Dyson DC54 Questions & Answers

The DC26 and DC54 machines share the same type of connector, so any accessories that came with your DC26 will fit the DC54. That being said, we would encourage using the cleaner head that came with each machine. This is as they are each optimised for the type of machine they came with. While they will fit across both machines, the performance may not be optimal.

Please be assured the Cyclones for the DC54 are the same across the DC54 range with the colour being the only difference. There would be no issue swapping the cyclones as long as they are Genuine Dyson DC54 Parts.

Sorry to hear the brushbar in the head of your machine isn't spinning. The brushbar should spin regardless of the state of the brushbar (unless very tangled with hair).

The DC54 can be determined by it's colour.

If the cyclone is:
Yellow with a red trim it is a DC54 Multi Floor
Blue with a red trim, it is a DC54 Allergy
Nickel with a red trim, it is a DC54 Animal
Nickel with a blue trim, it is a DC54 Animal Pro
Red with a blue trim, it is a DC54 Absolute

That being said, please be assured all DC54 machines feature the same suction, filtration and durability, with the difference being the included tools.

Dyson machines don't fragrance the air and we don't recommend using any sort of fragrance oil or insert with them.

The DC54 and DC29 use the same fitting to connect, so any floor tools from the DC29 will fit and work on the DC54. That being said, the stow used to store the floor tool on the machine is different, and won't be able to store heads for other machines on the DC54.

Apologies for any disappointment, however the fittings for our DC29 were changed from the DC08, so tools won't fit right on.

In normal circumstances we would not expect a turbine head to cause damage to your flooring. A loud high pitched noise could be the result of an obstruction in the machine or if the noise is more of a grinding sound it may be that there is some damage to the turbine head and the brush bar is not rotating correctly.

This machine having Cinetic technology, does not require any filter washing like some of our other machines.
