No complaints
I've had this machine for 6-7 years, never had any problems and I'm a lazy washer, throw everything in at the same time, jeans, towels, T shirts, blouses, all in together. The only 3 cycles I've used is fluffy, tub clean and quick wash.
The quick wash water level won't go higher than 4, that is the only problem and it really doesn't bother me, don't know if it's always been like that or not.
Prior to buying this LG, I had F&P and it had this incredible spin cycle where everything came out almost dry, I miss that but would rather LG washer as it's never needed any repairs.
Never cleaned the filter as I never knew it had one, only found this out through reading some of the reviews.

reliable workhorse
I've been using the machine for 7 years. Never failed me, very good machine. I guess many do not follow the simple rules and then complain about the quality. My advice would be to look after your machine: do not forget to clean the filters, and now and then run the "Tub Clean" program, just a simple maintenance, really.
The only feature I feel lacking is the "hand machine" program.

too many problems
I purchased this in 2012. Last year they came out to repair and I was told that he basically replaced all the parts (this also took 3 weeks to achieve and I spent a lot of $$ at a laundromat in the meantime). Was so annoyed I didn't get a new machine. Now it is not working AGAIN. About to call them and go through the whole process. Wonder how I will go. It has a 10 year motor warranty and we purchased and extended 3 year warrant when we purchased. Wish me luck!! Will never buy LG again.

Automatically dry problem
Hi,I have H650 problem.
When we use automatically wainshing, and at the end of washing between rinse and dry, it's big problem, when machine finish rinse, and going to dry,at that time it goes back rinse to fill in the water and rinse again and again, never stop rinse and dry. It's annoying, but when I try to manual try, it's working.

Good Machine
I purchased this machine about 5 years ago and it is still doing a good job.
I'm not a fan of having to clean the filters each time but it is relatively quiet and cleans pretty well.
I prefer to use the shorter cycles to save time and water and find that it still clean and rinses thoroughly.

6 years later...
I bought the LG WT-H650 in March 2011. It is now March 2017 and it won't start. The on/off button does not work. Fortunately this product has been discontinued but I would have expected this to last a lot longer than 6 years. I have had second hand machines last longer.
The call out fee is $77 plus $27.50 per every 15 minutes plus parts. I think I will need to buy a new machine as it does not seem worth it.
Over the last few months, I have noticed brown specs on my clothing after being washed. I tried to do a tub clean, I also cleaned o...Read more
ut the filters and used regular warm cycles as recommended. This did not solve the problem. I had to hope that the specs would come off when hanging on the line. It's a shame because it is easy to use and has a few good cycles that can be customised to suit your wash.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

LG Top Load Washer in 2017
I love and adore my brand new LG Top Load washer from Harvey Norman. It has great features and functions to protect and wash your clothes according to the different types of fabrics and care. The make and model of my Top Load washer helps to maintain the weight, noise and speed so that your clothes is effectively clean and fresh at all times.

Alright BUT
It is quite hard on clothes so I use the light wash except for working clothes, It has a 10 year guarantee which is a plus. When washing woollens it will only wash on warm which I disagree with. If your washing gets rained on you cannot simply spin the water out and hang it out again - it would have to go through the whole wash cycle. Its OK but I wouldn't buy another one.I

Left clothes with brown gunk over them.
Had this machine for a couple of years now, was great at first but now my washing is more dirty then before I washed them! Wish I had read reviews before we brought it, nothing worse than having all this brown stuff all over our clothes. Tried cleaning the tub with vinegar and bicarb soda (twice) and at the end of each cycle the brown gunk was all over the tub. Absolutely terrible machine, now I'm gonna have to buy another machine.

Best machine I ever had - minor IE Error issue
By far the best washing machine I ever had over the last 20 years. Average a new machine every 4 to 5 years. This machine worked without fault for 2 years, then one day it wouldn't fill with water at the beginning of the cycle. The tub just kept spinning round and round at slow speed. In the preceeding month my wife started to use fabric softner in the machine. Only after doing a Tub Clean cycle with bleach followed by a Dry Tub cycle did the issue disappear. Has been good for another year (now 3 years old). However today it returned to the sam...Read more
e issue. Did a Tub Clean but no Tub Dry cycle. Machine worked again but went out on IE error code 14 minutes into the wash and couldn't be recovered. I then did a Tub Dry cycle and all is good again. Two loads completed without issue. Quality of washed clothes is excellent. No other issues encountered.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
The worst machine I have ever had
This machine has ruined my clothes, leaving brown marks on almost everything despite my cleaning it with descalers etc. I have had 3 pumps in 4 years, hoses block, clothes are constantly tangled. Stopped mid-cycle today AGAIN so I am going to drain it and take it to the tip! Has been trouble from Day 1.

