Basic Plus, Basic, Plus, etc...Not fit for purpose
Bought for occasional home use - clean the mower, verandah rails, motor bike, etc. The K2 has adequate pressure but not great cleaning power. Probably the flow rate is too low in this unit. (it's worth researching flow v pressure before deciding on a pressure sprayer) Anyway it didn't matter much because the outlet hose blew off after around 6 hours use. Female thread is shot. I replaced the cheap plastic M22 fitting with something more robust only to see the remaining cheap plastic Karcher coupling fail. I don't want to pay to further repair an obviously under-engineered unit so will be buying a sturdier (non Karcher) machine.
I've written the Karcher up to experience, and written this review so that you don't have to.
Purchased in August 2021 for A$150.00.

More Chinese-built junk! Don't waste your money!
My partner and I had bought and returned no less than TWO Ryobi pressure washers, which both failed within minutes of starting to use them - so we went looking for a pressure washer that might be satisfactory quality.
We investigated the Karcher K2 and were confused about all the different models.
Total Tools had about 3 different models of Karcher on the floor - at least one of which was obsolete, the salesman told us.
This should have been a warning - but my partner was impressed with all the Karcher "tooling" and attachments, that were avai...Read more
lable for this machine. So she bought this Karcher K2, for $199 - thinking that by paying a little more than she paid for the Ryobi, she'd get a worthwhile unit. We took the Karcher home, set it up (easy to do), fired it up - let the trigger go - and then came a BANG! A housing under the cleaner had fractured and it was pouring water out everywhere, from underneath! This was nearly an identical failure, to the TWO Ryobi pressure washers, we had just returned!!
Purchased in March 2021 at Total Tools for A$199.00.

Good for its intended use, Key word, intended.
I was skeptical of buying this K2 pressure washer initially because of some of the reviews on here - all I needed was a small electric pressure washer for the weekend car wash. We have a petrol pressure washer but it's a pain to use on the car, I wanted something small, cheap and not insanely high pressure (petrol pressure washers are overkill for cars). Long story short, if you use this pressure washer properly (read the instructions, manage your expectations of pressure, allow water to flow out of the lance BEFORE turning it on and don't keep...Read more
the trigger squeezed to unnecessarily long, it will serve you well. I've had mine for about a year now and used it almost every other weekend to wash my car and its served me well, extended warranty is also a bonus. While it isn't perfect (the hose could be longer) if you just need something for your car and you read the instructions, the Karcher K2 pressure washer will fit your needs.Purchased in December 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Hardly worth it.
This is as cheap as pressure washers come. The nozzle output is average and while it saves water compared to running a simple hose, in a lot of cases it takes longer to get the job done with the little K2 than simply using a garden trigger nozzle due to the lame pump pressure.
It may be useful for applying detergent on cars using a foam lance but if you want proper cleaning power you need to look for at least a K7 or Gerni Super/Pro series for electric units.

ely cooled. After about 10 seconds of running, the hot electric/plastic smell becomes apparent and repeated instances of that will melt the pump as it is known to do. Do you really need a pressure washer? If yes, invest in a higher end unit with a long hose reel and brass pump. If no, a $10 garden trigger will outperform a Karcher K2 for 99% of tasks.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Pump failure
What a pile of s#*te this unit is. I will never buy from karcher again. Used a handful of times over a few years and it burst the pump. Split the casing around the Plastic Pump. Junk bought from Bunnings. Very bad design of pump. Disposable after a few times of use. Don't waste your money on this one.
Purchased at Bunnings Warehouse for A$99.00.

One of the worst buys I ever made .!!!!
I bought this online through Kogan. First mistake as their service is very hard to contact. Product arrived with missing part. That was sent out eventually . The product says it was made in Germany so I had resonable expectations for quality. I bought it in February and have had used it only three times. In the middle of my third experience it started to make a screaming noise. It sounded like water was not getting through to the motor. I rang Karcher to find out about service and was told that the nearest service point is at Eastern Creek NSW....Read more
Which is 60 kms from my place at Dee Why and over 75 minutes each way then I have to collect it. The Karcher support member was very flippant with her response and offered no sympathy as it everyday recurrence. This is not my only bad experience as we bought a Karcher steamer that failed after a few months. Fortunately we brought this from Bunnings who kindly exchanged it rather that sending it back to Karcher for repairs. Lesson one do not buy Karhcer home products. And don't buy online unless you like driving a long way for service. PS I was not impressed at the performace of the K2Purchased in February 2021 at Kogan for A$229.00.

