What a surprise
Well did all the research on medium SUVs and bought an Isuzu MUX LS-T. It is value for money, very quiet when cruising, has plenty of power and room and all the fruit a person could want. Just be aware that you need to read the fine print in the ads. Driveaway pricing is only if you order white, any other colour is plus $450. Footnote, as have now done 60,000kms capped servicing is finished and boy has the cost gone up. Very disappointed and will get rid of it for that reason.

1st Year anniversary of the mighty MUX
So after months of research I finally settled on an LSU MUX...now after 12 months what does the report card say against my research. A tick in every box.
With some factory options and some after market gear and 25k on the clock..this is one happy owner. Fuel econ + (over 12 months avg of all types of driving 7.9l/100kms), Comfort +, reliability +, Off road +, everything works and still goes...exactly what the research and manufacturer says will happen ...does.
Highly recommended but a couple of issues paint work seems to be light on and a bit...Read more

It's the best car I have ever bought brand-new
The MU-X was purchased in November 2014 from Isuzu dealership in Smeaton Grange, on the outskirts of Sydney. I really can't praise it high enough. It is really a very good four-wheel-drive. Beautiful diesel engine, seven seats, air conditioning electric windows everything you need without all the fancy crap.
I looked at buying a Jeep, a Land Rover, and some other big four-wheel-drive is made in America, which on close inspection I found wanting
the Isuzu MU X has a beautiful shape, it's a big car for the girls to drive, who love it

Best vehicle I've owned to date
This is by far the best vehicle I've owned to date, it's easy to drive, park and generally maneuver.
It comes with EVERYTHING without the ridiculous price tags.
We have found it has all round comfort, plenty of leg room, air vents throughout the back as well, DVD player for the kiddies.

one of the better fwd on the market today
I purchased just recently the 2016 MUX LSM 4 X 4 5 speed auto model with some tricked up bits to bring it to the middle of the range with sat nav, reversing camera, TJM bar, second battery, redarc brake controller and Hayman Reece tow hitch. Have fitted the titan drawer system to store gear along with the roof rack system and basket . The vehicle is now 3 months old and is particularly good on fuel in comparison to the old 2000 Pajero v6 Petrol . This vehicle is now set up for towing an 18 ft single axle pop top caravan weighing in at ...Read more
1850 kg. The MUX doesn't know that the van is behind and performs well using 10.8 liters per 100 kilometers. Would expect to get fractionally better once the motor frees up a bit. The only thing that would be nice in the LSM model is to have the climate control as it is in the next model up.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Most comfortable vehicle i have driven
I own a MU-X LSU 4x2 and love it. I bought the 2 wheel drive as I have no intention of going bush bashing, but do intend to tow a van. I cover a lot of K's, my previous car had 505,000 K's on the clock when traded.
I purchased the mux in October 2016 new and have been to Goulburn and Geelong since then and found that I can step out of the car feeling great after 8 hrs behind the wheel.
Very easy car to drive and very economical.

Its great love driving it
Fantastic to drive, the only thing i don't like about the interior is that it hasn't got duel climate control really annoying because my husband and son like it on cool all the time and i find the cold badly so were all whinging driving along haha, Very reliable so far only done 29,000 klms the fuel economy is just getting better as it runs in.

Love my car
We have the top of the range MUX 7 seater wagon 4wd. We dealt with Traralgon Isuzu. They were fantastic.
Love the way my MUX handles and drives. What I think it is
Missing is USB ports in the back to charge iPads etc and the paint work is so easily scratched which we have spoken to Isuzu about and this is a common problem. We even had paint protection applied. These are the only things that let it down.
It is reliable, good on fuel, and a dream to drive and park. What makes it good also is that there are very few blind spots. As a second car if we had the money we would get a DMAX ute for hubby.

