the workhorse of my kitchen cant do without it
I purchased this from K-Mart over a year ago and use it every week. It is a great size, able to easily accommodate the largest of whole chickens, or huge amounts of ingredients.
The bowl is really sturdy and has a good heavy feel. The heat transfers evenly throughout and it is really easy to clean. The weight can be surprising, especially when it is full, so always make sure you have plenty of space to put it down. It will retain heat for a considerable amount of time after it is removed from the base.
The two heat settings are more than enough. I have found that the high setting is very powerful so i reduce my cooking times when using it.
for only $20, this is the best value out there

slow cooking can't be better
I have a Homemaker slow cooker which I use at least 2-3 times a week, it is about 4 years old but no matter what you put in it, it, comes out cooked to perfection even the cheapest cuts of meat with or without bone falls off the bone. This homemaker slow cooker is not expensive to buy but it makes life easier it only takes a wipe out to clean and most slow cookers inserts come out which makes it safer when cleaning. Soups, Rice's Stews, Casseroles can be made the night before put on low by morning it's nearly done, it just hard to keep everyo...Read more

Excellent
This is a great slow cooker and so affordable! I use mine several times a week and everything always turns out perfectly. I find the low setting is still quite hot though so I don't tend to use the high setting much. I also put the pot in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.

Great slow cooker
Bought this while on holidays because I forgot to take mine and my hubby wanted lamb shanks lol. It's been a great addition to the family and it cooks really well. The only let down is that it doesn't have a timer but it doesn't ruin it though. It's definetly worth it.

I use this to make soap- works great for $20
I wanted to begin make my own soap due to my partner's allergies. I was a beginner, and afraid to do it in the oven. I bought this slow cooker to make it easier and less stressful, and it did just that. I can definitely say it gets a lot of use and has never caused me any serious issues.
This product does have one flaw, which is that it is hotter on one side than the other. This means that while the soap is cooking, I have to pick the inner bowl up and turn it around. I imagine this wouldn't be a real issue when making food- you could just ...Read more
stir it. However, you may end up burning part of your food if you're not keeping an eye on it. It would be good if this product had temperature settings, rather than just "levels" of heat. An indicator light for heating/at max heat would also be good. I never have any idea what temperature it's set to heat to, or if it's close to reaching that temperature. This is quite easy to clean. While the bowl is heavy, it isn't impossible to lift out. It is also cermaic so simple soap and water does the job well.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I love this
It's so easy to use.... easy to clean as u can take out the Caramic bowl as others u can't... and love that once food is done u can leave it on warm til serving time..... it's not overly heavy like some I have used in the past and it has only 2 functions high and low.. so very easy to use especially for those who hate 100s of buttons

Hopeless
First time we used it to slow cook corned silverside, after 5 hours it blew the circuit breaker. After several attempts to continue cooking after resetting the circuit breaker it continually tripped the breaker. Received as a gift no receipt and therefore no proof of purchase so have tossed it out.

Inner bowl cracked
Had to replace old faithful slow cooker which have used regularly for years so no stranger to slow cooking. old one wasn't an expensive brand (bought from Woolworths about 4 years ago). So bought this Kmart one and after a couple of months we noticed a crack in base... replaced and first use of next one, cooking a chicken on high setting and it heard it crack about an half anhour into cooking. Crack runs right through base. Will replace with a different model.

Cheap, practical, large, reliable.
Why pay more for a fancy name brand? Simple, good quality and excellent value. Set and forget and a melt in mouth texture with wonderful flavours that await you whenever the heck you feel like eating up to 8 hours later...

Not what expected.
I am quite disappointed with the slow cooker. It is not what I expected. Maybe it is not because of this particular brand, but the overall principle of cooking. I used it two times only. It is easy to clean & quite easy to figure out how to use features.

Just what I need
Great slow cooker meat comes out perfect every time. I no longer do my leg of lamb in the oven. I put it straight in the slow cooker and leave it for 8 hours and it comes out perfect just melts in your mouth. I don't know how I ever lived without a slow cooker.

Highly satisfied with this slow cooker, have recommended to family and friends. Perfect kitchen accessory for busy working people. Only downside is my kitchen now smells too delicious!

Just as good, if not better, than my last Russell Hobbs slow cooker.
This Kmart slow cooker is the best value for money when it comes to slow cookers. I had a Russell Hobbs slow cooker that cost me $99 and the ceramic pot got a hairline crack in it that made it dangerous. For $20 I thought I'd give the Kmart one a go and OMG it is easily just as good, if not better. There's no medium setting, only low and high, so that was the only adjustment I had to make since some of the things I used to cook I'd do on the medium setting. That aside, I can't fault this slow cooker. The quality is excellent. It is sturdy, the ...Read more
lid has a better handle than the Russell Hobbs one did, the ceramic pot is easy to clean and fits nicely in the dishwasher. The pot is big enough to make food for a family of five. Have cooked everything from soups & pasta dishes to full roasts and vegies in it. Love love love this slow cooker. Highly recommend it to everyone.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cheap and cheerful
I have been searching for the right slow cooker for a while and couldn't go past giving this one a go when I saw the $20 price tag and know of Kmart's excellent refund policy for dud items.
Looks nice, big capacity for small price. Red accents were a bit of a turn off for me, but again for $20 I can't complain too much. Very simplistic operation, settings either at off, low, high or warm. No timer option, auto warm option or auto off option. To operate you simply turn the large switch at the front. Initially it's a bit tricky to see what you'v...Read more
