Ion610. How do you attach the continuous pipe as the one that arrived in the box doesn't fit. Also the instructions say to leave the tank in the machine but the tank blocks the hole where the hose goes.

Hi Helen!
Do refer to page 11 of the manual for instructions on connecting the hose. You'll need to knockout the hole on the back of the unit and then connect the hose through it and to the tank. The tank should be fully installed in position first before you insert the hose.

I have had an Ionmax 680 that I was very pleased with. Unfortunately it is no longer working. Do you still produce them?
If not what is the closest in size as I really liked the small, easily portable size of the unit?

There's an Ionmax 681 on the Andatech website. I think it's the smallest and cheapest Ionmax dehumidifier they have.

Thanks for providing that info. I'll contact Andatech.

Hi there, this item is available at Dick Smith Electronics for $299, do you price match?

I think the distributor of Ionmax in Australia is Andatech:
https://www.andatechdistribution.com.au/collections/ionmax/
I purchased one of mine from Dick Smith online, and it was the cheapest price I could find.
I still thoroughly recommend the Ionmax ION612. When this last 2 weeks of rain started we had condensation on all the windows, which was all gone within 20 minutes of turning them on. We've had them on continuously ever since then, and there's been no dampness of internal air and surfaces. And we've had 670mm of rain already this month!

Hi K Rigney.
We don't price match our resellers :) You're welcome to purchase from them. The stock still comes from us and the warranty will still be covered by us.

Hi, we purchased the Ionmax 622 compressor dehumidifier last week and it is not collecting any water, the water collection tray is bone dry even after running for 24hrs. The humid reading has ranged from 80-89% and will not drop any lower, temperature has been around 28 degree Celsius. Is this right?

Hi,
Our Ion Max 612 is about 3 yrs old and is brilliant at collecting water, however, just recently it is working as usual but has stopped collecting water in areas of the home that are damp. Does it need a new part or broken or....? Thanks! :)

The technician will inspect the unit first to find the fault and then let you know how much it might cost to get it fixed or replaced. Is the 'check' LED lit up? If it is, turn it off and unplug it and clean the filter and air inlet and outlets, making sure they are not blocked or covered by anything. The manual recommennds that after this it should be run in laundry mode for a day.

There's many other option in the market and i wonder which one of the functions and feature is the most important

Can u share some insight on it?
Also dehumdifierbuyerguide .com shared many useful knowledge on dehumidifier, do u think it worth reading?

Hi Johnny,
For me the most important features on the Ionmax 612 are ;
1) Low speed fan so it operates without the noise disturbing me .
2) Timer lets me decide how long I want it to operate for .
3) Ioniser that gives the air a fresh feel and a pleasure to breathe .
4) That it works so well at low temperatures, like winter, performing better than standard compressor type dehumidifiers .

Regarding the dehumidifiers buying guide, I had never heard of them but did have a brief look at the website . I went right to the end of the webpage where I found a statement saying the website is an advertising format connected to Amazon - which causes me to doubt the websites impartiality .

Hope you have found these comments helpful Johnny .

Hi Does anyone know if the Desiccant need changed and How often?

Hi Lily,
As I understand, the desiccant rotor will not need changing for many years, possibly a lifetime . The desiccant is heated and dried after it becomes wet so that it is being constantly recycled with no need to replace it.
If you need more information I suggest you contact Andatech Customer Service, PH. 1300 800 200, email : [email protected]
Hope this has helped you .

Hi, my bedrooms suffer from mould growing on the walls and furniture. My room is 6x5x2.5m with ensuite attached, I'm on the south coast and it gets cold in winter (down to 0 at night) and warm in summer, mostly in the 30's but the occasional 42` day does happen. Our house backs onto a creek and the subground is sandstone based. Can you tell me if I require one dehumidifier per room, (what size for bedrooms) or can I put in a unit that will help my whole house?

When I bought the Ionmax ION612 the only guide to what area it would cover was on one of the seller's websites and I think they always understate the performance so as not to disappoint the buyer . Like you, i was unsure of what size dehumidifier to purchase for the area I wanted to be covered . I finally decided to start with the Ionmax ION612 and see how well it coped, if I saw that it wasn't getting the job done then I would consider getting a second one . Thankfully the one I bought was able to handle the humidity in the room areas I listed in my review . I do hope you find my reply helpful and I wish you good luck getting rid of the humidity .

Hi Sandy. The desiccant in the dehumidifier will attract water molecules from the air so that no matter where they are, they will gravitate towards the dehumidifier. So no matter what size room or area you have - if the internal doors are open but the external windows and doors are shut, moisture in the air will be pulled towards the dehumidifier. So a ION612 (I would recommend the larger ION632 unit which can remove up to 10L a day... the ION612 removes only 7L a day) will be able to dehumidify a whole house well enough. Of course if you have a specific problem area with mould, then best to put the dehumidifier nearby so that it is most effective. Also a reminder that you should physically remove the mould first before dehumidifying the air, otherwise mould spores will remain. Hope that helps.

Hi wondering how much power these units draw & heat out put especially in summer?
As I'm deciding which is better/cheaper to run - air con or dehumidifier.
Port Macquarie is very humid most days in summer - almost suffocating. So I'd like to dehumidify the living areas during the day & move it to the bedroom at night for uninterrupted sleep but don't want either room any hotter - just less humid.

Hi there,

I don't know about actual power usage, that should be in the technical specs on the unit's website.

I don't use the unit for cooling in summer.

I only use the unit in winter to remove moisture from damp, South facing rooms in Sydney's North Shore and it draws about 1 litre of water from each room, in 2 hours. The unit doesn't make the room hot, it creates a fresh atmosphere.

Hope that helps.

I also have no idea how much power the unit would use. I haven't noticed any jump in my power bills since I started using it. On wet days, I will leave the dehumidifer running for like 4 hours in evening. I do find that it warms the room a bit. Certainly doesn't make it hot though, and a lot of the perceived warmth could just be because it's drier.

Ionmax
Support Team A.Ionmax

Yes, it will make the room hotter by a bit. The unit will continue to function well up to nearly 40deg, however as a practical matter it may not be desirable to operate the unit in those temperatures. The design of this unit makes it ideal to use in environments 25deg and below where compressor type units become less effective. If you will only be using the unit in temperatures above 25deg then a compressor type unit may make more sense.

Hi Jula,
The Ionmax Ion612 weighs 6kgs when the tank is empty. We use Australia Post registered post for our deliveries, and this usually requires someone to be home to sign for the delivery. If noone is home to collect it, it will be sent to the nearest post office for collection, and the postman will leave a collection card for you. If you have any other questions, or if you'd like to place an order, just give us a call on 03 8899 6900 :)

Hi, from you experience do you think it will work for room sized about 10sqm or even 20sqm? I'm in b
brisbane and we got humid level betwee 65-85% normorly, and I'd like to get below 60%

Support Team A.Ionmax

Hi sealjack,
Sorry for the late reply! The unit will definitely be suitable for rooms up to 20sqm. As long as your doors and windows in the room are closed, the unit will work efficiently to dehumidify the room. The unit has preset modes that will dehumidify your room down to below 60%.
