Had to replace the old Rank AC
There are not many options available to replace the old box units.. either Kelvinator or TECO.. decided on the Kelvinator. It fitted the previous hole a little better. The price was excellent from the God Guys on a 20% paypal campaign. The unit itslef works well though a little noisy. This is the reverse cycle model.

great unit, no issues & great price
upgraded to this 2.7kw unit from an older no name brand that was 1.6kw. it's only to cool our bedroom in an old, hot, rental house but 1.6kw didn't do a great job... this new Kelvinator KWH26CRE is awesome! it's much bigger and very heavy but it does a great job. only gripe is that it's hard to drain the condensation out because it's underneath the unit, which means we have to struggle & lift ours due to set up. other than that we LOVE it.

Does more floor space than it says
Best wall air conditioner I have had to date. It covers a much larger floor space than it says in comfort. I recommend it for anyone with larger floor space and lower ceilings. It is very much a cost effective option and especially in a beach shack or landlord situation

Problems right from new - disappointing
I bought a Kelvinator KWH39CRE air conditioner about a week and a half ago (16/12/2016) and since new while running, it occasionally flashes up "88" (in digital) on the temperature display and then runs the fan only before cooling again (like it is resetting). Occasionally, it will also shut itself off automatically and does not respond to any panel or remote control inputs - I would have to switch off the power at the wall for a minute or so before I could turn it back on again. I bought the a/c from Appliances Online and they asked me to cont...Read more
act Kelvinator directly. As Kelvinator are closed today (Tuesday 27/12/2016) I have emailed them a summary of my problems. When running though, I have been impressed with the unit's cooling efficiency and noise levels. I'll update this review to advise of Kelvinator's response and customer service attitude.3 comments
I tried ringing your customer service number 131349 but it was constantly engaged. I have just emailed you.
Update: Kathy from Electrolux rang me and arranged for one of their authorised techs to come out and examine the unit. Adam from Krisp Air attended inside of a week and replaced the 'control box'. The... Read more

Poor Product, poor service, avoid at all costs
Have had this air conditioner for less than 2 years. Last summer it worked perfectly maintaining a comfortable temperature in the room throughout the hot tropical summer here in Cairns. This year when the hot weather arrived i turned the air con on but my unit has lost the ability to control the room temperature. The indoor unit has a digital display which when you first turn the unit on displays the ambient room temperature which in my case seems to usually come up as 27 or 28 degrees which reems quite reasonable then i set the remote to cool ...Read more
the room. I used to choose 25 or 26 degrees the previuus summer which was vey pleasant but this summer the room became uncomfortably cool at this temperature. i began to observe the unit it operation noting it never stopped cooling the room ie it believed it had not teached the desired temperature even though in reality it was well below the temperature set. I also noted the fan on the compressor unit never stopped or slowed down as is usual with inverter units. i experimented with setting the remote to higher temperatures and discovered that setting the unit to 30 degrees did not activate the cooling mode only the fan operated which seemed reasonable as my unit is ground floor has great flow through breezes and never gets really hot .At 29 degrees it cools the room to about 23 degrees operating for about an hour in cooling mode when the anbient temperature as displayed on the unit when first turned on was 27 degrees so in reality should not be cooling at all. At any temperature below 29 degrees it just goes on cooling constantly until the room is uncomfortably cold. I called the warranty repair devision from Electrolux and explained the issue. Immediately they arranged for a service agent here in Cairns to call me so set up an appointment but said if i did not hear anything in 4 hours to call agent direct so 6 hours later this is what i did arranging for the first available appointent three days later. The agent turned up at time arranged, examined the unit and deemed it needed a new computer board and temperature sensors and that parts would take a week to arrive and he would be in touch. 8 days later i called him to be told parts were still in transit. Finally 2 weeks since oredred the parts arrived and service agent phoned saying i would have to wait a further 5 days for his next available appointment. i was not happy with this so i contacted electrolux again to see if they could speed up the process. They tried on 4 occasions to call the service agent but he did not return their calls. They said they could get another service agent to come out the following day (Friday)and that this agent had parts in stock they believed would fix the issue and that they would bring them with them. I agreed. This visit did not happen the following day (Friday ) instead on Monday but on Friday i was contacted by Electrolux technical expert to discuss the issue in detail explaining how it had worked perfectly previously but now not so. He spoke with the new service agent and presumably gave him some pointers. On Monday the new service agent arrived no bag, tools parts or ladder with him. He entered the unit and straight away said the unit was too big for the space. I explained it was a body corporate rule only one air conditioner unit per unit was allowed so the unit had to be capable of cooling the entire space (45M2)which it had done beautifully the previous summer with no issues.Prior to his arrival his company had called up asking for the unit to be operational for some time prior to his arrival. It was set to 29 degrees at 9 am when the ambient temperature in the room was 27 and as usual it started cooling the room that was already below the temperature set. He did not look at the indoor unit closely. He recorded the serial number of the outdoor unit and observed it working with the fan blowing very fast some hour after the unit had been turned on. He then went back to his vehicle and retrieved a digital laser thermometer. He held it up to the indoor unit and recorded a temperature of 26 degrees. The unit was still set to 29 degrees and was still in cooling mode. The bottom of the unit is mounted at a height of approximately 7 ft with the return air opening on the top at 7'6" minimum and this guy was about 5'7". as he had no ladder he came nowhere close to the recording the temperature of the return air which is the air temperature to used by the air con to decide to cool or just be in recirculate mode.I thoroughly explained all the scenarios as detailed above to him. He said he had seen this before with this brand of airconditioner and that all he was sent out there this day was to report back his findings. Today i waited to hear from Electrolux but eventually called them as I had heard nothing . I was told to wait for a call back and i have recently just heard back. They have spoken with the technician from the previous day, the original technician from 3 weeks ago and their own technical expert to whom i had spoken last friday and collectively they had come to the conclusion that there was no fault with the unit. They had no explaination why the unit had worked perfectly the previous summer. They said it could be because in their opinion the unit was oversized but could not explain why this would cause the isuuue this summer but was fine last summer. The room has not shrunk!. They said as no fault had been found as far as they were concerned there was nothing to repair and that they would be taking no further action.i asked them to explain how the first service agent had examined the unit far more thoroughly than the second agent and had deemed a new computer board and temperature sensors necessary. They explained he was only trialing the parts to see if they made any difference. I then asked them to for these parts to be fitted to see if it resolved the issue they refused stating the second technicial had found no fault. So if you want an air conditioner that only operates as it should at one temperature 29 degrees which in reality is closer to 23 degrees and you want very poor warranty service by incompetent technicians buy this unit if not avoid at all costs. i will be taking this matter to Fair Trading as this product is not fit for purpose and their aftersales service is very very poor.Similar opinion?
