I own a 2008 Cerato and love it. Obviously, buying a car is not a decision one would take lightly. When the Cerato was first suggested to me, the name Kia stuck out as a lower quality vehicle but that picture very soon changed! My own a tyre business so we have a large number of vehicles pass through our doors every day. The Cerato is so wonderfully priced for such a high quality car. I recommend it to anybody I can tell. Did you know that this is actually the same care as the Hyundai Elantra? Well, it is, just better priced. You can even have ...Read more
a look for yourself at all the parts under the bonnet! The Hyundai Accent actually also has "Kia" stamped on the steel wheels. This car has great underbody protection, an awesome sound system, it's roomy, the rear seats fold down absolutely flat (and 60/40 split), fog lights, cruise control, a gutsy little 2.0L engine. I could honestly go on all day. Test drive one and I'm sure you will love it too! Everything! Looks great, quality, performance, price.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nice to buy for an experienced driver. Alright for intermediates and can be a concern for newbies. Overall it's a good buy.
Great looks and power. Good interiors and quite comfortable as well as for the price. Good looks for the price.
Not good handling. Stiff steering and steering wheel can skid if not used properly. Chance to flip if over skids.

I have the car for three years now and will never buy Kia again. Waste of expenses for cheap plastic do not really appeal to me. It is worth exactly how much you are paying it for.
Engine is quite powerful. High level of equipment for such a small sedan. Looks very nice from outside. Good size boot.
Not functioning handbrake from the beginning! Never park it on a hill and try to reverse! Poorly adjusted clutch. Technology of the engine is a bit old and the consumption of petrol is on a higher side. Body panels are quite thin, so you must be very gentle with it.

Overall this car has exceeded all of my expectations and indeed when it comes to the interior, it has all the comforts one needs to make driving enjoyable. If this car had another badge such as TOYOTA or MAZDA it would sell for another $6,000 to $10,000 more. Don't be fooled by car manufacturer's BADGES. Test drive and see before choosing a car.
I have the 2007 Kia Cerato in Sandy Beige colour which makes this car look quite classy. This car drives like a dream except for a couple of small details. One cannot go past this car if looking at valu...Read more

A cheap very reliable family car that will challenge your perception about Korean cars. Should be everyone's mind if you are looking at the market for sub 20 grand reliable family transport. Quality abound at a cost that is very affordable.
Contrary to popular perception of this relatively new comer on the market this little car from Kia, a Korean company is a surprising package with loads of free stuff and is very very reliable. I bought one 4 years ago brand-new at a drive away deal with full options and with regular servicing at the Kia deal...Read more

I bought the manual MY04 model new. I hated the Kia hubcaps, but managed to get a decent set of wheels and tyres pretty cheap, looks great! I regularly tow a 6x4 trailer with no trouble, even filled with crushed rock.
During regular driving, I average about 8L/100km, which I consider very good economy. I do a lot of highway driving, so I love the cruise control (when I bought it, it was the only manual in its class with cruise control). The stereo/CD player is adequate at best, with 6 speakers.

r the warranty expired (constantly showed 1/8 full). Caused me to run out of fuel once, but it fixed itself later. Apart from that, I haven't had any other reliability issues. I would definitely buy this car again. Great equipment level for the price, good fuel economy, surprising amount of grunt, cruise control, tows well, cheap to service, very reliable. Feels cheap (I suppose that's 'cos it was), original hubcaps were awful, temorary fuel gauge problem.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

You cant beat these Kias for Value for money, keep them in excellent condition and serviced on time every time and your resale value stays high, :-))
The Cerato is my second Kia, my first was a Shuma. I done 82000 k's in that with nothing going wrong at all,not even a light globe or belt or hose was replaced. Brakes were still the original pads and rotors the same. The Cerato seems to be just as good, in fact the finish to the car is up there with the Japanese counterparts. So far i have travelled 30,000k's with no probs at all, love the air co...Read more

Great car to drive, high specs for price of car. Reliable, easy to drive and park. Good all round vision. Would certainly buy another Kia.
Currently own 2006 hatch version. Great on fuel, car looks good, huge hatch when rear seats folded forward. Cruise control is magic (helps with fuel usage), comfortable, stable car to drive. Good head room. Smooth gear change and whisper quiet engine.
Nothing at this stage (owned car for 14 months).

This car is my commuter car which I purchased in Dec 07. I average at least 500k's per week and considering I spend a lot of time crawling along in peak hour traffic I looked for a car that was cheap and reliable but as I was going to have an auto for the first time it also had to have a 2 litre engine.
All over the web the "expert" car reviewers called it a bland, boring, reliable car good for getting from A to B. All the people who bought it seem to rate it as 4 out 5, so it seemed to me be be the perfect commuter transport.