Good So Far, But With Some Warning Signs
I bought this purely to attach to a snow blower for washing the cars. It was literally the cheapest model in the Karcher range, with a corresponding lowest pressure in the range. That is not an issue, because I don't really want too much pressure when washing the car - I've got a different high pressure washer if I need to do heavier work.
There are some worrying signs with it though, mostly down to build quality / longevity -
- after minimal use, I can smell an electrical 'burning' smell. That's not a very encouraging sign that it will las...Read more
t for years. - because this model doesn't have wheels, I have to pick it up and move it around. The carry handle is a weak plastic loop which is quite flimsy and has fallen out of the latch a couple of time already. - the hose isn't very kink resistant. I am worried that in the long run I will accidentally kink the hose and destroy it - replacement hoses aren't cheap. Anyway, I guess as always you get what you pay for. It does what it says it does, I'm just worried how long it will do it forPurchased in May 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$99.00.

Low pressure and detergent intake wont work
We bought this Karcher 1400W K2 High Pressure Cleaner - With Home Kit after a Bunnings employee recommend it over the Ryobi. Sadly although more expensive than the similar version in Ryobi branding, it was not better. The pressure was insufficient to clean walls and the intake detergent mechinism did not work regardless of how many times we tried it using a variety of methods recommended on the Karcher and other sites. Taking it back for a refund. not fit for purpose.
Update - Bunnings refunded with no issue and we bought a Ryobi instead.
Purchased in April 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$149.00.

Terrible after sales support
After a year of occasional light use, the pressure hose split. I went to get a replacement but they want almost the cost of a new machine just for the hose! Also it's not covered by warranty as Karcher considers it a 'consumable' part. Wasted time and now the machine is useless.

Trading on brand name.
I've had a few Karchers, I used to have the bigger model with all the accessories, but it crapped out on me, water ran straight through it, so I bought another one the same, or maybe that was the 2nd one?
It was a few years ago, and exact details are a bit sketchy.
Less than a year ago, I bought another, but a basic model, I had plenty hoses and accessories.
It's been ok, I don't worry too much about all the handles and stuff falling off it.
But just lately it has been blowing the hose off of the motor unit, I've screwed it back on, and pu...Read more

good quality
I've been using the K2 for 5 years, there is my comment
Pro
The build quality is excellent, which means materials are durable
It is easy to use and set up
It comes with all basic attachments and allows you to handle most of household clearing jobs
Con
The pressure is not strong enough to clear super dirty things
It doesn't come with foam cannon nozzle and you have to buy it separately, unlike other brands it comes with the foam cannon nozzle as free
But overall I am very happy with its performance and build quality, it looks like it is going to last for a long time.

Does the job
Definitely gets the job done and very easy to use. My mother loved how the front fence and garden bricks looked after I pressured cleaned it with the Karcher. I found it safe to use on my car as well and was happy with the end results. The driveway also looked great and rejuvenated.

No good
The motor started burning out after six months of very light use. I washed my motorbike and truck twice, house windows and gutter once.
Sent it in for repairs at the agent, received it two months later only to find it in a totally dead state.
I used suitably rated extension cords, never ran it dry. My fathers cheap Ryobi is still going strong after 5 years of almost weekly use.

Waste of time, energy and money.
My first Karcher pressure cleaner lasted a few weeks. I have just bought a second one to replace it which doesn't work to begin with. I have spent ages on the phone to the support staff who ended up just telling me to take it back. What a waste of time and money.

Do Not Buy This Product
This is a dismal product it really is. Only a fool would buy this. I have purchased two and both
have burnt out on the second use. The First time I thought maybe it was my fault but when I read on line overall about a third of purchasers are dissatisfied with it for the same reason. It is not well made and burns out very easily. There are other products on the market and whatever you buy it will be better than this. Avoid at all costs. Allan

Would not reccomend
I set out to only leave reviews where I could be positive about a product, however I would like to save someone money by sharing my experience. We have had a bad run of luck with these (3 have died on us after minimal use). Thinking it might be something we were doing wrong, or some unknown factor, I asked a number of people their opinion and it was always the same - not good quality. Sorry to leave a bad review but the evidence needs to be shared.

Compact gear for modern city
We living in the city first things it living place. Sometimes we needs cleaning up our car or goods path way this little thing really good. Compact to store. No worry for the rust. It's not too powerful. But without chemical liquid help even the powerful blast can not do the job properly only damage your goods.

have had basis unit for 2 years and just unpacked. Packaging says "can draw water from a bucket or water tank". Instructions only refer to hose. Surely there needs to be some contact between karcher and bucket?
1 answer
Attach a hose to the inlet and stick the other end in a bucket of water or hook up to a water tank instead of a mains outlet.
