2013 Honda Jazz Vibe-S
Bought the 2013 Honda Jazz Vibe-S (auto) for the wife with a tad over 20,000 kms on the clock. We love how spacious the little car is on the inside for such a small bodyprint. The magic seats have been perfect for us when moving houses as we have been able to pack in a surprising amount of large items into the back with the seats folded down, including a 6 drawer chest of drawers, 1100 x 1300 canvas painting and outdoor furniture!
Performance and handling is as expected with a 1.5L engine returning real world fuel economy of around 7-8L/100km...Read more

Practical car very functional, but lacking the fun to drive factor.
I purchased this used blue 2012 Honda Jazz GE manual VTI vibe hatch back from Formula Honda September 2016 to replace my troublesome GD Honda Jazz, although the buying experience was pleasurable, the car has turned out to be rather disappointing. Mine is the 1500 cc manual V T I, with quite a few extras, like side skirts, driving lamps, etc. The car is very appealing to the eye. It is really roomy for a small hatchback, also, you can store things as large as a washing machine in the rear with seats folded down. The car had 13,000 kms on the odo...Read more
meter at purchase, with one careful elderly owner and full service history. It is a very comfortable car to sit in or be a passenger in, very quiet and reasonable road manners, the seating is slightly raised so you have a good clear view of the road but not too high as to cause wandering or instability while driving. My worse gripe is the engine revs higher in this manual version compared to our automatic Jazz, at 60 kph in top gear it sits on 2000 rpm, compared to the auto which is 1500 rpm at the same speed. The shift is rather sloppy and not at all smooth. 2nd gear is appalling and is better to skip it and go straight to 3rd. I love to drive a manual car but this is not at all what I expected, the previous model was way better to drive, it shifted easier and smoother, and it did not rev its guts out at low speeds, the high revs also impact on the fuel economy, the auto is about a litre per 100 kilometers easier on fuel, I average about 6.8 per 100kms in this manual, and yet in a straight line the auto can get way better than this down to 5,6. I was hoping the newer model (GF) had rectified this revving situation but on a test drive I can assure you they have not. So, if you are like me, and LOVE to drive a manual car, then I would suggest something else, like a Mazda 2, they drive better, and shift better, BUT, you can't fit people in the rear, What to do ?**** Its been 2 years now and I have put 27,000 kms on this car, the shift has improved, I am willing to live with it a few more years, as nothing comes close to the comfort and room on offer in this class of vehicle.Similar opinion? Engine Failure
Bought my Honda Jazz with 52000 km, great car at first, had it serviced when due, then at 86000 the engine blew up, it was 6 weeks out of warranty. Took it to Honda dealer where originally purchased said they need to strip it down to see if can warrant engine at a cost of $850.00 to me. Result - I must have driven through water which then somehow got through air filter resulting to 1 corroded engine rod. What a heap of crap, if that was case all 4 rods will have corroded according to a reputable independent mechanic. Dealer told me my engi...Read more
ne is only Honda to have failed in Australia, another lie, a customer of mine has a Honda Accord that had same issue, and yes, they told him he drove through water also. The dealership could have saved me time and around $1200.00 if they told me straight up to just put second hand motor in car, as they had no intention of any good will . All they did was add salt to the wounds, they are disgusting, and thanks to them I would never own another Honda car again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We call it the 'Egg'
The manual 1.5l VTi with the body kit is a great looking car and economical at 6.5 l/100kms. It is fast enough and comfortable enough for touring but excels as a town car and runabout. It is well made and I can service it myself. Having cruise control is a great luxury and the versatility of the interior layout is exceptional. Everything works properly and I expect it to be a fault free and cheap car to own.
Two years later and we still have it. The Takata airbags were quickly fixed by the local dealer even though we bought this privately. Car has 60,000 kms on it now and is running like new with no faults.

