What's everyone opinion on the new 2018 Hyundai GO with Smartsense? Are they a good car to buy and what problems to look out for? Thanks!

Like any other i30 variant, it's great! Only problem to look out of is the AEB, you may want to turn it to 'Late' another review I saw had it kicking in way to early though, this issue was only 1 review out of all the product review, reviews. The GO is great value for money, only thing it lacks is alloy wheels and rear parking sensors (it does atleast have a reversing camera :) ).

hello we have an i30 2013 model and lately it sounds like the clutch is slipping,but only occasionally.tonight it jumped out of fourth gear whilst doing 60 km,any ideas or other people experiencing this?

I can’t help with this as I have an automatic. However it sounds like you may still just be in your warranty period so best to report it to your dealer soon and get it looked at.
I had feb 2016 model with CVT. It didnot give any problems. But is seems like the settings are not as smooth as for Toyota. I hated Mazda 323 2014 model.

2018 i30SR (PD/PD2 latest generation 2017- to date). WARM START ISSUES
When your vehicle has been left for 30-60 minutes and you try to restart, does the car struggle to restart?
For example: engine turns over, limps to life at about 500rpm (usual idle is 750rpm), engine light stays on....rough idling BUT all goes away when you push the accelerator.

Seem to be a few owners having this issue including myself. I've taken it 3 times to the dealership over 1.5 months I've owned the car. They can't find anything wrong or a solution to the issue and have told me to monitor it i.e. live with it and wait if Hyundai releases an update to the ECU.

After going through Hyundai Australia ( via the motoring press!).... the dealer did manage to replicate the fault... once. The dealer, on Hyundai’s instructions, fitted a d-logger to record the fault when it next occurred. Over the next 3 days I recorded 5 incidents of the fault. Hyundai have now replaced the fuel injectors. I still have the d-logger fitted ... but so far I haven’t been able to replicate the issue. I’m testing it with all fuel grades to make sure the issue isn’t hidden.
Persist with the dealer, post all your experience on the i30 forum. Don’t take no or we don’t know for an answer. Make sure the salesman and dealer principal are aware also

what sort of problems?
Since update last week will now give directions and take you to your destination, which for the past 13 months couldn’t do. The only problem still existing is it cannot get the lanes correct. Especially where there is a slip lane tells you that your lane is ending and merge right (as though your in the slip lane) if you were to take notice you would most times be head on with traffic going in opposite direction.

I have a 2015 i30 SR. Has anyone had a problem with failed fuel pump at 66,000km? Waiting on a replacement but dealer won't provide a lender car. Also the intermittent wipers don't work but dealer Barton's Wynnum say nothing's wrong.

Re the wipers, get the dealership to demonstrate to you that the wipers work on the intermittent setting.
Thank you for your reply. The dealer has now identified that the sender unit is faulty and is replacing it under warranty

I have a Hyundai i30 2011 which I bought second hand 4 years ago. Recently my dash lights turn off intermittently - everything else appears to work but all lights on the speedometer/tachometer/odometer not working. When I have taken my car to mechanic or auto electric the problem can’t be replicated and therefore not resolved! Does anyone have ideas of what could be going wrong?

I have a 2012 Hyundai i30 and have lost the radio display. It started to fade in and out before disappearing completely. Back light still goes as does the radio and CD. Any ideas?

Have had similar problems with a Getz radio .My mechanic took the radio out and put it back in . Had a bit of difficulty taking it out. He put it back in, and it worked. Said he had the same success a couple of times previously. Should it happen again, try never turn it off ( After having a second success again that is . Worked for me . Good luck .

I have a Hyundai i30 activex, when I turn the key in ignition the hyundai screen comes on which is fine, then the dash comes on is fine, but when the car starts the hyundai screen (where radio is and left of steering wheel) the screen goes black or it switches itself off and on. I did mention this every time I have car serviced and they even replaced the radio last year, thinking this will solve the problem. has anyone else has this issue with their Hyundai?

I've just purchased a 2013 i30 Accent and I've experienced spasmodic engine shut down when I'm slowing down to park or at traffic lights, the previous owner mentioned he had not experienced this problem since he bought it new and has clocked up 43000kl, it would be greatly appreciated if some guidance could offered as to what might be causing this to happen the fuel used has always been 91 & 98 super and the car schedule service has always been meticulously carried out to the letter by the Hyundai Dealership in Sth Morang Vic, your earliest reply would greatly appreciated due to obvious safety reasons. Not sure why this question has come to me, so unfortunately as a young female driver, I have no idea. I have no experienced any such issues but diid buy mine brand new and during servicing I would get this fixed if it occurred.
Could be many thing (engine problem, fuel problem, spark plug or coil issue). I would be checking to see if its under warranty and take it to Hyundai

Why does my i30 2014 Elite model no longer retain location addresses when I use the GPS?

I took mine back to John Hughes many times as the system needs constant software updates, they should do this for free wherever you bought it from or with any service :) the other thing that sometimes effected it was the cord you use, it had to be ligitimate apple cords and your phone must have all software updates done too. Hope this helps

Want to take our 2017 i30 to the drive in but I've found that you can't run the radio without the engine running, and a message comes on the nav screen asking you to start the car before the radio turns off. Anyway around this??

You can run the radio without the engine. Don’t put your foot on the brake, just press start and accessories will come on which includes the radio.

I recently brought a 2015 i30 Active no less than 12 hours ago, I got home and turned the car off and then turned it back on to show my partner and the digistal screen is not working not sound and USB doesn’t charge phone. What would this be?