Loving my MUX
We have had the Isuzu for just under 12 months and i have found it to be an amazing 4wd. It tows our 2.6 tonne caravan with no problems, it very good on juice and the in roof DVD is amazing for the kids. Only a few miner complaints - Not a lot of storage for the driver, the front windows don't come tinted and you have to push the screen to remove the on board navigation warning. Would defiantly purchase again.

Absolutely no regrets
We have had the MU-X for nearly 10 months and love it. It doesn't drive as nicely as the Cx5 it replaced, but it is a totally different vehicle. Engine is very torquey, does everything with no effort. We haven't had it long enough to comment on long term reliability, but given Isuzu's history we have complete faith in it.
Inside is fine, have heard people say it isn't as nice as some cars and that it is like a utility inside, which it is, don't care still love it. I think in the 4wd wagon category it is the best value for money and the most sensible buy.

I'm very confident to praise this Vehicle
Very good to drive. The engine is very torquey, great for me as I tow a Caravan 20' 6". A bit of engine noise, but I sound proofed under bonnet & good now, interior is practical, good leg room, comfortable driving position, very good fuel economy, 14.7 Lts/100Kms towing 2.5 Tonne of Caravan. Stop Press!! After writing this review it has come to my attention that Isuzu will not sanction the use of a weight distribution hitch such as Hayman Reese if using with their factory Towbar. Buyers beware!!!

Isuzu Mux LST 2016
The Mux certainly reflects reliability and value for money. It does most things well but does fall short in the engine power delivery to which I would suspect that Isuzu are utilising a strategy to which Toyota ran for many years being to de-rate their engines so they will last longer that other engines in its class. This can be reassured by some of the performance specs that are being gained from these engines in diesel ute racing, and also being known as one of the higher performers in thailand for its strong engine. So all in all the engine ...Read more
has the capability of being spec'd up to perform, or be left in its ever reliable state. The main area of concern for me was the fact that the top of the line vehicle does not come with navigation system, which I find very disappointing, and simply not good enough Isuzu... Rectify the navigation system and I would rank the Mux as a great car, that could then only be improved with differential lock options.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Low tech but strong!
Strong, roomy, reliable steed but seriously lacking in technology. 3 litre motor is strong but unrefined, noisy, harsh and lacks power. Trans shifts can be quite harsh. Inside it's the usual Asian car story - plastic. A sea of plastic! No rattles and creaks but the audio is woeful for a current production car. Top of the range and no Nav. Poor quality phone integration. Poor switchgear location for ESP, electrical mirrors and rear fan. Rear screen entertainment has no headphones so everyone has to listen to what rear seat passengers are watching! Rear load cover is a throw away item!

Added a folding mirror unit so that the mirrors now fold in when locked and modified the audio wiring so that I can call from the phone book while driving! Two services and the aftersales service is pretty average.

Best thing since sliced bread
We have had our Mux three years and have driven it around just as a car and also towed our caravan over 30,000 klms it handles extremely well very economical when towing we get around 11 literally per 100 and just driving around 8 per 100. It is very roomy and comfortable if I could say the only problem we have had is sometimes the gps has a hissy if. I would recommend the Mux

Amazing BUT could be better
We love our MU-X we have the top of the line but it's a little disappointing in some areas.
It's good to run around town, fuel efficiency not as good as our previous Holden Colorado, also doesn't tow as good as the Colorado did either. (We have a camping trailer)
Interior is mint, it's comfortable but not OTT so it's no problem when my little grubs make a mess. Leather is easy to wipe over. They love the DVD player on long car trips. It's also super roomy, which is why we went with the MU-X over a prado or fortuner. Leg space for my 7 year ol...Read more

Looks good
Pulls a 19 foot caravan with ease. Good mileage on long trips. Low fuel useage and powerful engine. Exterier seems to mark and scratch easily could be the quality of the paint. Would recommend getting window tinting. There is an annoying blind spot behind the passenger seat where the air bag is.

