Love my Jeep
I have the Jeep Compass MK 2015 in black automatic. It fits my son his friends and the family dog. We've taken long family trips in this car and it always performs well. Never had an issue with it the whole 5 years.
Purchased in August 2021 at Suttons.

I use my car for commuting and family transport
The back seats are wide enough to have two car seats and a person in the middle, I love the recline feature as well! The only thing I would like is air conditions vents in the rear as it can get a bit warm.

Jeeps are better than critics say
Jeeps always been good had Patriot for price style but was a little cramped for rear passengers was hit by young driver and both cars were considered wright offs I do question that as mine only had headlamp wing and front bumper damaged. The Compass north more room side styling not to my liking but got as a free replacement so was an good upgrade Both have CVT box love them better than Auto or manual.Don't need 4x4 it's all we want.Only things are bonnet catch on left, wipers and indicators wrong side and self cancel if you turn wheel slightl...Read more

I liked the car when I bought it. After one year of driving, one night one the busy freeway the car
Love the car, the Color is perfect, the exterior of the car is comfortable. The leg room at the back little bit tight. Running cost is more than I expected apart from the problem with safety than I don’t know how can be resolved if the service people don’t know what is wrong with the car. The car stops on the middle of the road with no warning losing the power. After may you 20 seconds starts again as nothing happened. Too dangerous to drive on the road especially on the freeway.

Excellent purchase
Been driving a 2014 compass(limited) for over two and half years now and no issues at all.
Good handling on both 2WD and 4WD, have done quite a few long trips and always felt confidant with the drive.
Decent interior, good legroom for the size of the car, dash could have been better, but mind you its a JEEP so I'm fine for it to have the somewhat old school Jeep interior which lacks the fluidity in modern cars.
A negative though is the service costs from an authorized dealer which is in the $500 range, almost double than other brand of cars.

Decent
So far so good. A simple, solid, decent car for around town. Drive is quiet and the car has enough power for city driving. It is not as refined as some vehicles in the same price range but has all the features needed. Much better than some reviews might suggest

Don't buy a small Jeep, the big Overland was a dream though.
Just like someone else (Pav), I had to downgrade from the big Overland. The Overland has been a dream to drive, high class, with everything anyone could dream of. In my better days, I have driven Rangerovers, Landcruisers and Landrovers. Out of these, the Grand Cherokee Overland was the best.
Now, it is understandably different to drive a small (I call it crappy) car like the Compass North. A bit like drinking mineral water after you have been drinking champagne for years. There are a few nice things about it, the leather seats are comfortable,...Read more

Disappointed comparing to my previous Jeep
I was a Jeep person. Due to a family reason I need to temporarily downgrade the size of my vehicle so naturally I went again for a Jeep. Unfortunately, this one is not good at all. To name some issues delivered with the new vehicle: steering wobble at certain speed, tire pressure control false alarms, consumption much higher than advertised, wind noise, one heated seat not working, self initiated false alarms in the middle of the night waking up all neighbors, remote opening failure etc. I am no longer a Jeep person.

Warning about Jeep Australia
I bought a Jeep compass, worst mistake I ever made. It turned out to be a lemon and they didn't care. They breached the contract of sale as I had items on there that were required prior to delivery. Not all were completed.
Car would stall and would lose all power while driving. The service department manager said it was because it was a cheap car and the gear box is a cheap one that doesn't really work well. After explaining the issue many times and providing video they finally saw the real problem, never fixed it, kept dodging my calls. Then when it came time for a refund they ran....
In the end they had the car (I was paying for) for 6 months trying to fix it and it was never fixed. Now I am left with no car and a debt.

Not As Bad As Made Out
I have recently purchased a Jeep Compass limited brand new and could not be happier about my purchase, I compared it to many other vehicles in the same class, and many could not come close to the value for money, looks and features that the Compass offered. Being my first venture into an American built car, I am quite impressed. The interior has ample space, easily allowing for up to 5 adults. The multimedia features are also impressive with Bluetooth connectivity,DVD playback, reversing camera and navigation. Additionally the Limited's Boston ...Read more
audio system does not disappoint any of your favorite tracks and offers strong natural bass with minimal distortion. The Limited's leather heated seats are of a premium feel keeping you nice and warm and the stitching around the seats adds to the compass's style. Being a regular night time traveler the adaptive review mirror is of a great advantage, reducing the glare from other cars. Other great features of the car include an automatic driver's seat, heated side and folding mirrors. The only fault that i could find with the interior is the lack of a soft touch dashboard, but even then that is of minimal concern. On the road the Compass is not the fastest of cars but the Limited's 2.4L engine offers ample acceleration and given that the compass is a small cross over SUV and not in the sports sedan category, the acceleration offered is more than enough for users in that market. The 6 Speed transmission is very smooth in shifting and helps to keep RPM's at around 2,000 at 100km/h. I have yet to get a true feel of the 4WD mode but given it's a Jeep it will be more than enough for light adventure. Fuel consumption is somewhat average and is around 10.0 L/100km when city driving. When at low speeds the cornering is good but too fast and it will give a tilt feeling. Overall I am impressed with the car and I will have a look at Jeep again when I want a new car.Similar opinion? Really like my 2010 Jeep Compass
have had a couple little things, like the ball bearings in the one back tire, that cost 190$, Grogan Chrysler jeep reimbursed me since the noice started about the time the warranty expired. Right now front ball joint on one front tire is being replaced, cost around 270$. Luckily I am in for 24,000 mile checkup. Otherwise......I am satisfied.

