Sutherland Mazda Kirrawee
In June 2022 I purchased a Nissan Murano from Sutherland Mazda Kirrawee NSW. As I live over 8 hours away everything was done over phone and email and the car was picked up on a truck and delivered to me.
When the car arrived the truck driver had to jump start the car to even get it off the truck, this was not a great start for me. Had I of picked it up in person I assure you I wouldn’t have bought the car without the battery being replaced.
Ended up purchasing a new battery, obviously.
I also had Sutherland Mazda install DVD players and do wi...Read more

Wanna add value ... think harder
Copying features from other European Car manufacturers is not called innovation and is very poor for a Japanese originator. This seems to be a trend with at least a couple of car brands I have noticed. They copy an idea from another dealer and charge an arm and a leg .... calling it cutting technology. You need to think harder to add real value.

I'd rate 0 stars if I could
On their website, Tweed Coast Mazda state they “go above and beyond to ensure that our clients are always happy" and “Our team is genuinely interested in making sure that you are more than satisfied with your pre-loved vehicle from the time of purchase and after".
However my experience has been that if you want to be pressured into buying a car which hasn’t been checked properly and then treated as if you don’t exist, by all means deal with Tweed Coast Mazda. Otherwise avoid them at all costs.
I purchased a used vehicle from them in Decemb...Read more
er 2022 and during the process felt considerable pressure from the salesman and wasn’t told until after I’d signed that there was no cooling off period. When I went to pick up the car, I was unable to drive it away because the instrument cluster was so splattered that it was unreadable. This was rectified the next day, however it amazes me that no one had noticed this when doing a final check of the car (it wasn’t like this when I had a test drive) Next issue was that the key battery was flat. I had identified this on my test drive and had been assured that the battery had been replaced. Obviously this didn’t happen as a few days after getting the car I was left stranded because the key did not have enough battery power to open the door.Similar opinion? Hopeless. In every sense of the word.
Never do anything they say they will do. Dealer misrepresented themselves and what they’re selling. Mazda Australia trying to contact them and get a resolution- Don’t even bother. After 4 phone calls with promises of calls back I still haven’t received on. I have to keep contacted them. Still no results.

Excellent service from Ringwood Mazda Victoria
So grateful to Ringwood (Vic) Mazda this morning when I turned up without an appointment concerned about engine light being on from time to time. Alison King in the Service Dept immediately took my car to a technician who spent 30 minutes carrying out diagnostic checks. The service manager provided me with a detailed account of why the light was one from time to time, apparently very normal. There was no cost for this check up. So appreciative for the peace of mind, prompt response and excellent service. Could not recommend this dealership enough. A BIG THANK YOU from Jan

what sale
a large sign out the front of Mornington Madza said SALE, so i went in to get a price. the car i wanted was CX5 Touring with a recommended retail price of $43,740 but they told me it was $44,000. i hate to think of the price they would charge if it wasn't on sale. at no time did they try to make a deal.

Mazda 3, hatch still off the road for 8 weeks
My daughter's new Mazda 3 was bought at Toowong Mazda April 2022. 8 weeks prior to xmas after parking up the vehicle it would not start. Leaving the car stationary briefly it started again. 2 days later upon moving from a stationary position at a busy intersection the vehicle just stopped in the middle of longs road. Since then the vehicle has been at the dealership and the fault remains in the vehicle. Mazda Australia are involved and my recent calls have not been returned. It is one thing to give my daughter a replacement vehicle to drive whi...Read more
lst the fault is assessed but it is another thing how long must a customer wait for a fault to be rectified. From a risk prospective is it not time to say let's just replace the vehicle with another car.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Paintwork warranty
I am very dissapointed with your diagnosis of contamination on my car bonnet paintwork and not covering my paintwork I find it interesting that I have no issues of paint peel on any other areas of my car and the first paint peel started within 6 months of purchasing the car

City Mazda Melbourne CBD
Avoid this company if you can, it has been annually without fail a hassle with them.
I have been having issue after issue with City Mazda ever since I signed the contract to buy the car,
1. from wrongly captured details (more than once).
2. To problems with sales staff affecting my delivery
3. To Delivery issues.
4. Yearly servicing issues (no reminder because of wrongly captured details more than once!).
5. Promises to rectify servicing issues which were not fixed.

