I have a weird and quick tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk noise coming from the undercarriage when at low speed, or at around 60km/hr speed..., went to a mechanic nearby revealed it may be a transmission/valve body issue! The car is only run 20,000 km and is a late 2015 model.
I am booked for a check for it at a Hyundai dealer in Sydney later this week. But the car is still under warranty, if needs replacement in the valve body then will I have to pay anything? Im worried as I've heard it costs thousands of dollars .

I have a 2012 GD i30 diesel and the boot won't open. Happened out of the blue. Tried spare remote. New batteries. Nothing works. Is there a way to open it from the inside? I can fold seats down and get access. I see a slot with an arrow and a pic of the tailgate up in the air. Do you slide a screw driver in direction of the arrow or something?

My hatch is jammed. Can hear the click but it won't open. Crawled through the back seat but can't even unlock it from the inside. Anyone else had this or could give some tips to try?

Ours is the same 2013 model. Hubbi took it to the Mechanic at his work today. He said the latch has seized. Ours opened from the inside. Airbag light is on, being repaired next week & tapping sound in motor on startup. All happened at the end of 5 year Warranty within the same couple of weeks. Starting to think the 2013 model is a lemon. Had a 2010 no issues at all & also have an I35 2015. We are having the airbag light which is from the steering wheel fixed at no cost.
same happened with my 2012 GD i30 diesel. Five year warranty expired in Dec 2017 so no longer covered. I've read about people getting something wedged in there, but mostly it seems the latches seize. Somebody recommended a good lube one you get it open to restore it to working. That's what I plan to do if I can just get the ruddy thing open.
My 2013 is just out of warranty and the xenon globe has gone and Hyundai want to charge me $410 to fix it. The airbag light is now also permanently on. The car has only done 89,000 km’s and is well taken care of.
Anyone know if they will fix the airbag issue given the car is just out of warranty and a safety concern?

Hi mate I’ve got a 2016 I30 active x and I couldn’t recommend it more. Great little car that we use as the family car and has more than enough room.
Don’t know much about the VW but I have heard there not as reliable as what ppl think and VW as a company are just dodgy
Thanks your reply, we have an I20, 2014 model- and one of the best cars ever owned. My wife now has the I30 Active and it is surprising just how good this vehicle is and the equipment it comes with is fantastic. My wife was a VW devotee and must admit it was a great car but with the increasing costs for diesel and the high annual service costs the I30 was a no brainer. Must also note that all of the staff at Col Crawford Brookvale were faultless and could not be more highly recommended.

We have a 2014 Hyundai I20, one of the best cars than available. Looking at getting an I30 GO sedan and mentioned to the sales person about how good the i20 was but a pity no longer made only to be advised that the I20 is still available in Europe. Why can't we get this car in Australia?

I have a 2013 Hyundai i30 6 speed manual. However, when I place the manual transmission into reverse I am getting a loud grinding noise sometimes. However, if I place the vehicle into reverse while the vehicle is turned off, it goes into reverse smoothly. Can you please tell me what is the issue here? I have change my master clutch cylinder and also my slave cylinder due to this issue and no solution.

Hi, The sound on the radio on my I30 has suddenly stopped working. The CD seconds still tick over but no sound. It’s the same on the USB and normal radio. Any ideas?
