Handle won't come out

published

This is the first time we've used the machine. It has rolled out the pasta great, but now we need to cut the pasta into fettuccini and the handle won't come out. Currently trying to 'coax' it with a hammer but no success. Bottom line, it looks pretty but don't buy it.
Looks good, rolls good.
The handle won't come out which makes it utterly useless

So agree with this comment...horrible

Pretty good

I've only tried it once, but it was straight forward and easy to use. The plastic handle and clamp have now been replaced with metal ones, so they are quite sturdy and do a decent job. I tried the attachments that came with it and everything worked fine. To clean it before putting away I run kitchen paper through the rollers, but will probably have to get a wooded dowell for the other blades.
Easy to use, easy to clean
The recipes are not the best, but easily fixed with Google. I can't seem to find accessories locally for it.

Fresh is best

Love my Marcato pasta maker, from Fettucini to Ravioli I use it weekly and have no trouble, for the fifteen minutes it takes to make fresh pasta, I will never buy pre made again. Had a cheaper brand pasta maker first, threw it away as a waste of money. The ravioli attachement took only a little practice and am now loving whipping up my own ravioli fillings for a quick mid-week meal ( I make it on the weekend and freeze for through the week). Have now bought my daughter her own Marcato machine as well.
Solid, grips well to the bench, easy to use, looks good.

The Fasta Pasta Maker

A great low tech machine.
I use the manual version with great results from what is a really well made machine.
Italian quality ... say no more!
Shop around for the best price as it does tend to vary considerably.
This little machine works really well .. the trick is getting the dough mix right, the machine does the rest.
Simple to use

I bought it 10 years ago and never used it until a month ago.
We have now used it twice a week, my relatives are gluten intolerant, it is the first time in decades that they are eating Lasagne whit their flour, my sister went and bought one herself
Easy and quick to assemble, the flour to egg ratio is important, I use 1Kg plain flour and 600gm eggs NOT 10 eggs because they come in differing sizes
Yes plastic handle will break in time.

Does anyone know where I can get a new plastic handle?

Great - I've made raviolo with this very happily. It really helps to have been shown by an experienced pasta maker what the dough consistency should be, and how to use it, though. I'm not sure the instructions would be enough without that.
Easy and quick to assemble and use, works very well. Nice deep clamp (I have thick benches).

Homemade pasta tastes so much better than anything bought dry from a store, but the time and effort required to make it means that dried is usually purchased in preference.

However, this pasta maker really does make it quicker and easier to make pasta yourself. Though it may take you a while to be able to make ravioli confidently, everything else is a really simple and requires almost no cooking skill to produce.

It's worth spending the little bit of extra time to use this, because it won't take that much longer, and the final product is certainly preferable.
Easy to use and versatile. This lets pretty much anyone make their own pasta without difficulty.
No problems using this.

I love this pasta machine, everything about it is solid and well made. DON'T WASH THE MACHINE!!!! If you immerse it in water it will most likely rust, I was advised by a chef not to wash it but to wipe it down with a damp cloth and brush the blades etc with a pastry brush, when clean add some more flour and store.
I have found if my dough wont bond, I run it through on the highest setting it will soon be ready to use.
Simple to use, everything is very straight forward to clip on and attach. Heavy well made machine, nothing rattles or jiggles like some other machines.
The ravioli attachment only uses a tiny amount of filling and it a bit fiddly to clean. The clamp can get a bit rickety if using it for a long period of time..

If the clamp (I refer to the plastic strew part to tight up when attach it to the benches)can be matel as well that would be good. Mine first machine that plastic screw part broken after using for a while. so I have to buy another one. I think if the attachment for making other shape of the pasta can be included in the package would be great. This product is definitely much better than the cheap type sold in Big W.
easy to assemble, easy to use (my 3 year nephew can use it to make noodles once we prepare the dough for him). and easy to clean.

Terrible

published

Very disappointed, particularly as I researched pasta machines and this is the one I wanted. The quality is terrible. I suspect these machines used to be good, but now they are poorly manufactured. I will buy another pasta machine, but definitely not this one!
Italian made and had good reviews.
Turned out to be cheap rubbish! It didn't even last a night. I made spaghetti for my daughter, which was great, but when I tried to make fettucine for the adults, the handle jammed in the machine and is still stuck there. The metal used is a cheap alloy which you can't even get wet (so you can't actually wash it) or it will ruin the machine. It would have been much more durable and more practical if it was made of stainless steel.
