I'm guessing yes, however I have tiles. Maybe a spray mop would work better for timber floors.

I have wooden floors in my bedrooms and have used the steam mop with no problems. Though i didn't leave the steam mop lying in one position for too long. Just do mayby one pass over. Couldn't see any streaking on them either.

Kmart will refund you or give you another one. I've used mine a few times the only downside is the streaks on my tiles. But quite a few diff brands streak also . I think I might look into seeing which ones don't streak.

Hi Iqra I used it once on my rugs with the glider and a little dirt came out. They arnt really that dirty but i might see if I can use without the glider. Personally I think if you have a toddler you may be better off with an appliance that does everything . Check them out at the Goodguys they have ones that do hard floors and carpets. X

Has anyone tried attaching a glider to the Kmart mop so it can be used on carpet? Some of the more expensive steam mop brands come with a glider.

Yes I did two large rugs not the shaggy type. These rugs have been in high traffic areas for over 3 years and there was only a small amount of dirt on the pad . But I do have a 3HP ducted Vacuum so they may not have been too dirty. Will have another go again. Overall it seemed to work good.

Hello does this mop stay constantly hot or heat up and turn off, heat up and turn off like an iron?

Hi Emma J. After you fill the tank and switch on at the point, the mop begins to heat when the red light in the front of the mop comes on - the steam is only activated when the handle is moved towards your body and you move the mop over the floor - it stops when the handle is back in an upright position. I think that answers your question. Cheers Big Boy

Sorry, I only have tiles as well, the guide book recommends "This product can be used for cleaning floor surfaces such as sealed wooden floors, ceramic tiles, granite, marble flooring including some types of carpet vinyl. Try it on an out of sight area first to ensure the surface is not damaged by the steam. Should not be used on surfaces with soft or heat sensitive coatings like wax, enamels or oils.
Hope this helps
