Where is the battery located in the Honda Lead 125? I believe it is a 2015 (could be a 2014). The battery is dead and I need to charge it but can't find it.

The battery is located above the headlight. Its hard to describe without posting a photo. Youll need to take all the foot and front fairings off to get to it.

Thank you. We managed to get to it. The screws had seized so didn't think that could be it but got to it eventually.

I recently charged my flat battery for 5 hours without removing the battery terminals. Now when I press the ignition a small black box next to the battery makes a noise but the starter motor won't kick over. I've checked the fuse which is fine. have I cooked something?

Hi, my honda lead had a flat battery so i charged it for 5 hours without removing the battery. Now the starter motor wont kick over. Instead a little black box next to the battery (solenoid?) Makes a noise when i press the ignition. The fuse is intact. Have i burnt something out?

Id replace the solenoid and all the fuses broken or non broken see if that fixes the starter motor issue.

Silly question if you kick start it will it still start?

how do i access the battery 2007 honda lead

It's in an annoying spot. if you are looking at the front of the scooter its behind the front cowling. you literally will need to remove all the Phillip head screws to remove the front panel once you do this and pull it apart its sitting in a metal bracket just below the horn. FYI don't remove the front cowling behind the dash its the big cowling below this that goes around the headlight. If you need you can remove the headlight cowling if you are having trouble accessing the battery.

Hope this helps I can show some pictures if you like.

Have you had a service done on it recently?

Try checking the valves, replacing the spark plug, replacing the transmission oil, replacing the air filter/s and replacing the engine oil and cleaning the oil strainer.

Also test the spark plug lead, battery and alternator see if they are ok?

If its still not ok try a compression test see if the top end is within the Honda spec.

The other thing you could see is if the transmission belt needs replacing as when they wear over time they tend to lag the take off speed i know from experience when riding the works scooters they all do the same thing when they wear over time.

One other thing have you got dirty fuel? clean your carby and re tune it by a professional also add an aftermarket fuel filter on it see if that helps?

depends on if it is left or right side --look at it logicallly, " the wheel turns anti clockwise if you look at it from the left side, so which way would the nut come off without touching it - if it was loose

How do I start a Honda lead with no kick start, bear in mind I have to hold the back brake on during starting so no down hill start.

every one that I know also has an elecric start the button of that is on the right and wears out or gets dirty, it's easy to replace and only a couple of dollars depending on who you buy it from.
If the electric start is not the fault of the button you may have to get a proper tech from honda to quote you first as it could need a replacement of something more expensive, you really should not to attempt that yourself. you can be lucky as most problems with that is usually only the switch or the wire.

You do not adddress the prob. If the battery is flat, and I am out away from home, how can I start the machine, forget a jump start,I'm away from people and towns.

I would love to help answer your question, but I haven’t come across this problem, so I can’t really help you.
Take the rear panels off and explore the then exposed fuel pipes.
You know how to remove the rear section as one piece ? The 5 Bolts you need to remove ?( passenger footrests, the one at the front bottom of the of the storage area, plus the 2 Bolts under the back seat at the rear.)
This will expose all the fuel lines and vacuum pipes ( when you remove the Rear Section )... hope this helps.

perhaps the fuel guage is at fault.

I certainly did not, as I mainly used it carry cartons of drinks and needed them to stay on a level scooter while delivering.

With the Honda Lead SCV100 having so much plastic, it is not likely to be able to fit a side stand .... I may be wrong.
A replacement stand could be obtained on EBay. They are easy to fit, the spring is the most difficult part, lye the scooter on the ground and use a strong thin nylon cable to stretch the spring and reattach... Good luck
