My Mazda is Da Bomb!
I use my Mazda to get me from A to B on weekends and mu husband uses it for work during the week so it gets a workout! I love my Mazda 3 - it's just the size for me and I live the hatch back style. The boot is a good size and I like the look of the dashboard and the comfy seats. I wish it had built in sat nav but that will have to be my next car! I get it serviced yearly and I only had one very small oil leak issues once in 5 years.
Purchased in July 2021 at Mazda Dealers for $21,500.00.

The Downsides of the Mazda 3 2022 Model
Recently purchased the 2022 model Mazda 3 G25 GT thinking this vehicle was going to be the best car I have ever owned. I was wrong. While the vehicle has many good features, looks good and is kitted out with loads of technology, it is this technology which has really bugged me and in my opinion lets this vehicle down. I read another review stating that the Mazda Cruise Control was an issue, as it slams the brakes on when you get within a certain distance of another vehicle or when another vehicle enters a gap in front of you. Totally true. And ...Read more
for what its worth, the minimum gap this setting keeps you from a vehicle in front is way way too big. So you turn the Mazda Radar Cruise Control off. Solved. No. Mazda turns it back on every time you stop the engine. And it's like this for a number of settings. You can't get what you want ... just what Mazda says you'll have. Headlights as another example. If you make certain light settings you can no longer control your lights from the column switch. You have to go back into the settings menu and find the setting you need to give you control of simple functions such as turning your headlights on and off. And the list goes on. Maybe worst of all, this is an untrustworthy vehicle. Not unreliable ... untrustworthy. I would expect once you make a setting selection, that action would then occur whenever the setting situation arises. Not so. Seems with certain settings this vehicle makes it's own mind up as to what mood it's in and then chooses whether or not to follow the settings instructions. Biggest example is the auto lock of the vehicle when you leave the vehicle. Definitely don't trust this action to be completed. And for further reference, I approached Mazda Australia regarding some of these issues. Was advised a Case Officer had been assigned to look into the issues I raised and would report back to me within 1 week. That was over 3 months ago and cannot get a response from Mazda. So is this a good car ?? Depends on what you are looking for. If you want a car that gives you the ability to select options that you, not the manufacturer, wants and if you want a trustworthy car that does actually follow the instructions you select from the settings and if you want a car that doesn't continually frustrate you by having to go into the extensive settings menu to find a reselect the options you want from your car every time you turn the engine on, then the answer is NO.Purchased in July 2021.

Excellent Car
We brought it new. But it was a showroom model, so it had been used for test drives prior to us buying it. We use the car daily to and from work which is a round trip of 100kms. We also go shopping in it and on holiday with it. Furtherest we have taken it is 1000kms for a holiday and it handled like a dream on the motorway. We get it serviced every three months with Mazda (otherwise you lose the warranty) which is a bit annoying as sure we could get it serviced cheaper elsewhere. Had it for 14 months now and never had any mechanical issues with...Read more
it. We do have quite a basic model, and the only two downsides are no GPS and no reversing mirror. Me being a learning driver, finds the viability for reversing to be poor and even my husband who has been driving for over 30 years sometimes finds issues with this too without a reversing camera. But he says otherwise it is an excellent car. It is a very attractive car looks wise, looks quite sporty.Purchased in May 2021 at Mazda Dealers.

Great car for most purposes
We bought this car last November and found it very reliable. Powered by the 2 litre engine mated with the 6 speed auto it is a good combination. We regularly go to Sydney and today I used the paddle shifters on the steering wheel and by doing so it made the car far easier to drive when using cruise. Left in drive it would kick down 2 gears to keep the set speed which caused an uneasy feeling. When using the paddles I felt I had more control and the car was able to be kept in the ‘sweet’ spot.
As for the rest of the car, the radio reception is ...Read more

Best Car we have owned
Used for shopping, travels, visiting and around town. Never ever misses a beat. Serviced every 10K and both my wife and I feel special every time either of us are in the drive seat. 6 speed auto is smooth as, power for the 2Litre is Zoom Zoom as they say, and all area's of this car are very well thought out. Paid 24K for the car new and we both Love it.

Great car, let down by some of the gadgets
Purchased a 2022 Mazda 3 BP G20 Pure in August 2022 after test driving. Beautiful car for looks, finish exterior and interior and comfort. As advertised the Noise Vibration & Harshness have been quite considerably reduced over previous models. To me, the car doesn't feel as sure footed as the BL series Mazda 3 I traded in.
The only items I find annoying are the Mazda Radar Cruise Control and Lane Keep-Assist.
The Mazda radar cruise control over reacts and feels like the car has gone into crash stop when another car changes lanes in the gap ahe...Read more

Always wanted to own a Mazda
My retirement present, my first ever brand new car. A Mazda 3, SP 25 silver hatch. A great looking car with sleek lines and modern sporty feel. We live in a regional area 2 hours from any city and travel a lot, the car was comfortable and had plenty of power for overtaking those log trucks etc. We did find that the body panels on the Mazda were quite thin and if you leaned on the side of the car or bonnet they would flex inwards easily. We had all the regular services done at the correct, recommended time and were surprised that the car st...Read more
arted to use a bit of oil after the first couple of services. When asking about this we were told repeatedly that it could be expected, sorry I don't expect a brand new car to use oil. The tyres supplied with the car were not so good on the open road however after we replaced them with new tyres the car held the road a lot better. The accessories were good, great sound system/radio etc, Navigational System okay but not entirely up to date however this may be the fault of the road limits always changing on Tasmanian roads due to a large amount of road work being undertaken. Good heater and air-con, seat comfort could be better. Economy really good especially on the open road and lots of info for comparing and checking stats. After sales service for the Mazda through the dealer Sales Team was a bit lack lustre however the actual Service Department always delivered on time. All in all we feel that the Mazda was okay but not as good as we had imagined it would be. We traded after 2 years.Purchased in May 2021 at Mazda Dealers.