Would never hire one again
Was offered the Compass (4,300km) as an 'upgrade' when renting a car at Brisbane Airport for a couple of days driving around - country and city. Not sure what i was expecting but I did feel disapointed with it. Major grips in no particular order: 2L atuo underpowered, handles like a shopping trolly, seemed to use a large amount of fuel for distance I travelled, transmission noise was obvious and irritating, brakes lacked any kind of feel and appeared weak, the petrol cap is a shocker - the hinge on the cover will not allow you to take a firm g...Read more
rap of the lockable cap it is unclear what way the key needs to be turned to unlock and then what way the cap needs to be turned to release locked or unloked, turned or unturned it just roteates with no feedback as to when you have it in the right position to give it a (stiff) pull to get it off, when I returned the Compass and they asked me what I thought of it (strange that they should ask - or not?) I told them and they admitted that others had bought the car back nearly empty of fuel because they could not manage to fill itSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love my Compass!
we bought this instead of a rav 4 & are soooo happy with it.
Fun to drive, easy to park, luxury accessories and great warranty service! The only negative thing is that a rearward facing baby seat means the passenger or driver needs to sit a bit awkward. But for price comparison I can't complain! Such a bargain!

Slightly Unfair Reviews
I bought a new Jeep Compass MY14 Manual Sport at the end of November in 2014. I was after a simple upgrade from an old 1995 Mercedes - something that was reliable, relatively fuel efficient and something that could easily be packed for a road trip to the beach/snow/Queensland (1,000kms away).
So far the Compass has been perfect for my every needs. I picked it up at 80km's and have now done 4,500kms. I chose the manual as I believe it gave that extra power control needed with only the 2.0L engine over the CVT which I found incredibly sluggis...Read more
h. The manual isn't great but it is bearable for what I need. It has been a super comfortable drive so far and passengers have frequently commented on the comfort of the vehicle whether in the passenger seat or rear seats. The road noise might be a little more than other cars? I don't know and doesn't worry me. The Compass I have is only 2WD as well which I wouldn't go for again however this deal was too good to pass up. I managed to buy the car brand new for $20,000 up in Brisbane. Being an under 25 year old driver the insurance costs I found far cheaper than my Mercedes. The basic model includes all the necessities like Bluetooth (as a side note you can stream audio from your smart phone which many many many reviews say you can't. You'll just need to sync the phone as normal and press the button on the back of the right side of the steering wheel in between the volume controls), voice control, heated seats, heated side mirrors, tyre pressure monitoring, compass, fuel consumption info, 12 radio presets, hill start assist, good stock speakers, CD player, and a hidden torch in the boot. Around town the 2.0L engine is fine. Helps make for good fuel consumption (I get around 9L/100 in urban, close to 7L/100 highway). With 3 years warranty and free 24/7 roadside assist I plan to hold on to this car for the 3 years and will likely look at selling afterwards. As people have mentioned up steep slopes you will notice the sluggishness, it's personal preference about how much of a deal that is - I'd recommend to definitely test drive one. The 2.0L and 2WD is a slight disappointment that will change in my next vehicle.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Would never buy one...
I just rented an almost new (3,000km) Jeep Compass. I drove it on freeways, up and down mountains and parked in various odd places. I found it very, very underpowered going up reasonably steep roads near Springbrook, but hardly the steepest inclines. Sat Nav was average, if I didn't have a sense of the right direction at times and fully trusted it, I'd have taken wrong turns. Reversing is tough, I see why it has a camera, because the rear side view is almost completely blocked by weird rear side window design. Suspension on tight highway corners feels like you don't quite have 100% control. I would not buy one even at $10K less than RRP, which I was shocked at. Jeep needs to do better to compete.

Little room in back seat
Took a Jeep Compass for a test drive. A big issue for a family is that the console extends into the back area, especially the cup holders, effectively not allowing three children, let alone adults to sit in the back. Appeared to be underpowered for the size of the car.
Internal design inadequate

Seduced by great adds we bought a Jeep Compass at the end of November 2013. For three months it was great. A nice drive in fact. Then in March it just failed to start. The remote opening wouldnt work from more than 1 metre away. The care was towed away. A fortnight later we got it back. The following day I just shut down while we were 30k's form nowhere. Another week and a half went by and we got it back. Fuse problems apparently. Although they looked at the power harness as well. Two days later it was on the truck again after shutting d...Read more
own, again 12k's from town. That was five weeks ago. Still no car. However, they have finally decided it was the power harness. Now that harness has to be imported from the states via who knows where and it could be at least another 12 weeks before we get the car back. So be warned, don't buy a Jeep, well mine will be for sale when we get it back. Make an offer. Nice Drive Towed away three times and the service department have had it longer than we haveSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
