Can't believe this speedo issue has taken the Zoom right out of my new car purchase, I can not stress enough how disappointed I am regarding this problem I actually felt it was quite dangerous to be travelling amongst interstate trucks doing on average 7k's below the speed limit. My Mazda dealer tells me that Mazda won't fix the problem as it falls within the 10% variable on imported cars speedos, so buyer beware this could also be a problem for anyone else!
Great car, easy to park, very economical to run, plenty of cargo space with back seat d...Read more

Bad
My friend just bought a 2006 Mazada 3 SP23. Top of the class, I really like the look and disregard it's already 3 years old, the car still looks like a brand new one. This proves that the paint job is of the top quality.
However, after we finished dinner at beverly hills, when my friend used the remote to open the door, The car stoped working. Then the air con stops working, the indicators stops working, the hand break light stops working. My god, even my 12 years old falcon has never done something like this. I reckon I should stay away from Mazda, at least Mazda 3.
The price, The look
Interior design, poor platics paint, bad quality

I've had a Maxx Sport for the last 3 years. It's a great car. The ride and handling is first class - good for city driving, but also fun out on the open road without being too harsh. The engine is a gem - tractable at low revs but can be worked to the redline without trying. I got the stability pack which assists with the safety, although you have to be trying fairly hard in wet conditions to get this to actuate. After replacing the tyres with new Dunlops the wet handling improved significantly. I am 6ft 6 and have found this to be a comfortabl...Read more
e car, although not able to fit a child capsule in behind me with the seat fully extended back. The lack of remote boot release is a real pain, and I'd like a full trip computer, but otherwise the car is great. Great handling. Fun to drive - really has zoom zoom. Stability control excellent. Comfortable. No remote release on boot. No trip computer. Stock tyres not great in the wet.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I love this car! This is my first Mazda and at this stage I can confidently say that I'd choose Mazda again. The car is a pleasure to drive.
I bought a Mazda 3 Maxx Sport Hatch a year ago and I absolutely love it. It has a 2.0 litre engine which gives the car a lot of guts so take off and acceleration is never sluggish. The dials and meters are all in the right place and the illumination of the dash at night - blue with red digits - is not only stylish but a better choice than the usual black and white configuration. I chose the hatch over th...Read more

Great zippy car
Review for the Maxx Sports version Awesome design, great power for its size, lots of room, nice interior. Sticks to the road well, great accel, and likes to be driven hard. Feels quite luxurious inside, reminicent of an AUDII with the red lights. The servicing from the Mazda guys is quite good and they wash your car for you aswell The seats fold down in a split style and give you plenty of room to carry long things and still have room for a 2nd passenger. Havn't had any problems yet at 20'000k
Zippy, tight manauvering, very comfortable, long enough to carry a 7 ft. surfboard,
A little noisy, heavy for a hatch, but looks so cool so don't care.

I purchased Mazda 3 last February 2006 and driving and performance wise is okay, but I have problem with the airconditon and a noisy radiator fan. The ride and handling is first class - good for city driving, but also fun out on the open road without being too harsh. The engine is a gem - tractable at low revs. I got the stability pack which assists with the safety, although you have to be trying fairly hard in wet conditions to have feel on my cars traction control not bad. nded back.no remote on boot release, but I love the stereo sound that helps me awake for long driving. For overall this car is must buy if you don't mind the aircondition. Nice handling, stereo sound is awesome good speaker as well, great looking design for sedan. Stability control excellent and this is great MAZDA 3 Maxx!!! The aircondition is not giving enough cold specially at summer we ask the service dealer and they said due to small compressor that Mazda 3 have, I don't like their aircondition to hot inside,no remote boot opener, fuel economy, noisy radiator fan (my Mazda is just almost 2years old)Similar opinion? Terrible
Just Ok, not what I expected to be. Drove ok and looks ok but really for a so called 'prestige brand' just did not live up to the standard. A lot better cars for the same money out there currently
Good looking but now very dated
Very Very noisy on the road and terrible looking dash and lights at night time. very distracting.

I recently test drove a number of cars in the mid-range. The Mazda 3 was by far the best in everything. The way it glides on the road. The huge 2 litre engine - I fill up with petrol less often. The safety features were a big plus for me. There are enough air bags for all passengers in the car - every in the back. And I was sold when I knew it had the port for my iPod - although most new cars have this feature now. One thing to keep in mind is that you can't control the iPod menu using the controls on the car - you still need to manage this on ...Read more
your iPod. Even to turn it off. I've many times assumed that by switching off the car, my iPod would automatically turn off (but it doesn't). The final thing is the speedometer - takes a while to get used to as the numbers are a lot lower, so you think you can go faster. Ecomonical. Glides on the road. And the port for my iPod. The speedometer can be sometimes hard to read.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I just bought a brand new 2008 Neo Sport model, it is so easy to parallel park, and drive in general. I have been having some trouble with the drivers seat, getting comfortable has been difficult, the drivers seat feels crooked, am putting it down to not being "broken-in" yet.
Great looking car, solid feel, japanese make
Tyre noise, for what I paid for it, I didn't think it would be loud at all. The key feels like it could break at any time, and opening the boot with the key is annoying, mostly because the key is a flip out key and is not very strong

Love the SP23, the only negative thing is that the boot is a bit small if you need to fit a decent baby pram in it. Otherwise I couldn't speak higher of the car, it's very stylish and pretty economical. The interior is well designed and the colours are actually nice (there are some horrible interior colours around on other cars). Oh I especially love the fact that I can plug my iPod into the car and listen to my downloaded music - saves taking all those CD's! So cool.
Great stylish look
Boot on the sedan is a bit small

I purchased a brand new SP23 model a little over 2 years ago now. I am very happy with my choice of vehicle as it has been nothing but a pleasure to drive. Am a little disappointed in having purchased a top of the range vehicle that it didn't come with cruise contol and was quoted $700 to have it put in by the Mazda dealership which I thought was a bit steep. At this stage it hasn't even developed any funny 'noises' or things which cars tend to develop over time. Admittedly, my kilometers are still low for a car which is over 2 years old.
Very stylish and great to drive.
Did not come with cruise control, having to open the boot with your key and for this model no MP3 player.