Ideal, roomy, fun to drive and reliable vehicle
I have owned this used GE Honda jazz automatic transmission vehicle for almost 3 years, we have put 60,000 kilometres on the clock, with only 2 minor issues, 1st one was the battery failed at a very early age, about 4 years from date of manufacture to be precise, and the only other one was the rear brake pads, but in all fairness I lost count the amount of time the hand brake has been left on by mistake.
My wife and I average about 7 litres per 100 kilometres in the real world but on a straight line journey it is as good as 4.5 litres/100 kms...Read more

great for first car, affordable low fuel consumption,
As a small transporter tool every working day or shopping day, it does very well. easy to park and handle.
I like it got enough legroom and headroom
The service cost are acceptable, its reliable and safe. It is great for new learner and small family. After folding second row of seat, there is plenty room for even a bicycle.

2nd Honda Jazz
While we've had the expensive Mercs and Bimmers we decided to downsize in retirement and bought another Honda Jazz with just 12K on the clock for $14,000 in Oct 2014 after owning one a decade ago, we like the fuel consumption, the drivers view, its zippy around town, so easy to park and can go to Bunnings anytime with the back seats down as we can carry so much, its so cool.

Gutless And Poor Customer Service
The car has no power and rattles. Keys fell apart within months of purchase but don't expect any help from "customer service." So rude. Worst customer service of any car manufacturer I've dealt with (IN VICTORIA). Last Honda I'll be buying. Great space but very basic inside. There is better value for money and customer service in the market. Mazda and Hyundai tested better.

This is wonderful.
I bought Honda Jazz in 2010. I have had this for more than five years. It has been good without any broken down. Jazz is good size to drive and parking in a small place. Also It is hatchback. So it is easy to fold the back chairs and make a bigger room at the back. there is no noise and good performance until now. I am very satisfied with this car and want to recommend to other people. Also maintenance cost is reasonable and cheaper than European Car. The Petrol cost is economic. very good.

Great little car
Have had my Jazz since 2010. very impressed with its pick up, economy and power. In 2011 I had to drive through 3 lots of .2 water the Jazz made it through. I had to go through other wise I would have been stuck in the middle of no where. I would highly recommend at least the 2010 model. It was more expensive then today's model I paid $20990.

still love this car
I've had this car for 3 years this month and have had no issues except an air filter changed. Value for money at the time and came with accessories. It drives pretty good, doesn't have as much power as other cars and is little slow but is not that important, this was the 1.3L Japanese model. Feels a bit bumpy on the road compared with other small cars but thats being picky. However the interior is great quality and the style is young and modern. The interior is huge, one of the biggest small cars inside and small on the outside. Just tried the ...Read more

Rust bucket
I purchased the car new. I was told they never rust.
In no time at all rust appeared in all four door drain holes. I asked about that at second service. They said no worries it's just the very edge of the metal where it's been cut doesn't have paint. It'll be fine.
Next thing rust popped up at the bottom of all the doors and under the bonnet. Fortunately the car was under rust warranty but claiming it was like dealing with the Marfia.
Finally and I mean finally after much arguing with the local dealer then Honda Australia it was repaired u...Read more

The little car that can...
I drove the (manual) Jazz around for a week while my Subaru Forester was off the road. This is a truly awesome little car. The positives: responsive, economical, spacious (rear seats down) and a decent dashboard layout. The seats are slightly narrow but comfortable. Good forward visibility. The negatives: average rear visibility, slightly heavy steering and the cup holders are in strange positions. But overall for the price an excellent car. I also had a Toyota Corolla on loan for a week recently - the Jazz leaves it for dead.
I was kinda sorry to hand it back after a week...

Almost Perfect
I upgraded my ageing 02 model 3 years ago, to a 2 year old 09 model. My 1.3 manual 09, now has 110 000 kms on it.
It will need brake pads soon.... oh and i had a faulty rear shock absorber, which i replaced the pair for $180.
The 09 has a LOT more power than the old 02, but its not quite as good on fuel. It has more room in the back, i can get TWO 5kg washing machines in it lol. Its easier to see out of, has a better stereo, handles better. My sister still has her 03 jazz with 190 000 on the clock, and it honestly drives like new. My mu...Read more
m now has an 02, she purchased for $2200 with faded (red... avoid the red!! ) paint, and 200 thousand kms. this jazz family is super happy, just wish i could afford the new one!! things to watch... on the earlier shape, listen for wheel bearing noises, and whine in the gearbox. check white cars THOROUGHLY for rust!! the white ones can be bad, check in the spare wheel well on the early shape for rust, as the body flexes, they can crack in the roof above the hatch letting water in. DO NOT buy a red one if you plan to leave the car in the sun, it WILL fade! Be prepared to love the little thing to bits!!!!1 comment