NOT PERFECT
Like everyone else who brought a LG washing machine, it drives me mad, the dirt, lint, scales of brown dirt, stains my clothes. Why weren't these machines recalled, I bought this machine 2 years ago, I thought it was the powder I was using, changed to liquid, no difference. We all should get a refund. Never will I buy another LG appliance...

Major problem with water in
All the clever stuff only sometimes works. Machine refuses to turn water on sometimes, then beeps madly and displays IE error code after 10 minutes. Other times it works fine. Has been like this since new, getting worse and worse after a couple of years. Washes ok when it does work.

LG machines are Rubbish
I purchased machine in Oct 2011, they have been out 5 times to fix and has never been working properly now they are refusing to fix. The tub inside the machine is rubbing on the plastic around lid and has shredded the plastic all over clothes which melted in the dryer! Now they claim this is not a manufacturing fault?!
Everything, worked for the fist 12 mths then problems. Mould and grim build up in the lint filters is disgusting

Wish I'd bought something else
I spent many hours researching washing machines in December - was keen for a top loader. I was recommended the fisher and paykel wash smart series, and I wish I'd bought that. I don't find the chiming annoying and it certainly seems easy to use - but the lint thing is definitely true, I've never had problems with lint before and now every wash has it, and the pilling is terrible. So sad to have just spent so much money on a product I hate :( I haven't had tearing yet but I wouldn't be surprised if it did it, even clothes I've put in garment bags have come out with threads, etc. Don't buy it.
Easy to use
Lint, clothing damage

Tears pieces out of cloths
Hi, This machine replaced a Fisher & Paykel which I had for 15 years and love it! However, I was convinced by the salesman at the Good Guys that the LG was far better because it did not have a centre agitator which made loading and unloading much easier. However, to my horror I discovered a chunk had been torn from one of my new tee-shirts during the second wash. This has happened periodically over the last 2 years and now I am trying to decide what to replace this piece of rubbish with!
WARNING: It tears clothes!
Not much!
Besides tearing pieces out of my clothes, the spin dry cycle leaves the clothes quite wet!

unhelpful! From now on I won't bother warning others about doggy products, you can all find out the hard way, just as I did with the that LG washing machine!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Our machine won’t automatically drain. We can lay the hose flat on the ground and then it will manually drain but not when its during the cycle and in the sink.
We have replaced the drain pump and it’s still not pumping out.

Hey there,
Firstly I'm NOT a washing machine repair man, but a retired TV repair man that used to fix most stuff at home.
I've actually just got rid of the same model, major failure of bowl motor and drive PCB and not cost effective to repair.
Without being hands on it's hard to say what the problem might be on your machine but there's not a lot involved in bowl drain - pump motor, hoses, drive PCB and cables from memory.
Given that the thing drains if you put hose on the floor suggests strongly either pump motor, pump control PCB or electrical cables and since you've replaced the motor already, that only leaves a pump motor control problem.
I don't have a schematic or anything but from memory the pump is driven directly either from the main display PCB or more likely from there and then via the smaller drive control PCB (also drives drum motor) that sits underneath.
Neither PCB is serviceable and is sold as a complete spare part, the smaller control board is around $150 from bigwarehouse.com.au although you may do better.
The larger main PCB is also available but at around $500 pretty much writes the machine off.
Good place to start is to measure if there is any applied voltage to the pump motor during drain cycle, then tracing cables back to the drive source (one of two PCB's) and measuring again to see if you have a wiring fault.
If no applied voltage at either end then you're stuck with expensive board replacement.
A word of caution though, pump motor is likely 240V mains driven so for someone inexperienced, poking around in a place where there's 240V mains is potentially LETHAL!
If you're not familiar with how to work with electricity, don't go there, much better to replace a machine than suffering electrocution (I've lost a few friends over the years who should have known better)
Hope that helps
Cheers and good luck,
Rudy
Thank you Rudy, I really appreciate such a thorough response.
On a side note, how good are Big House Spares?! I’ve used them a lot recently for various appliances, including the drain pump for the washer and have been very impressed.
I think we’ll just save any more problems and invest in a new machine.
Thanks again!

Hi my WT- H650 6.5kg LG shows a UE error code and makes a loud scraping noise during the spin cycle and stops spinning. We have checked if the machine is level. Any suggestions?
