Love my MUX
I purchased my MUX 2wd in August 2016, and it is a 2016.5 2wd LST,with the 5 speed auto transmission. It was primarily for towing our 18ft van which weighs roughly 1750kg loaded. We have travelled 63ks since then, and the only fault I have found is the fuel tank is a little small for the long distance traveller. We had a 116l tank fitted so it is no longer a problem.
Fuel economy varies from low 8's on a trip to mid 9's per 100k in the city. Towing the van we got between 12 and 14.5 travelling between Brisbane and Darwin. I am no leadfoot and a...Read more

Most comfortable vehicle i have driven
I own a MU-X LSU 4x2 and love it. I bought the 2 wheel drive as I have no intention of going bush bashing, but do intend to tow a van. I cover a lot of K's, my previous car had 505,000 K's on the clock when traded.
I purchased the mux in October 2016 new and have been to Goulburn and Geelong since then and found that I can step out of the car feeling great after 8 hrs behind the wheel.
Very easy car to drive and very economical.

Good value and practical Family SUV
I considered and compared a number of diesel 7 seaters SUV prior to purchasing my MU-X LS-T back in August. On my shopping list was the Isuzu MU-X, Toyota Fortuner, Holden Captiva, Holden Colorado7, Mitsubishi Pajero and Ford Territory. Buying an Isuzu was definitely not an emotional purchase but a practical one. Coming off a 2004 Mercedes Benz ML270CDI which was an absolute nightmare to own and bleeding me a lot of money with repairs, I decided to go for something more reliable and practical. I test-drove the listed cars and after doing a lot ...Read more
of research and comparison, finally narrowed down the choice to the MU-X, Fortuner & Pajero, which seems to be the most reliable of the lot, before deciding on the MU-X as the Fortuner & Pajero do not come in 2WD/RWD given that I do not need 4WD as I only do City driving with mostly sealed roads and do not see the point of paying $7-10k extra for the 4WD gears). Other than that, the three cars seems to have similar driving feel/manner, so it was a matter of equipment levels and built comparison. For the positives, this car has very good space for 7 adults to sit comfortably. Built quality seems good and there are no rattles so far. The MU-X has a good firm feel whilie soft enough absorbing the road bumps and curves. The 3L engine has more than sufficient power for the car this size and I don't feel any turbo lag during acceleration and overtaking. The gearbox changes gears reasonably smooth. Fairly economical fuel consumption for the size of the car, averaging 10L/100km for mostly short trips City driving. The leather seats are comfortable for long drives, and our 3 kids love the DVD player and roof mounted screen. The parking sensors ans camera helps a great deal given the size of the car. Isuzu also has a reputation of building very tough and reliable diesel engines which further swayed me into buying the car. I recently managed to avoid an accident from an idiot driver who failed to check his blindspot and swerved to change lanes almost hitting my car despite me beeping the horn like hell to the idiot, but the MU-X behaved very well engaging the ABS and ESC keeping the car stable at all times and assisting me avoiding the accident. On the negative side, the engine sound is a tad noisier compared to the others particularly during acceleration, but cruising is a lot quieter. The cruise control can be a bit jumpy particularly when braking or cancelling the cruise control. For a top model (LS-T), it does not have front parking sensors available unike most other brand's top equipment model. Also the bluetooth connection is very basic and a bit dated, and there was no Apple Carplay/Android Auto. Inside the car, there are a lot of hard-plastics (but so do the other Japanese/Korean cars these days) although the plactics feels well built and assembled without any rattles. Given I only owned the car for merely four months, I cannot comment of servicing costs and/or long term reliability of the car but the Isuzu's seems to be well regarded by many happy owners and I couldn't find many complaints from Isuzu owners on the internet (try comparing that to the Holden Captiva's and Ford Territory's) Considering the overall value, this was a great purchase and while it is not the most refined car inside and out, it is a very practical car with a good value and a comfortable car to drive in. Happy with the car so far, hopefully for many years to come.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Over one year on with my Isuzu MU-X LSU
I have spent most of my life in the motor industry both retail and manufacturing and possess a Full Technological Certificate in Automotive Engineering and have been in various management positions including Fleet and Truck Service Specialist for one of the big three. So when I tell you I believe the Isuzu LSU MU-X is the best vehicle I have ever owned or been supplied for free you can take this as the truth.
This vehicle is beautifully manufactured, fit and finish is excellent and apart from two recalls has been completely trouble free. NVH...Read more

Excellent Utility
Purpose
I am a small business owner and use utility for daily city driving and carrying loads..it's very good when you own a small business and use it as a utility vehicle for carrying people and loads around town. I drove the vehicle for 13 months, put about 18,000km with hundreds of hours inside the traffic..
Location
I use my utility in Thailand where it rains (pours for months) and has bad road most of time..200-300mm flood during rain season in Bangkok..also very bad traffic, a lot of stops and go.
Pro

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!!
Very good car! A widely anticipated vehicle all around the world, robust diesel engine, perfect design, good features and most of all it's an ISUZU. The car is a very tough SUV and is the best option for those who are looking on buying a reliable SUV. Better priced than a Prado but could do with more standard features like side steps, chrome grill etc.. Excellent car Isuzu!

Great car!
After 6 months of investigation looking for a 7 seater I decided to go with the LS-U.
Comfortable for 6 adults, built like a brick outhouse, fuel consumption is great.
After 3 weeks of driving this car I look forward to many more years.
A little disappointed with the audio system.

Perfect tow vehicle
Awesome car, as a diesel mechanic with a long history of Isuzu experience I can not recommend this vehicle enough. 7.5 litres per 100klm diesel usage unloaded, that is better than a Toyota Corolla and I can tow 3 ton
Shock absorbers could have been a bit heavier but if you drive at the speed limit it isn't an issue.
There was a recall on a seatbelt bolt in the rear of the vehicle, repaired no problems and was given a voucher for $55 to spend in their spares/accessory shop, totally awesome, if Holden and Ford had this level of customer service they be in a better position than they are in now.
Be advised though, to look after the injection system

I forgot to finish off, be sure to use a 2micron fuel filter to look after the injection system

tic instead of Isuzu synthetic, also having full exhaust system..as a businessman i told them ill be back with a lawsuit, they quietly took me to meeting room and decide to look after my vehicle after 5,000km(oil changed with Isuzu synthetic oil)..i drive 1km to my work inside the city(next block).. 1. having air in (air intake or filter) or air out (exhaust) does not stress out the engine.. 2. having serviced at other shop with full proof of document does not avoid your car warranty