as proved to be exactly what I wanted, good reliable transport. I also plan to pass it on to to my daughter in future years so when I purchased it I had it optioned with antilock brakes and the side and curtain airbags and the price was still under A$22,000. One thing that does surprise me is how many people comment on how good the car looks, they always seem to think it is a much more expensive car, it must be the fancy chrome grill they put on it. Value for money, good honest performance and fuel economy. The car is comfortable to drive, looks good and fits nicely in my garage (I have the hatchback). The central locking is Psycho, it is alway trying to relock the car even before you get in. It even locks the car when you put a blinker on or go over a bump. I had the service guys have a look at it and when they connected the diagnostic computer to the car the problem instantly fixed itself, unfortunately it came back two weeks later. The only other con is that the auto transmision wants to change up too soon. I think it has been programmed to get to top gear ASAP for economy reasons but it is annoying when you are in heavy traffic as you can hear and feel the engine labouring. Quite often when I am in the 40 - 60 kph crawl on the freeway I will place it in manual mode to keep to a lower gear.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We bought ours on the net, traded in a Terracan, didn't even test drive it, just met the dealer halfway between him and me, exchanged paperwork and keys and that was it. It is an 04 man sedan and had 40k on its clock and 3 yrs later now with 91k on it. We have not yet had a service and the only thing that has let us down is the battery so we can't argue about that. We would get another one for sure because where lese can you get everything as standard cruise, elec windows, fogs what more can you need, regards wiskas.
Looks good, goes good

I have only had this car a month or so, having bought it off my sister who purchased it new 2 years ago. There have never been any problems with it, and the only repair that had to be done was because of vandals, not because of the car itself. Very good steering, air conditioner is fantastc. Good sound from stereo, and pretty good fuel consumption. Havent had problems with brakes as others have reported.
Very nice shape, good quality interior, good fuel consumption with about 450km per tank. (auto model)
Most sunglasses dont fit in the sunglasses compartment over head.

Overall its car for people who just need to get from A to B and aren't worried about image, quality, style or comfort as the Kia Cerato offers none of these things. It's a utilitarian car, designed for a low cost factor (much like a tractor in some regards). The internal fitting were quite below par compared to most other makes (especially european built cars) with loose, ugly plastic in my test model. Also the engine idled and drove rather harshly with a distinctive ping, which was worrisome in itself. Personally i would rather pay a little mo...Read more
re for a better, more comfortable and higher quality car. Looks are decent enough as they appear to have copied the design from european small cars. Price is ok as well. It appears rough arroudn the edges from the internal trim down to the rough working engine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

After 18 months & 47,000klms I have not had a problem. Economy has been good. The car is well optioned and nice to drive. My wife finds it easy to drive & it has sufficient power (105kw) for overtaking etc. A 2 litre car costing $3k+ less than other 2 litre cars.
Nice looking (hatchback), great value, well optioned, strong & proven (Hyundai Elantra) motor, good economy (36mpg driven hard).
Gearchange could be a bit more positive.

Fair price for our 3rd and last Kia. Clutch failed at 30,000kms, dealer and importer unresponsive. A 2 litre vehicle at this price is a big plus. Spark plug lead failures in earlier Carnivals and Mentors seems to have been fixed.
Responsive engine. Good fuel economy. Modern styling.
Poor importer support. Front type wear. Low clearance at front.

If you are looking for a solid, value for money medium size sedan with the grunt of a 2.0lt engine you can't go wrong. With power windows front and rear, cruise control, lots of storage compartments, 2 airbags, this car is hard to beat as a family sedan.
Cerato has to be one of the best value cars in it's category. It is packed with features and the 2.0lt 4cyl engine makes it a pleasure to drive. It is a medium size car with a solid "big car" feel and sound road handling to match. Build quality is excellent and design very functional. Rear seat leg room is good and there is a generous size boot.
Gear shift a bit loose, but not really a problem. Head room for rear seat adult passengers could be better. The CD player is not MP3.

I have owned other new cars before but the Cerato is by far the best. Go straight to your Kia dealer and buy one today.
Everything is fantastic. I get about 750 Km's out of 55 ltr tank. The person who is gettig 300 k's must have a hole in their tank. Cruise control is great.
There is nothing I can say that is bad

Superb vehicle, spacious, economical and stylish. Great value for money. Have owned Toyota's and Ford's, and the finish on this vehicle is up there with Toyota. Would recommend this car to anyone.
Well finished, very well optioned for the price and economical to run. My wife loves the car and that is a great recommendation in itself.
Clutch, brake and accelerator pedals a little too close together but apart from that minor complaint cannot find much to fault with the car.

This is a great car for the money, it's cheap enough to be a first car for a younger person interested in learning to drive, due to its simplicity. also for those interested in the 4cyl carmarket this car has much over similarly priced models and even more expensive ones.
I think that the Cerato is a great car to drive. All the controls are simply labeled and easy to use at a glance. The internal space has great acoustics for an after market stereo (even though the stock one is above average). With the sporty body kit it really makes the car lo...Read more

Good car, good model, good seats, bad fuel economy. Nice car. My car is 1.6 DOHC motor, maybe if the motor is bigger and the weight of the car not too much. I think the proportion of power versus weight should improve the fuel economy.
Luxury car for the money. Great model.
BAD FUEL ECONOMY. With the full tank you only can ride aprox 300km (in city) in highway the fuel economy is better, you can improve 600km with the full tank. Whatever I live in the city, so my gas is not reliable.