Really poor service
Previously I've had no complaints. This service they recommend the safety stop test for an extra $12. Agreed to the extra cost only to be told I need a wheel alignment but the didn't have time to do this. They had my car for over 8 hours but didn't "have time" to do the alignment as 75 cars were booked in this day. They told me they could book me in for about 3 weeks time or I could take my car to a tyre place. Such poor service. Maybe they could book less cars in so they could fully finish the cars they have. Definitely avoid my gravatt Mazda!

Paint Finish Very Bad on Mazdas
The 2 Mazdas I've owned from new and well maintained and Garaged have had the paint finish deteriorate only after approx. 5 years from new. I made it a priority when I bought the latest Mazda to check with Mazda that I would not have a problem with the paint finish. They definitely reassured me I would have no issue with paint finish! He was wrong. I reported this issue with Mazda on several occasions but they did they nothing. The issue is that I cannot sell the car at a fair price because the paint finish has faded badly only after 5 years. Beware of the Paint Finish on Mazdas.

Mazda 3 purchase
Deciding between Mazda 3and Toyoto corolla was major decision for us. Michael Chuan at Mazda provided clear and unbiased advice. He was direct, honest in his comments and considerate in his very professional approach. Did not feel pressurised and very happy with our purchase experience.

BT50 OWNERS READ THIS REVIEW
Got a 70,000 km service done here on my BT50.
We are from interstate, so was unfamiliar with the dealer.
Booking was great, well organised, easy and professional.
But unfortunately, all down hill from there.
Dropped the vehicle off early, difficult interface with girl on desk, hard to get her to understand technicalities.
Also tried to flog a brake test for twenty dollars, which other dealers include. Incidentally, they say it checks wheel alignment which is crap. I used to operate the same machine. Ask them to provide toe in and caster and camber figures if you get sucked in to it. They wont be able to....Read more

The servicing scams continue
Yet again our Mazda agent tries to scam a customer. Not the usual 'optional wheel alignment fee' pushed hard (they should advise you if uneven tire wear indicates alignment issue). This time, the wife takes in low km car for 3 yr/30k service (ie service whichever is first, 3 yrs or 30k, simple really). Told she didn't need more expensive service 30k service just a cheaper 'interim' service. I rang back and said no, I want the 3yr/30k service and was immediately given it without argument. Why? in 3 months they would have called and said we are...Read more
late on the 3 yr service so need to bring in the car to keep the warranty. Nice trick and I bet the make serious money on that scam. Bloody Mazda dealers trying to claw back money because of the 12 month service interval as opposed to the 6 month one which brought more money to dealers.Similar opinion? Absolute Rip-Off
It is very difficult to know that staff took advantage of unknowledgeable first time car buyer by providing retail price of CX3 at 15% rate for 7Years! It is almost a joke to our friends and family!
Unfortunate to know how some Sales people can disgustingly be so hungry for money to charge as such!
We are now almost 4Years in and still owing $18000 on a $23000 retails cost of the car!
We got our range rover at 1.8% rate!
This will mean that by the time Finance is finished we would have paid $48776 i wonder where does the difference of $25776 really go to?!

My experience with Mazda and their dealer GARRY AND WARREN SMITH
Sharing my experience with Mazda and their dealer GARRY AND WARREN SMITH.
This is not a reflection on Mazda as an organisation nor is it on their cars in fact I have been an advocate for Mazda for a very long time, having driven their Mazda 3 sedan for over half a decade.
On the fine Saturday morning of 07th September 2022 I with my family visited the GARRY AND WARREN SMITH MAZDA dealership with a clear intention of buying MAZDA CX9 AZAMI LE. I had been researching and deliberating the various aspects including the price factor and the version...Read more

Don't buy A Mazda!
Bought my Mazda from Parkland Mazda. The sales staff were OK, but then again, we were spending $36K in cash... just wait until you have to deal with the service department though. Parkland Mazda's service department shall go down in history as Australia's worst and yes, I have read Pamela's post about Penrith Mazda. No doubt, Pamela hasn't had the 'privilege' of dealing with Parkland over here in the west but perhaps she should, if she ever gets her car serviced well enough to make it over. Parkland Mazda's service department also think it's...Read more
a funny game to request multiple revisits to fix one simple problem but unfortunately for me, it's a 60km round trip. It is here that I must make special mention of Deb Buttridge. On one of my numerous (though fruitless) calls to the 'service' department I heard her complain that I had the audacity to actually call and see how things were 'progressing' (obviously they weren't). I overheard her in the background saying, "She has already rang TWICE!". Anyway, after being fobbed off and leaving the car with them for 5 hours, still no joy. By this time, I was in tears and I was told I needed to book it in for 2 days and they would give me a courtesy car. My husband rang later and got a guy who sounded a little more professional. The professional (no doubt, not associated with the regular service dep't), said that a two day appointment was pointless because they don't know how to fix the sat-nav problem I was experiencing. Right now, I'm seriously considering the trade-in value of the heap of rubbish. Wish me luck, because I'm definitely going to need it. :). Should have stuck with Toyota as they were awesome.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

