Does Kogan Multi Function Cooker keep food warm after the slow cooking cycle is complete? If so for how long?

Hi HannaG,
Yes the cooker will enter warm mode and as far as I can tell it will keep food warm for some time. I have had mine keep warm for an hour so it could be even more time if allowed.
Hope this helps.

If I wish to use half quantities in casserole cooking do I need to use a shorter cooking time, I am only cooking for one!! I have only used it once and I am very impressed, slow cookers are too slow and pressure cookers too quick. I made a great" mild chicken curry"by McCormick Slow Cooker pack using half quantities, very tasy!!

Hi Hazelk,
I would quite personally just use less time if you are cooking a smaller amount for yourself but then again it may depend entirely on what you are cooking. If it is less food you are putting into the cooker treat it as if you were cooking on top of the stove and it also depends on your cooking temperature. I found by experimenting you will eventually work out the times and temperature for more or less food in the bowl. Hope this helps.

I have just bought the 9 in 1 multifunction pressure cooker. How do I set the time I want the appliance to cook for? the instructions in the manual are not clear on this and the machine seems to have preset times only. thank you

If you look at the front you will see the clock..press that and then press either the plus or minus to either add or minus the hours or minutes. The same thing applies to changing the temperature..press the temperature and once again the plus or minus signs. You can change the temperature and the time on all the menues. Hope this helps.

Got one question, this machine can be a rice cooker also? Thank you!

1 answer

Hi April,
It has Rice on the menu but I have never tried it as I prefer to use my microwave cooker or the absorbent method.
Also I use my own cooking temperatures on everything I cook which is what I like about this multi cooker so with the Rice I really can't tell you.

I purchased this machine and I would like to make a loaf of bread. I am following the instructions, and it says press the menu button to warm up mode, I have tried this and there seems to be no warm up mode in the menu, could you please help?

Yes, you are absolutely right! The only thing I can think of is maybe select temperature to very low (as low as it can go) which would be just enough for the bread to rise for the 20 minutes and then select "bread" mode to cook. As I said earlier, I haven't cooked bread in mine as I have a bread maker.
Good luck hope it works for you.

Gail00
Gail00

Well I did think about doing that, but just ask the question in case someone else had the same problem, and also the receipe says bake for 60mins, which also you cant do, it allows you to set it for 55mins bu not 60.
I think the booklet that I downloaded has nothing to do with this multi cooker, I really think there should of been another book that had more recipes for this multi cooker.
I think it is going to take a bit of time to work it out through trial and error, which is frustrating.

gpick

Correct. There is no selectable "warm-up mode". But Lorraine_Khan is pretty right. You can adjust the time and temperature for whatever other mode you choose, and the machine should go into "keep warm" mode after cooking. So maybe: Set it to "Yoghurt" mode, but adjust the time down to 5 minutes (the minimum available; in other modes the minimum is 10 minutes) and the temperature down to 40 (again, the minimum available). It will then "cook" for only 5 minutes, at the temperature of a hot day, and then go into "keep warm" mode. You just have to keep an eye on it so that it is in that mode for as long as you want it to be. [And you could always delay putting your dough into it until after that initial 5 minutes at 40.]

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for your question.

The Kogan Multi-function Cooker does not have an air frying function and unfortunately, we've just sold out of our most recent air fryer (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-2000w-35l-low-fat-air-fryer/).

If you subscribe to our newsletter and keep an eye out, we might release a new one very soon.

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for your question.

You can manually adjust the cooking time and temperature using the respective buttons.

Whilst we cannot provide you with exact recipe and cooking information, we do have some recipes towards the end of the user manual.

We also recommend experimenting and finding what recipes and times/temps work for you.

Hi, just wondering how big the bowl is in this appliance. Could it cook for 2 or 4? Also with the deep frying option how many chips could if fit? Thank you so much. Stacey

Hi Staceycat,

Thanks for your question.

The bowl has a working capacity of 1.5L.

This should comfortably cook for 2-4 people. Unfortunately, I cannot say how many chips would fit in as they would vary in size and shape.

We also have a few handy recipes in the user manual found here: https://www.kogan.com/media/files/usermanuals/KACKR4LMLTA-A.pdf.

Hi Joy,

Thanks for your question.

You certainly can cook chips in the Multi Function Cooker.

It has a deep fry function which, with the use of oil, will make chips.

For more information, you can view the product manual here: https://www.kogan.com/media/files/usermanuals/KACKR4LMLTA-A.pdf.

If I want to use the machine as a steamer, how much water do I put in the machine? Should I wait for the machine to finish warming up before I put the veggies in the steamer or just put it in and forget until the machine is finished?

1 answer
Kogan
Ross x.Kogan

Hi David,

Thanks for your questions.

There is no specific amount of water that you'll need to add, and this will only really change the time that it will take to boil. For the best results, we'd recommend allowing the water to heat before putting the veggies in the machine.

I used this link from a user above, it is a simular machine and it has plenty of things to cook, like most booklets it isn't everyday food, but you can compensate for other ingredients. Use a standard recipe and compare to something simular in this cooking instructions, I too am new to the machine, lets hope we can make something yummy. :)