Lovely car
I drive a lot and was looking for something comfortable and economical - I have had my car now for 3 years and nothing has ever gone wrong with it. The sound system is great as are the seats etc.
The only issue I have with it is the road noise however understand it is not an $80,000+ car!

Adore this car! Heavenly to drive
We have a long commute each morning and afternoon, and wanted a car that would be fuel-efficient, very comfortable, spacious throughout, enjoyable to drive, and wouldn’t cost a fortune. We could not be happier with our purchase! It has everything we need and more. We’re very impressed with how they’ve designed it to have plenty of space in the front and the back (and the trunk), even though it’s only considered a mid sized car.
Once we’d decided on a Mazda 3, we still were undecided whether to get a Maxx, Maxx sport, Touring or SP25 but purc...Read more
hased this car (SP25) as it had all the features we were after and was in run out so we got a fantastic price for a brand new 2022 model. If we were making the decision to buy a car all over again we would definitely buy this exact vehicle. We’ve previously owned a 2007 Mazda 3 Maxx, which was super reliable and never let us down even though we had nearly 240,000 km on it. If this car lasts that long again and continues running as beautifully as it has been, we’ll be buying Mazda for the rest of our lives. The interior feels sleek and modern, the safety and warning features are exactly as we expect, the built in entertainment/navigation system has everything we need and connects perfectly to our phones every time without having to push any buttons. Using our phones for hands-free calls, receiving texts, or listening to music on Spotify is super easy. With newer features like pushbutton start, keyless entry, electronic parking brake, and i–stop, I’d been a little concerned about upgrading from our old car and having to deal with ‘unnecessary’ technology, but now I’d never look back.Purchased in July 2021.

Exceeding Expectations
My Mazda 3 is used daily commuting to work and back. This car has never skipped a beat and delivers more than I had expected, especially with it holding a low price tag compared to other vehicles in its class. It may not be the quickest car, but it's fun to drive....

Runs well and very economic.
I travel 1500Km's a week in this for work use, on all types of roads.
The car is in use at least 8 hours a day 7 days a week and is serviced every 15000kms.
The car is great on fuel only 6L/100km average.
Paint work needs improvement as there has been chipping that Mazda refused to repair within the first 12 months because they said it was caused by bird poo despite the car being washed once a fortnight.
Purchased in August 2021 at Mazda Dealers for $23,000.00.

Radio text - has anyone had any success with getting the radio text feature turned on? The feature is there & radio text is displayed when the park brake is on, but as soon as you deactivate the park brake the option goes away, siting its a safety issue to display the text. Yet when using Apple CarPlay you can see all the text you want & can navigate around all the settings & apps while travelling at 110kms.

Sounds like another "option" Mazda provides that doesn't allow any actual options to be selected ... you can only have what Mazda says you can have ?? But I haven't used this setting, so am only assuming it behaves like other "Mazda Options" which give you no options, similar to a number of settings I have used on the Mazda 3 that behave in this manner.
Yep, it certainly seems that way. Poor form Mazda. I had a 2017 Mazda 3 which I LOVED & only traded-in because I thought I was upgrading when the next gen came out. I am now regretting that decision. So many features I had in my previous Mazda are now unavailable in my new one. Its so frustrating. I feel like Im being treated like a moron who is incapable of making decisions about their driving experience. I love driving but I am not enjoying driving this car. This will no doubt be my last Mazda.

I have a mazda 3 2013 model. When I got my car I payed for the paint protection now 6 years have passed and half of my car is peeling and Mazda will not touch it as they say its due to bird poo and chips and general dirt . My whole roof is almost white and not in patches either and my door handle and my bonnet. I do not even believe they done anything paint protection at all - Does anyone know how I can get my car tested to see if if it was indeed put on my car or not?
1 answer
Hi Kylie, I did some online research for you and from the general chat all I get is that modern paint on cars should not need extra protection anyway and it is only sold as an added extra to make us spend more...yes we got it too, so going on this I would say that your car paintwork was not up to scratch originally and Mazda are avoiding the issue by blaming you. I don't know how you proceed from here except by saying to Mazda that every car on the road that is 6 years old should look like yours if the dirt etc is the reason your paintwork has deteriorated so badly and that it is about time these manufacturers stood by their products and looked after their customers. Good luck.

I forgot to add that Android Auto is a waste of space in the current configuration, you get more from the Mazda Connect system via Bluetooth than AA linked by cable and no way to edit what is available.