Apart from the cons listed above, this is actually a really nice car. I am glad I bought the SP23 as it is so much more aesthetically appealing. Drive nice and is really quite roomy. The boot is surprising large! It also has 3 anchor points for baby seats. A great car though!
I have had me Mazda 3 SP23 for over a year and a half and I am in love with the look of it. It is very stylish, smooth on the road - VERY NICE!

Am looking to sell car purely because seats are far too uncomfortable, like the look of the car, plenty of room in boot.
Stylish looks, value for money and hopefully good resale value.
Absolutely hate the seats, no lumbar support at all, very uncomfortable for long drives. Need key to open boot, bit annoying.

A great car. Although it's classed as "small" it drives like a large 6 CYL.
It's equally as good in city and freeway driving.
Excellent fuel economy 37-40mpg. Great safety items - ABS brakes/ 6 airbags etc, etc. Anti theft items include an engine immobiliser. Take-off and passing speed more than adequate when required. Virtually all "nice-to haves" are standard (except cruise control). The standard of finish is excellent.
When parked with the steering wheel in the straight ahead position the key-hole is difficult to find. The heater is relatively slow to warm up.

A great car for the price range. Fit and finish comparable to the euro's. Fuel economy is reasonable for a spritely motor, would be improved if the car was furnished with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Handling is great and if you like a spritely drive then this will put a smile on your face. Love the interior (it was what sold the car for me) and the exterior is quite contemporary and funky, no real need to modify anything other than the ride height (of that is your kind of thing) I have heard an SP23 with an aftermarket exhaust and thought it soun...Read more
ded rubbish, much prefer the stock sound. Finally consider the tyre size, the niche 17" tyres on this car mean that very few manufacturers make tyres in this range and therefore you are limited in choice and in price for tyres. Fit and finish is great for a car in this price range. Best interior in this price range, beats the Mk IV Golf, renault clio and viva/astra hands down. I own the leather pack and the 220W Bose stereo is to die fore, amazing sound quality, fantastic bass. Comfortably seats 4 adults over moderate distances and the safety credentials are impressive, containing no less than 6 airbags.Accomodates child seats easily as well.Handling is fantastic, very nuetral and tons of grip, steerings is responsive and turning circle is suprising for a front wheel drive car.Engine although nothing to really write home about, it has plenty of torque - almost too much for a front-wheel drive, reasonable fuel economy, I have averaged about 8.9 - 9.5L/100km/hr depending on how spirited I am being with my driving Gearbox in this thing is rubbish, in my opinion. The shift is rubbery and clunky, gate action is poor. Gearing is broad and often mismatched to needs, i.e. I do a lot of freeway driving and am often required to drop the car back into 3rd gear from 5th to overtake.Suspension crashes when front wheels loose traction.Road noise is significant at high speeds, although with the Bose stereo this is hardly noticeable ;) I also attribute a reasonable percentage to the grippy but expensive bridgestone Potenza 205/50 R17. Be warned, these tyres cost around $240 to replace (each!) and I would attribute at least 50% of the road noise to these tyres, they get louder as they wear, oh if you drive like me you'll be replacing a set of tyres every 30,000 Km's...Similar opinion? Well, a definite 5 star from me. The interior and exterior looks very sporty and drivers very well. I wouldn't mind if it could move faster on low speed though, but higher speed performance is great I thought (this is for a 2.3 SP23 auto)
Stating the obvious; it looks totally awesome... The performance is incredible swift for a small non-turbo charged car. Classy interior design, brilliant car if you like to overtake people on high speeds.
From 0-60km doesn't rev as well, but from 60-100 it revs very well... You get a lot of attention driving one... which can be a bad thing if you want to keep it at low profile :)

Overall love the car and the looks and it is a perfect size for a couple of kids! I guess no car is going to be exactly perfect.
Very stylish looking car and doesnt have a 'plastic' feel like a lot of the new cars. Bought the Maxx Sport but the base model is pretty good for the price. Love the seatbelt warnings just in case the kids unbuckle their seatbelts. Car is really roomy for a small sedan as well as the boot, and of course it is economical too.

Our 3 years with the Maxx Sport were trouble free and most enjoyable. My wife used the car for the school run daily, so it sustained the usual amount of punishment from the kids, and came out unscathed. The "Knight Rider" radio lights were a hit with the kids (and me when we test drove it), and the styling continues to impress 4 years after it was first released. A good little car that deserves the reputation it has built.
Residual value is the highlight for me, as we've just sold our 3 year old Maxx Sport for an amazing price. Value for money,...Read more

Overall Ive had no problems, it drives well, is very economical with fuel. My only problem was choosing a colour, I liked all of them but went with the phantom purple, but now I like the teal colour. oh well.
I like the sylish look and it has a nice feel about it when I drive it.
The back sits up a little high and me being a small person sometimes finds that it obstructs my rear veiw at times.
