No answer but mine has been doing this too. I tried descaling and I suspect this is the scale/funk coming out because it has nowhere else to go!

Hi, I have had steampod knly for couple of days and when I used it first time I was really excited as the results were great. I cod hardly hear the steam coming from the straightener and the water container was quiet. Second time however the container started being very loud and the steam seems not being supplied continoisly but kind of in strong waves. Is this normal? Or shall I return it? Many thanks for answer...

I think you should contact the manufacturer.

The instructions clearly state to only ever use Demineralized water and therefore you should never have a scale problem.

I actually use a de Lorenzo heat protectant from my hair dresser. My hair feels so much healthier after straightening with the Steam Pod. And my medium length frizzy hair takes 15 mins from wet to salon straight silky smooth :)

There is a range of heat protectant from L'Oréal steam pod you can buy but I have continued to use the ghd spray, which works quite well

Is tap water good for the steampod?

2 answers

No 1000% NO! The reason for this is the minerals and other elements that go into the tap water. It combined with the way the straightener works is not good for either the straightener or Hair. Distilled Or bottled water is best and will give you the best results!

Yes... i use tap water & have done for 3 years

Hello! I have the professional steampod. Somehow, all the tiny balls of the water filter moved to the upper tank (the one we put the water in). What shall I do??? Can I throw them away and use it without water filter???

steam pod leaking water can it get fixed?

Hi I would recommend contacting the manufacturer details in manual or on box generally it's best to talk with then who may need you to send in for repair or have a recommended repairer! If it's leaking stop using immediately as this is attached to an electrical item you risk serious harm if water and electricity come in contact

Hope this helps

My steam pod is not producing steam anymore a year and a half old ! Is it fixable ?

This maybe likely to the build up in the steam jet holes unplug the item give them a gentle clean with warm water on a cloth and only use a distilled water not tap water where possible the stuff in tap water causes build up like in a shower so I recommend bottle water

The steam in mine stopped today. Then I realised the clear bit of the tank had moved slightly leaving a gap. Make sure it's not that.

Firstly make sure you have checked the settings and that it is not on a lower temperature or that you have enough water short of these things you may need to change the socket or power point you have the item in there could be an issue with the socket- if all else fails check your warranty conditions and call them for further assistance

Frances

Thanks but done all that but the thing is temperature appeared it doesn't show the lock . Even when you passed the steam pod through d the result is not the same

Hi no I've had mine for a couple of years .
The only time I've had no steam is when cord is twisted . You need to wait a little for it to heat up and I just open and close iron until steam comes through .
I have only seen one faulty one where the water leaked out if container .
Not sure how long u have had it if new take it back if older make sure steam holes are not blocked with product or heat protect build up .
I use mine every day .
