TV in the time of cholera...
I purchased a 75 inch Hisense Series 7 TV that was problematic right out of the box. The picture would flicker with irritating frequency, the TV would occasionally turn itself on (disturbing in the middle of the night) and occasionally whole sections of the screen would go dark. The customer service response to this was poor and placed all the impositions on my time.... call the helpline and 'try this and that' etc. Finally a technician will come but 'make sure you dismount it before technician arrival' etc etc - I read this as 'please make you...Read more
r time available to limit the imposition on time and cost for us'. I had sent a video to Hisense customer support showing evidence of the flickering problems, but when the technician arrived he obviously had not been provided with it. He took one look at the pre-recorded video and said 'oh you need [tv part], I'll order one in and it will take a few weeks. Awesome. Second visit and [tv part] installed. Flickering problem still ongoing. I've reported the ongoing issue to Hisense and wondering if they will recommend yet another visit from the tech? Three times inviting a stranger into my home during a covid pandemic... I wonder if common sense will prevail? Probably not..... Avoid this company. Pay the money for a Samsung or LG, I'm kicking myself now.Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,800.00.

Excellent value
Extremely easy to set-up install.
Easy to use.
Picture quality is outstanding.
Sound quality is great.
Remote control is excellent and easy to use.
Switching between Netflix and the TV is quick and easy.
I brought this TV a couple of days ago. I went into JB Hifi and said what 50" can I buy for $500. The salesman said we have one telly for $400, or this one for $695. I had a look at both, and decided that the Hisense seemed better. Even though it was more expensive it was a big step-up from my old TCL that I brought 10 years ago, for $500.

The most frustrating Tv ever purchased
From Day one we had issues.
Wasnt up to date when it arrived, had to get update sent out.
Lip syncing is constantly out and needs readjusting.
Sound is terrible with speakers at the back, if you sit in the room behind the tv it sounds fantastic, you just cant see anything obviously.
New update caused half our movies on external HD to not play. What did play before we now get a 'file not supported message' for.
Now TV will not turn on at all, just red standby light.
Side note - Im a disabled Vet, my wifes just home from surgery and we have a 6yr old. Now our 5mth old TV stops working on a Saturday morning as flood waters are still subsiding around us....that really is a great start to the weekend.

Worst experience ever.
3 day old R7 lost back lights on one side of the screen, picture started to really degrade after that, pink pixel smears would show up as well as other screen issues like backlights illuminating parts of the bottom of the screen at all times.
Hisense would not replace my tv, they sent a technician out to fix it instead! He said parts would take a while, so I insisted on a replacement as the tv was under a week old when it happened. Hisense again said no they will not replace the tv and I’d have to wait for the parts and have it fixed.

ervice team ever, I would be very careful with this company if purchasing a “main room” TV. Edit: warning: Samsung atmos soundbars(I have a samsungQ90r and a Q70r soundbar do not work with this TV when trying to play atmos content, even though they state they are Dolby vision and Dolby atmos enabled. Hisense have known about the issue since release, near a year and they still don’t have a firmware update to fix this issuePurchased in January 2021 for $2,400.00.

Should have known for the price.
Firstly, we knew this when we bought it and didnt think we needed it but yes we need google play, and android tv. Many of the downloaded apps on this tv are not australian or even in English. Its not bad looking for a cheaper telly though. We had alot of issue with recieving a good picture when we first bought it and had the ring the customer help line and turn off all of the settings that hisense advetise as being something great about the telly (e.g. 200SMR). But the worst thing is our screen has begun to peel and crack away from the screen on both top corners! Im not happy that when i rang the customer line for help i was told they could not help.

Impressive Picture Quality
Picture quality is excellent for the price, whilst sound is good. The included stand is good and looks premium.
The Vidaa 3.0 operating system is responsive and works well but does not include or have available for download the channel 2, 7, 9 or 10 apps - though it does include SBS, YouTube, Netflix, Stan and Prime. I have attached a separate Chromecast to get access to the other channels apps.
There is a pixel glitch approx every 30 mins. The screen goes fuzzy for approx 1/4 of a second then goes back to normal. Not a big deal.
Overall happy with it.

Ultra HD 4K TV but picture output so poor!
I bought this TV today and as soon as I turned it on “ there is a plastic film on tv screen “ that was my initial reaction! Because picture was not sharp and not bright I thought may be there is plastic film on the tv screen but it was not . I changed the setting and it was almost same result!

This TV definitely punches above it's weight!
No longer is the quest to have a decent TV down to 2 or 3 'big' brands... Hisense packs a punch and delivers a quality tv with a 3 year peace of mind warranty. The sound picture is amazing and having netflix, youtube & amazon prime is an added bonus! The Operating system is responsive and setting up and using it is a breeze!

Only an 8 bit Colour bit nowadays
Well the older 50N7 & 50P7 were very good tvs. They had10 bit colour depths which made viewing terrific. The 50R7 is a good tv and I have rated it 3/5. However, the R7 only has 8 bit +FRC colour depth. Hisense may tell you there is no difference, but there is. Especially on full panoramic shots ... Like when a sun is setting over a mountain(you will get pond like ripples around the sun). Basically many panaramics shots aren't great. Its due to Hisense now using the 8 bit + FRC where they use to use 10 bit a year and a half ago on the same type ...Read more
of tele. My 50N7 failed and Hisense replaced it with a 50R7. The speakers have been improved and I don't use the Smart Options as rural Australia does have NBN luxuries. The 50R7 is just not in the top class of viewing tvs anymore, but the 50N7 was. :(Purchased in December 2021 at Harveys for $700.00.

