Terrible
I believe that the engine is not powerful enough for the size of the vehicle. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.
Cheap
At 3.5 years old, 47,5000kms the engine was blown. Kia replaced the engine but would not supply a courtesy car. When traded in, it went from $38,000 down to $13,000 in that time.

DONT BUY A KIA!! A decent car maker wouldn't put faulty engines it their cars to start with, but if discovered later would do an immediate recall!
The engine is absolute crap! ( search around the net and you will find hundreads of people who have had to have the engine replaced 2 or 3 times in the space of 120,000KMS).
Customer Service from Kia is absolute rubbish!! Don't expect any help from them once you've bought the car, you'll just get contradictions and lies.
It's the only 7 seater people mover that is affordable to the average fami...Read more

Hi,
to all prospective carnival buyers i have one word of advice - DON'T
This vehicle is a lemon.
I bought a 2000 model BRAND NEW and it blew an engine under warrenty,WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. then at 80,000 km it blew another engine. Kia did not want to know me. it was going to cost me $5,000 + to replace new engine and head gasket.
Kia will not help you once it is out of warranty. I complained and complained until they agree to replace the engine but i had to pay the labour and the cost of the head gasket ( $3,000) I got rid of it as soon as i got it back.
DO NOT EVER BUY A CARNIVAL - THEY ARE A LEMON.

Just replaced the idle air control valve on my 2004 Carnival LS. when I started it the motor ran smoothly. after about 2 mins it started to drop revs & miss so I removed the IAC & MAF connectors. This killed motor. I reconnected the two plugs then tried to start motor again but will not start. I have no taco or spark from the coils. I hope the repairs are not expensive as I can't afford it on the pension. Thank you in advance, Denis.

I have a Ls carnvial 2005 starts fine idles fine but when u go to drive it has a miss and a surge under load when u on open road in 4 and 5th gear it runs fine any clues