Super-practical 'origami car'
We bought a 2009 VTiS model, manual, new. It hasn't missed a beat in 53,000km. Have just replaced OEM tyres with same-same. We call it a VUV (versatile use vehicle) - because it is simply the most versatile small vehicle on the market. It fits me at 183cm (short-legged, long-backed) ‘just’. It can (and has) carry five adults, has three child-seat mounting points (in practice, 2 child-seats, or centre-mounted baby-capsule), can carry a startling amount of luggage like a 2-seat mini-van, or even 1-seat long-load mini-van, or ‘awkward parcels...Read more
’ like tall objects. Head-room is excellent, knee-room adequate. Power/torque is ‘adequate’; we got the 1.5L, the 1.3L is more economical. Brakes are excellent. It’s not a racer, handling is good-enough, (later models have ESC), it’s chuckable only on familiarity; straight-line steering is ‘slightly vague’ but only in comparison to something more high-end. The point is, it ‘does everything’. Urban, gravel, highway, cartage, people-moving (for skinny people in the back seat, if 3 of). Whilst travelling, we hired a Suzuki Swift for a week, and initially found it very disappointing by comparison, in particular – Suzuki, where’s your torque? Suzuki, things don’t fit! For whatever demographic, if your question/budget is: ‘one small car, has to do absolutely everything!’ then this is the answer. Servicing costs were initially ‘a decider’ but have risen to market norm. PS – NRMA servicing is better than dealer servicing; they definitely do all the work you’ve paid for, by mechanics instead of apprentices. Sheer versatility, economical to run. Nothing much ‘wrong’; others handle better but are less useful/usable. For a boy-racer, look elsewhere. Otherwise, look here.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cute Comfortable car
The Jazz is a surprise to drive. It has a 1.3 V-tec engine, Power windows Cd Player with Connectivity, Airbags all round with the option of 4 speed auto of which I tested. On the road this car has plenty of go and is very comfortable. The seats are supportive and ride is smooth with a ripper automatic transmission. Take off is terrific for such a small engine and auto and interior space is ample even for tall drivers such as myself at 6"4. It has Magic fold up seats for carrying large items and the fit and finish is a little on the cheap side i...Read more
n the interior but mechanical and build quality is superior being a Honda. This car would be ideal for a student or someone wanting an easy around town car and would be money spent well. Servicing every 6 month's or 10,000km will keep this vehicle running for many years and is imperative as neglecting it would be very expensive. Good honest little car, apart from the vibrating
I've had my Vibe for 2 years now, bought brand new. It's well equipped and had some bonuses thrown in - climate control, cruise control, alloy wheels and my favourite thing about the car - electric fold in mirrors.
It's very roomy and feels solid for such a small car and lots of window so you don't feel claustrophobic like some other small cars. The magic folding seats really come in handy. I get around 7L/ per 100km.
The 1.3L motor is more powerful than I expected but it can struggle overtaking and up hills. The bluetooth was just added as ...Read more

Does anyone know where I can find the auxiliary port on the 2008 Jazz?
1 answer
Hi Sam, I am presuming the Jazz is a GE 2nd generation Jazz and the auxiliary port in question relates to connecting an auxiliary media devise to the car. As far as I know the port is accessed by prying open the round cover on the left hand side of the dash board control panel adjacent to the cd slot. Hope this helps.

I have a 2013 model and I would like to have air vents on without the air con on but for the life of me can't seem to be able to. Any ideas?
Thanks.
2 answers
Sorry mine is a 2014 one. If yours had a digital display panel, you may find beneath the panel the control for air. An aircon sign is at the bottom corner closer to wheel side (in Australia). You can push the sign to turn it off. There are fan and other options signs separate from aircon. All the signs can be directly pushed on as using a touch screen.
Mine is the climate control and doesn't have the dials, we just bought a Yaris and we can just have the vents open on that so I know what you mean. Cheers.