How did Mazda Australia or the dealership resolve those issues? Did anyone successful get a refund on the grounds of major fault of the Australian consumer Law?
2 answers
Hey Stan,
Unfortunately MAZDA Australia is dragging their feet.
I have a case manager who is less than helpful and have unfortunately needed to seek legal advice due to their lack of action.
MAZDA Australia have inspected the vehicle and I’ll include an extract of their email.
“We advise that the FTS completed an inspection of the vehicle which included a road test and no abnormalities were found during this inspection. The FTS did however record the following:
LHR seatbelt does not always retract properly. Recommend belt to be replaced.
Osram 60 Watt HB3 Bulbs fitted to High Beam headlamp, GE Brand 55 Watt H11 fitted to vehicle Low Beam headlamp. These are aftermarket headlamps with correct specification for vehicle, but they are not OEM fitment.”
I have contacted my local Dealership and have scheduled a full day with an out of town dealership for them to assist me as the local dealership is in my opinion doing little to nothing to assist or resolve the issue.
I have also recently had additional issues that were brought to the attention of my local dealership within the last week and were agreed to be an issue however, were dismissed a matter of minutes later being “normal operation” without a formal inspection taking place.
If you choose to buy a MAZDA, keep in mind what I have indicated when things go wrong.
Thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately I have already gone down that road of buying a Mazda. I'm currently dealing with multiple electronic failures that comes up randomly and sometimes causing power steering and other safety features to lose functionality while driving. I have asked for a refund last year, but they blamed it on a 3rd party dashcam. However since then, they have disconnected the dashcam but the issue still came back. I have asked for a full refund but I do not think I will get a straight answer that they have transferred the money to my bank account.

I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5 diesel AWD, I paid $942 for 4 new tyres at 60,000kms, had my car serviced today at 94,000kms and have been told the tyres are unroadworthy, how is that possible after 34,000 kms, I’m a female and take it very easy and mainly drive just around town. Has anybody else had to replace their tyres this often? Is this due to them not being rotated at every 10,000km service?

I asked a 2015 Plate Mazda at Werribee Mazda. and in fact, they give me a 2014 made year and 2014 compliance certificate car. the 2015 plate was written on contract. I realised it after I drove the 2014 car for 2 years. It was my first car! what do I do? This evil car dealer.

Rebecca, I suppose that it's 'caveat emptor' in your case.
What did you mean when you said 'plate'. How they took it, deliberately or otherwise, your request for a certain dated plate could have been interpreted as being first registered in that year. There are many, if not all, cars - not just Mazda vehicles - sell well into the year after its build date, particularly if there has been no change in the model and sales are slow. It doesn't make them worse cars and shouldn't, in theory, bother a buyer when you decide to change yours - at least to buyers who know what they're doing.
When it comes to selling the car, Rebecca, anyone worth their salt will have done a bit of research on the car they desire to purchase. By doing that they will have found that a particular build date, say, week 50 of 2014 was no different to that built on say, week 20 of 2015, and thus concentrate on the condition of the vehicle. Anyone fancying buying a 2015 car that is identical to a 2014 car but is showing evidence of harsh usage and poor maintenance is just being silly.
Keep a record of your services and keep a log book. Any discerning buyer will be interested and swayed by those.
Don't worry, be happy.
Cheers,
John
Thank John for your time and explanation.
Hi Rebecca,
It's common some cars are 2014 built although 2015 compliance. It would be good note for yourself in the future that you ask specifically for a 2015 built vehicle.
In the event that you signed the original contract for a new car, you would notice it doesn't have any VIN number or Engine number along with built and compliance details.
It is always a good to ask if car is in stock or ETA of delivery. If the vehicle is in Australia request to have details up front before going into the dealer and signing delivery.
Also note if your purchasing a new vehicle generally first quarter of the year, you don't always get the same year built vehicle.
In the future if you were to sell/trade the car, of course the year of the vehicle contributes to the price and along with condition, maintaince etc...
