Good tow vehicle, rip off servicing
My 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee (diesel) tows a 22 foot Supreme caravan very well and with better fuel consumption than a 200 series Cruiser, although it has to work hard at take off and up hills. Very comfortable, great manoeuvrability with a tight turning circle. But probably won't buy another Jeep because of the rip off for servicing. $526 for a minor service (30000 km) and $1000 for a 40000 service, most of which is inspect this, check that. The oil they use must be mighty good going by the cost of it, yet it must be replaced after 6 months even if you have done few kms. I know when I'm being conned.

A big investment to get you to buy by Chrysler but they play hard ball if somethings not right
We bought 2*2014 jeep grand cherokee's (1*SRT and 1*overland) They are really nice to drive and seem relatively well put together. One of them has a brake knocking noise that is clearly not normal and has agreement from the mechanics that it doesn't occur on other jeeps of same model but Chrysler will not deal with it, by saying its normal. How to defeat this without hours of writing and calling.. easiest answer is wont buy another jeep. Amazing that a company spends so much on advertising but will have unhappy customers over relatively small i...Read more
ssues. So the review is,,, if you buy one, fingers crossed nothing goes wrong as there is little satisfaction for customers in their policies. We also damaged a piece of the electronic radar..which is placed low in the bumper bar,,,any small bump, tiny nudge can bend the screws that hold it... obviously not a warranty issue but more than $4000 to put a new one in,,, and of course you can not buy the screws alone. It hasn't been a happy experience with many recalls and dodgy electronics such as cannot turn off the emergency brakes slamming on even though they have an on off switch and of course once again being told... Chrysler says its normal. My suggestion is...if you love the car and all its inclusions, buy one but if you want trouble free motoring.... think about an alternative.Similar opinion? Style power for towing and those ads they get me
Those ads attracted my attention first up then we looked at the suitability for towing our caravan. Then on checking the specifications we Decided it would be suitable for our towing requirements. We took one for a test drive and questioned others who owned one read the. reviews in a number of motoring magazines and decided to purchase. We have now had our Grand Cherokee for 8 months covered 20000 klm mostly towing a 22 foot caravan half way around Australia and are very impressed with the performance of the vehicle.

Love My Jeep
After owning our Captiva for 6 years it was time for a trade in. We bought our new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Nepean Motors Penrith in December 2012 and can honestly say it's the best decision we've made. This car has every option imaginable plus more. Have heard a few complaints from Jeep buyers but I think most of the complaints are from Compass purchasers. Have not had a single problem to date with this car, thankfully. I have not had a need as yet to contact customer service but the team at Nepean Jeep Service Centre are excellent. The onl...Read more
y negative which is a minor one, is that rather than having a heated steering wheel they should have a cooling steering wheel for the Australian market. When it's time to trade in I will be upgrading to the SRT :)

Very good so far. Much much better than the older models
2012 Overland Hemi V8. Very pleased so far, though as most others note, there is still a few niggles and service from Jeep dealerships is a bit hit and miss. Waterpump had a drip at 20000km and was replaced under warranty, then have had to have the stereo head unit replaced twice; firstly the nav stopped talking to me, and the second time the USB port in the center console decided not to work. Car was returned to me with Mapping for South Africa. Handy as i live in Western Australia. A bit of googling showed me how to get the engineering menu u...Read more
p and to change the settings to Australia. Thankyou John Hughes service dept for that attention to detail. Otherwise, i have had a few software updates done during service which improved the gearshifts and driveability. Quality, fit, finish and driveability is a massive improvement over previous models (i had a 2002 that literally fell to pieces), is superbly quiet and has lots of great features. Hemi V8 is heavy on fuel, but i expected that. Have been offroad a few times and no problems. Overall I am thoroughly enjoying the car.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Like the comfort
We have a JGC Overland 2012.
We do love the car, but it has issues when driving off road.
Twice we ended up with FCW OFF coming on. Now the "eye" for FCW is lose and almost falls off. The dealer said that he never had this problem before.
But worse is that we lost the 4WD when driving through sand along a beach. It went into rear wheel drive only (would have preferred front wheel drive ;( )
We had to get help to be pulled out. Embarrassing.

2012 Overland Diesel. Great Car but Poor After Sales Support from Jeep Meliville WA
The Jeep Overland is a great car there's no doubt. I bought mine in 2012. The problem is with the poor after sales service from the service department at Meliville Jeep. As can be expected from time to time, things can go wrong with any car, it doesn't mean it's a bad car but you would expect, especially for the money you pay, you would receive prompt and efficient after sales service when problems do arise, particularly when the vehicle is still under a new car warranty.
In early June this year, I took my vehicle to Jeep for a service. ...Read more
There were a couple of issues that needed to be looked at and repairs done under warranty. The day I took the vehicle in to the service department, I received a telephone call later that afternoon from a service representative. He asked to keep my vehicle overnight because they needed more time to do the necessary repairs which was fine. What I didn't realise at the time was that the car had a fluid leak as I found a small puddle of dark red fluid on my garage floor the following morning. I called the Service Department, spoke to he same service representative and told him what I had found. I asked if he had noticed the car was leaking fluid. He said no but would look into it and call me back. A shorty time later, the representative called back and advised me that they had found the leak. I was surprised that the car had been in for a service for more than 24 hours and no-one had picked it up and I wonder whether they would have had I not discovered the fluid and made a call. I heard nothing from Jeep the following day and ended up having to make a call mid- afternoon to follow up and find up what was happening with my car. I was told the vehicle would be ready by late afternoon. I picked up the car later that day and was assured all problems were fixed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2012 With Unsolved Engine Problem
I have a 2012 Grand Jeep Cherokee Overland diesel 18 months old with 52,000 klms on the clock. I was on a round Australia trip towing our van of approximately 3 tonne when going up a steepish hill I lost power. managed to get to the top where I stopped and rested the car. The transmission was very hot. I started the car again and drove for about 2 klms when the engine light come on. I drove to the nearest town, when engine started to ping badly so i pulled over and called jeep road side assist. Ended up on tow truck to nearest dealer. They ha...Read more

Disappointed
I brought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 2013 waited 6 months for delivery. I picked it up August 2013 ant I have only done 6,500 kms in 8 months and it has not been off road. I had it to a perth service agent twice for a warning on the dash and asked for a report on the issue and I never received. I have now had another new issue with the exhaust filter nearly 100% full. The car will not drive over 70kms and is very sluggish on take off. Has been on the diagnostic machines twice and had a new filter and now it has happened again. I am glad I haven't planned a trip up North or around Australia as I definitely wouldn't feel confident in the cars reliability.

icle ok to drive doesn't need towing. Rang dealer service next morning told them I was annoyed they delivered it with a fault. Told me it should go away after a few starts and to contact them Monday if it hadn't. It didn't. Took vehicle back and they took it off me saying I can't drive it. Ordered a turbo seal and converter (assume catylitic converter) and IT IS NOW FIVE WEEKS and they can't give me (yet another) estimate. Commencing legal action to unwind the whole deal.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
