I have a 2013 YD model with the 2.0L engine. The start/stop button electronic button is playing up. Often the steering wheel will not unlock, meaning the car cannot start. A message comes up in the instrument cluster saying to turn steering wheel left and right to unlock it. Its hit and miss and often takes a very long time for the steering wheel to unlock

I have a 2013 Kia Cerato S model and the Display Screen has blacked out, radio goes on last set station but also fades in and out. So..no reverse camera, no audio Sat Nav; this is my second display unit that has failed very dissapointing

Yes, my wife has had the same problem. Kia replaced the unit 3 times but now the car is out of warranty and they won't fix it. The last unit is about 18 moths old which under Australian consumer law is clearly not an acceptable life-span, warranty or not! This in my opinion is a big fail on Kia's part and spoils an otherwise good car. I am looking at consumer complaints because it was clearly a known problem with this car. In fact my daughter in law had the same problem and Kia replaced her's with an updated unit! Why not my wife's?
I am having the same problem with my computer display screen its not turning on and my radio goes on and off its driving me crazy (pun not intended) lol
and yes my reverse camera isnt working
is there a solution?
I cant afford to pay $965 for a new unit which is what the dealers is asking to fix my problem
I have a 2014 kia cerato, I had mine replaced a few times when it was new. Over the last few weeks it has been going on and off. This morning at 4am turn on to go to work black screen. There is obviously problems with this unit if everyone is having problems.
Really $965 for a new unit. Maybe a class action against kia might be in order.
I haven’t had any other problems with the car just that.

I have 2015 cerato hatch 58000ks which just stopped whilst driving. Replaced battery... put 5 Litres fuel in as was low but not enough to run out...car still won’t start. Towed to Kia Dealer waiting on diagnosis. Serviced less than 5ks ago at Kia dealer.

I can no longer play music from my Samsung Galaxy S8 on the stereo in my Cerato Sport+(2018). It says something about 'information not available" I can still make phone calls and the radio still works. I have disconnected Bluetooth and rebooted but to no avail, I have tried connecting the phone by cable but no joy. My music still plays on my Samsung. I am due for the 1 year service in August (I won't get to 10,000) but I'd like my music back before then.

Can you get the GPS to show your current speed?

No. it shows the current speed limit for the road which with ours the software is still not updated, so is sometimes not even correct. We have had the new car since Sept 2018 and still no update in the software, and our radio cuts out.
My Dec 2014 Cerato showed current speed but I had to have a new system fitted and it no longer shows speed or has a dvd player :(

How do I change the battery in a 2015 Kia Cerato SLi? Can the battery connects simply be undone, the battery lifted out, replaced by a new one, reconnect the cables?

I bought my Kia Cerato in May 2017. I use it mainly driving for uber. On wet roads when try to accelerate from stop the front wheel acts like a jackhammer. Since the first warranty service I reported the issue with Kia, they said there's nothing wrong with it. It is the anti-skid system which is normal. I tried to be careful not to hard on the gas when the road is wet but it happened a few times. I'm suspecting the action has affected the suspension. The car now done 85k on the clock. The car is now feel uncomfortable to drive when there's bump or the road surface is rough.
My question is at 85k kms do I need new shocks or the suspension can be software tuned?

Hi Rod, my car did not do that on wet road normal to me. what is your KIA? sport version? mine SLi..... 2013 shock or suspension has no issue.. i guess from 2016 onward KIA has change the suspension kit they said more stiff and good in handling... from your experience driving till 85k not comfy, i know KIA will not able to assist you...but for road bump of coz not comfortable if the original KIA tyre has low profile.. what about you change to non low profile tyre see how it goes.?
SLi no issue with suspension or any uncomfy drive.. as SLi model they stop selling in Australia market...
have you try to go KIA Noble in Chullora if you happen to live in Sydney... look for Paul.. he is very generous guy probably he can help you..then let me know what he say about your suspension issue. cheers SK

Again a faulty GPS in my 2015 Cerato. The original one expired in 2018 and was replaced by my Kia dealer.
Unfortunately the replacement one is sub standartd. The alert section of the device ( which I use to warn me of speeding, school zones or red light cameras ) fails to operate all the time.Very sporadic in its operation. I have been back to the dealer 3 times and also contacted Kia's customer service,They refer me back to the dealer.
We ( the dealer and I ) have compared the operation of my GPS with another Cerato's GPS with the same result. Does this mean that all Kia's GPS's are faulty?
Kia told me they would update the program in the device then at the last minute said that it had the latest update already - strange, after I wasted 3 hours at the dealers, waiting for the update.
Their advice was that I would have to live with the problem. What's the use of a 7 year warranty if they don't honor it ?
The question is what is the next step.

I have had running lights fitted to a 2018 Cerato Sport - fitted by an auto electrician, They work fine coming on with the ignition and going off when the headlights come on.
