Looks good, but poor quality
Bought 3 of these fans 4 years ago, and they were great for about a year. We then started noticing that the high and medium speeds were the same on one of them. Fast forward another year and another one did the same, and the final one now only has 1 speed... very low!! There is very obviously a common issue with the fan controller mechanism, as many other reviews all state the same. Very disappointing that Martec has not addressed this, and continues to sell these fans. Buyer beware!

Avoid trouble: buy another brand
Our fan didn't work, so we changed it and the 2nd one worked for a short time. The store kept the remote by accident so our electrician gave us another one and now the customer service says if it's used with a different remote the warranty is voided. Avoid Martec.

poor quality, failing remotes
Purchased 3 Martec ceiling fans approx 4 years ago. Only ever used in Summer. They have been a big disappointment. 2 of the 3 fans have an annoying tick that comes and goes when the fan is in use. More annoying is the constant failing of the LCD remotes that were installed with the fans. The LCD remotes just keep dying for no reason, and previously Martec told me they have had QA issues with them and other people have had the same issues, and now today they refuse to acknowledge they have had issues and just direct me to go buy new remote...Read more
s from retailers. However you can't just buy a remote, you have to buy the remote kit which includes the receiver that gets added to the fan, but that components has never had problems. So I'm forced to buy a full kit when I only need the LCD remote. Never buying Martec products again. size of blades suiting smaller sized room failing LCD Remotes, noisy fansSimilar opinion? Hi Nyz,
The fans are covered by a 3 year in home warranty. it sounds like a simple fix of replacing the capacitor inside the fan, which can wear over time or be affected by power fluctuations etc.