Worst experience by far
Bought a brand new hisense tv, two weeks in stopped working. The tv turns on but not doing anything. Contacted the customer service, and they asked me to reset it to factory setting. It helped for a day, but the same problem came back again. Buy this tv if you want to waste your money.

Very user friendly OS, easy to set up Smart TV, R7 comes with a lot of inbuilt apps & special buttons on Remote (Netflix, Prime, Youtube) 4 HDMI ports (1 with ARC), really impressed with Dolby vision and Atmos. Remote App connects well & love the sync with google (also has Alexa which I don't use).

Movie playback not smooth and would not consider it 4K picture quality.
So after being a devoted Samsung customer for many years and due for a TV upgrade I thought I would try another brand (Hisence). I purchased the Hisense - 65R7B and had high expectations after talking to the sales person about how well this particular TV sold. 8 weeks into my purchase and I am rather disappointed in the overall performance of this TV, I find while watching YouTube, DVDs, and movies from my home theater PC there is a significant amount of judder and refresh rate stutter @ 1080p and 4K as well as some random video tearing across ...Read more
the bottom of the screen at times. I have played with all the built in settings but it really makes little difference at all, and just to test my theory I hooked the same media components to my older Samsung 50" 4k TV and there were no issues what so ever. I now feel like I have lost a large chunk of money and will more than likely have to shop for a new TV again..... very very disappointed. Great TV at a great price
I went shopping for a Samsung QLED tv which was on special, but was disappointed by the picture quality on lower resolution media. I tried a few other QLED's including Sony that was said to have the best quality upscaling, but was still unhappy with the picture. So I went around testing several non-QLED TV's with my USB that contained multiple different qualities of video. The one that played the best picture over all qualities was the Hisense R7. I've only had it for 3 days, but so far am very happy with it. It has 4 x HDMI and two USB slots. ...Read more
TV remote is nice and overall TV functions are easy to use. Picture is really good for UHD and as I said it plays lower resolution stuff much better than other more expensive TV's. Can't comment on sound quality as I always use soundbars. If you don't watch the majority of your shows on at least 1080p, I would avoid the QLED TV's and go with one like this. Great value for money. I ended up being able to afford a new soundbar as well because of the price. Was a little hesitant going with a lesser known brand and only time well tell if the TV holds up. But for now I couldn't be happier with my choice.Purchased in November 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,295.00.

Disappointed
We went to Harvey Norman to purchase a new TV, we were recommend the hisense TV for our needs. I had been happy with its picture quality and sound, other then sometimes the sound loses sync.
We have had it for ten weeks, and it just stopped working. Called Harvey Norman, and of course it's Hisense problem, we were told they would ring us, and they didn't. Did some research on the problem, apparently quite common, and alot people complaining that it has happened several times, and once the warranty is up they don't want to know you. At this point I am regretting our purchase.

Great TV
After lots of research, I purchased this Hisense tv 4 months ago. So far it has been great and I love the picture quality. The 3 year warranty is better than the "brand" names and it has Dolby Vision and Atmos which are the latest 4k HDR formats. The operating system is their own and works well, but it would be nice to be able to add apps like spotify (apparently these and others are coming). It is also works with Alexa and google assistant for the techno savvy. It has 4 HDMI inputs and overall, it has a great picture and sound. Aquaman on blur...Read more
ay was awesome and netflix in 4k all look great. The price has recently dropped making it an even better buy, highly recommend it. ***Update**** 5 months in and the TV won't boot past the initial turn on screen with Hisense displayed and the red start light keeps flashing. Rang Hisense and went through the usual try this and that and now have to wait until their technician calls within 24 -48 business hours and then will possibly tell me what I already know - it won't boot up and I have no tv. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for it to be fixed and hopefully it will stay fixed. Disappointing for a 5 month old tv. ***update again*** TV was fixed within a week. New power board fitted (in home service) and I am now happy again. Hopefully there are no more issues.Purchased in June 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,999.00.

Great value for money. Very good picture quality and features.
I have owned this TV for the past month so if there are any interesting issues that affect my rating I'll put it up here. So far I'm really happy with the value for money this TV has provided. When I was shopping I was comparing the 65R7 to the LG SM8600 and the Sony X8500G (as those 3 have similar specifications on paper). Both the LG and Sony were a good $500 more than the Hisense.
Picture quality - Very good. The colours are vibrant (maybe a touch less than the LG). The screen can do the very bright objects on the screen when in HDR mode. C...Read more
olours are accurate when calibrated. Blacks are quite good for a LED LCD. I've watch the tv in dimly lit rooms and the blacks are quite decent. In a totally dark room of course you can tell that it's not true black. User interface - Average, compared to the competition. This is a weakest point of the TV. It has improved a lot from the previous year, so it quite responsive. However the LG, Samsung UIs are so user friendly and feature rich Dirty Screen Effect - There is some of this when I ran some test video but it is hardly noticeable. Sound - It is quite decent for a such a thin tv. It doesn't sound tinny. Note that this review is for 2022's Hisense Series 7 TV or R7. If other reviews mention that the TV was purchased before April-May 2022 (which is when Hisense released them in the Aussie market) then they are referring to the older P7 (2018) or N7 (2017) models.Purchased in June 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,695.00.

Outstanding Value & Quality
A very good smart TV that caters for my every need. Easy to install and operate, it has plenty of ports for connecting devices - including an optical connection. It loads seamlessly to WiFi, delivers outstanding picture quality and the remote has the convenience of one touch buttons for Netflix and YouTube. Sound quality is not that great, but easily overcome with the use of a Soundbar. I undertook some serious research before buying this TV and all the reports indicated it represented the best “bang for your bucks” in the marketplace - I couldn’t agree more! Owned since February 2017 and proven reliable.
