Actually Amazed.
When I walked into JB, I asked them what the difference was between this and FF he Samsung 50”.
He told me “Hisense has a better refresh rate and software,, among the things you already know. And it’s a commonly used panel for more expensive brands.”
The picture quality was so impressive, making UHD nearly appear 3D.
With a bit of tweaking, we figured out that Dolby Atmos setting has to be turned off unless the show or movie is made with Atmos.
Also, and not sure if this is an aerial or unit issue, but even with all settings in default there is a bit of a sound lag compared to picture.
But I’m actually amazed by this set

Excellent value
Extremely easy to set-up install.
Easy to use.
Picture quality is outstanding.
Sound quality is great.
Remote control is excellent and easy to use.
Switching between Netflix and the TV is quick and easy.
I brought this TV a couple of days ago. I went into JB Hifi and said what 50" can I buy for $500. The salesman said we have one telly for $400, or this one for $695. I had a look at both, and decided that the Hisense seemed better. Even though it was more expensive it was a big step-up from my old TCL that I brought 10 years ago, for $500.

Very happy with this TV. We use it mainly for Netflix. The remote is very straight forward to use. Did not take long to set up. Very satisfied with the wireless connectivity.

Only an 8 bit Colour bit nowadays
Well the older 50N7 & 50P7 were very good tvs. They had10 bit colour depths which made viewing terrific. The 50R7 is a good tv and I have rated it 3/5. However, the R7 only has 8 bit +FRC colour depth. Hisense may tell you there is no difference, but there is. Especially on full panoramic shots ... Like when a sun is setting over a mountain(you will get pond like ripples around the sun). Basically many panaramics shots aren't great. Its due to Hisense now using the 8 bit + FRC where they use to use 10 bit a year and a half ago on the same type ...Read more
of tele. My 50N7 failed and Hisense replaced it with a 50R7. The speakers have been improved and I don't use the Smart Options as rural Australia does have NBN luxuries. The 50R7 is just not in the top class of viewing tvs anymore, but the 50N7 was. :(Purchased in December 2021 at Harveys for A$700.00.