There is nothing about this vehicle that i do not like.
It is so great to drive the seats are comfortable and there is ample leg room.
The dash is easy to see and not to distracting.
Great fuel economy even around town and if you are on the highway it is exceptional.
Great for towing our caravan Loves driving in the sand and off road

Good value and practical Family SUV
I considered and compared a number of diesel 7 seaters SUV prior to purchasing my MU-X LS-T back in August. On my shopping list was the Isuzu MU-X, Toyota Fortuner, Holden Captiva, Holden Colorado7, Mitsubishi Pajero and Ford Territory. Buying an Isuzu was definitely not an emotional purchase but a practical one. Coming off a 2004 Mercedes Benz ML270CDI which was an absolute nightmare to own and bleeding me a lot of money with repairs, I decided to go for something more reliable and practical. I test-drove the listed cars and after doing a lot ...Read more
of research and comparison, finally narrowed down the choice to the MU-X, Fortuner & Pajero, which seems to be the most reliable of the lot, before deciding on the MU-X as the Fortuner & Pajero do not come in 2WD/RWD given that I do not need 4WD as I only do City driving with mostly sealed roads and do not see the point of paying $7-10k extra for the 4WD gears). Other than that, the three cars seems to have similar driving feel/manner, so it was a matter of equipment levels and built comparison. For the positives, this car has very good space for 7 adults to sit comfortably. Built quality seems good and there are no rattles so far. The MU-X has a good firm feel whilie soft enough absorbing the road bumps and curves. The 3L engine has more than sufficient power for the car this size and I don't feel any turbo lag during acceleration and overtaking. The gearbox changes gears reasonably smooth. Fairly economical fuel consumption for the size of the car, averaging 10L/100km for mostly short trips City driving. The leather seats are comfortable for long drives, and our 3 kids love the DVD player and roof mounted screen. The parking sensors ans camera helps a great deal given the size of the car. Isuzu also has a reputation of building very tough and reliable diesel engines which further swayed me into buying the car. I recently managed to avoid an accident from an idiot driver who failed to check his blindspot and swerved to change lanes almost hitting my car despite me beeping the horn like hell to the idiot, but the MU-X behaved very well engaging the ABS and ESC keeping the car stable at all times and assisting me avoiding the accident. On the negative side, the engine sound is a tad noisier compared to the others particularly during acceleration, but cruising is a lot quieter. The cruise control can be a bit jumpy particularly when braking or cancelling the cruise control. For a top model (LS-T), it does not have front parking sensors available unike most other brand's top equipment model. Also the bluetooth connection is very basic and a bit dated, and there was no Apple Carplay/Android Auto. Inside the car, there are a lot of hard-plastics (but so do the other Japanese/Korean cars these days) although the plactics feels well built and assembled without any rattles. Given I only owned the car for merely four months, I cannot comment of servicing costs and/or long term reliability of the car but the Isuzu's seems to be well regarded by many happy owners and I couldn't find many complaints from Isuzu owners on the internet (try comparing that to the Holden Captiva's and Ford Territory's) Considering the overall value, this was a great purchase and while it is not the most refined car inside and out, it is a very practical car with a good value and a comfortable car to drive in. Happy with the car so far, hopefully for many years to come.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Better than I expected
Drives brilliantly, tows very well with plenty of low down torque. Handled hard off road work easily with other 4x4's struggling (Mitsubishi Pajero & Toyota Fortuna). Interior very commercial and could be softened. Steering adjustment could be better (no reach adjustment) . I expected a more ute like drive but the softer coil rear suspension destroyed my expectations. The dealer and Isuzu follow up and customer care far exceeds what I have received from other makers in the past.

I have a 2016 MU-X. I have found that if I open the back door ( without opening the front door) then shut the backdoor it automatically locks. I have a work bag and a hand bag that I place on the backseat with my fob in it. Is there anyway I can stop it locking automatically as I keep forgetting and locking myself out of the car. ( I cant believe this could easily happen to a mother with a baby getting locked in) Thank you
