Santa Fe SM (2000-2006)

Hi. I just bought the very base line 2006 Santa Fe 2.2 diesel. I should have checked it out better but, talking with the seller and not concentrating on what I'm supposed to be looking for, I bought a car that doesn't even tell me how much further I can go on a tank of fuel or even the Litres/100kms. I'm wondering, is the wiring under the dash and all I need to do is buy a dash with the wider odometer panel or do I need to get a later model computer as well. Please help me.

Santa Fe SM (2000-2006)

I have just brought a secondhand 2006 Santa Fe SUV Petrol,Privately. And took it for a drive up to "City View" which I wanted to see how she handled going up a hill. But now the engine light is on and staying on?? I checked online and it said that I should be using Premium Unleaded Petrol, I filled it with normal unleaded from a B.P. Servo. Also I can feel a slight surge every now + then when driving around 60-70 klms round town? Does anyone know what I should do now or what theses problems maybe? Mechanic suggested that I put an octane additive into the fuel to see if that helps, so I did. Too early to tell if it has worked. Helllllp me please.

we found that the sante fe does not like the E10 fuel, our service personnel advised not to use it and it was possibly the cause of the seal failing in the intake manifold, we found that it idled higher than should and fuel consumption was much greater, the scan-code readout was "lean on idle" unfortunately the seal could not be replaced and the whole intake manifold had to be replaced, this cost around $1500 plus labour and seals at the time, they had to source one from Korea at the time.
also keep an eye on the catalytic converters these are expensive to replace as the 2 front ones form the exhaust manifold, we have had all of ours fail all about 2 months apart.
other than that its a good car been to townsville, port pirire and did not miss a beat. tows our 1700kg caravan ok. have not done any off road in it so cant comment onthat, we got it for the tow ability.

Santa Fe SM (2000-2006)

I bought a second hand Hyundai 2004 almost two months ago from a dealer, and I just discovered that I have to replace the entire radiator. They gave me three months guarantee, not sure if that is covered, if no where can I go to have that one changed. I just got a quote for over $700 and I was searching the net for radiators and sounds like that is not so expensive. So not really sure where I can have both good price and service. Can some one help?

You could try to take the vehicle to a radiator specialist possibly such as natrad as they would probably have better parts to suit the vehicle
