst experience ever trying to claim warranty for major failure of Hills product. Not the wonderful company they make out to be and certainly do not honour what they promise from my experience.

I bought this at the Hills clearance centre at a special price $75. For what I paid it is good value. It is sturdy enough and the area is wide enough to do all my iron jobs but it feels a bit tinny and it makes the most dreadful noise when I open it out so I leave it standing in the spare room. The iron caddy is a bit wobbly and does not really sit straight and I find the iron cord gets a bit caught in it so I usually do not pull the caddy out. I put a special metallic cloth ironing cover over it and that works well. I was looking to repl...Read more
ace my old solid frazer ? ironing board which was wonderful but getting old and rusty. It had small side wheels which still worked fine and made it easy to move around when folded up. I am happy enough with this one but if I had spent more time looking around, I might have found one a bit more solid. Nice enough for the price I paid and does the job Bit tinny and the caddy does not sit wellSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible
The 12 month warranty has just run out and my welding has snapped too! Not happy. I waited 10 years to buy myself a new ironing board and now what? I thought this ironing board would last me till I die. It was not overused either, I only iron once a week.
Liked the coathanger hanging area which is very convenient. Wide ironing space.
Quality of metal and welding not good

I have had nothing but dramas with this ironing board. My old one was also "Hills" and fantastic so I thought upgrading to another Hills would be fine. I am so disapointed and would not recommend this ironing board. I have tried to contact Hills but they refuse to get back in touch with me.
Doesn't balance correctly. Not a stable ironing board.

Bad quality ironing board
This ironing board is very noisy to put up and down. the foam padding flattened within a couple of weeks and the imprint of the metal showed on my ironing. Within 4 weeks the welding on the board started to rust. Hills customer service said the rust was probably because I used a steam, iron!! Hills sent me a free scorch resistant ironing board cover!!
Size is fine. Quality is poor.
Not cheap. Poor quality. Rusted after 4 weeks.

Loved the product until it broke,I will test Hills after purchase (and warranty) service, if I get a positive result I will continue to purchase their boards and sign their praises...watch this space

I liked the size, design, surface area and the fact that the cover matched my iron.It was easy to use, but did find folding it away flat while standing up right was an issue.
The cover has lasted well, it has only started to fade (brought in Sept 06).
I paid the extra price with the understanding of the product exceeding the warrenty given (1 year) but wouldn't you know it...... yep the stand broke away from the welding joint rendering it useless. What happen to the Hills promise of durability.

Good
The products is easy to use but I have been disappionted with the plastic feet cracking and continuilly falling off. If you are not careful you could end up with scratvhed floors.

Size is great and easy to use

This ironing board is a good size, with a good height range. It has a surface large enough to hold a pair of (large) trousers, yet the pointy end is capable of dealing with shirts quite well.
My only complaint is that the board won't stay folded when you stand it upright. I can't find the exact cause, but it won't lock in place ... when you stand it in a cupboard, the legs start to expand unless it is leaning with the legs against the wall and the top facing away from the wall. Not convenient when you're trying to place it in a narrow space where a lean isn't practical.
Good ironing surface
The board won't stay "folded"

Excellent
I like this ironing boar. It's nice and sturdy, easy to store away, I find it easy to put up and handle to collapse is study and easy to use. The shape and size of board is good, with the ironing caddy on the end of the board allowing more ironing space and makes it a safer place to rest the iron while turing clothes around. Overall a good strudy ironing board which functions well. Would recommend.

I haven't experienced the problems that other reviewers have (I don't iron very often) but like them I chose this board after trying to find something large and sturdy. Hills is supposed to be a good brand and I paid the extra to get the biggest size they have, but I'm still a bit disappointed that ironing boards just aren't made like they used to be. my mother has a steel one with rubber feet that she got 40 years ago as a wedding present, and it's still going strong. I can't see this board lasting a fraction of that time.

I welded the breaks but have had enough. Can't speak about current models and recent manufacture but the Sienna's of 2006/2007 were made of tissue paper thin steel and that had impurities judging by they way it spluttered and carried on during the welding. Hills should be humiliated to have this in their product range and be offering new for old replacements.
Size, Shape, and iron stand design are extremely good.
The welding that joined the legs to the slide broke three times. Once at 14 months and the other at 25 months and again yesterday.

Bad
When it was working we wre fairly happy even if the folding latch was a bit of a pain but the fact it broke so quickly and isn't covered by warranty isn't good enough.
Good size and surface
Problems with it folding and latching. One of the welds broke where the leg ataches to the board after about 2 years of light use and now we have to throw it away
