The best for ever
Fantastic car! Purchased from a dealer in 2013 with 69,000km on the clock now at 97,000, In that time serviced it twice at a total cost of $600, extremely practical with rear seats folding flat can fit a timber 180cm long tv unit, or go camping and sleep in the rear, great looks 10 years later, and zero breakdowns. 700+km per tank have had over 900km on a tank on the highway also, also good safety and features even today.

A great Mazda to rival the Euros.
This new GJ Mazda 6 is a huge knockout from Mazda. I'd previously owned the first series Mazda 6 and loved it, but it always felt just a tad underdone in terms of refinement and feel.
But the new GJ is a great car. I love the Wagon version of the 6, it has a real Audi/European, muscular design to it. Much more mature than the more cartoonish GG/GY version. Inside is just as fantastic, Mazda's interior has that European minimalism to it, with a beautiful fit and finish that belies its price range. It feels very BMW/Audi inside, it's a very nic...Read more
e place to be. A minor gripe about the Series 1 GJ interior are the side pockets for the doors. If you could call them that. They're just long, cylindrical bottle holders. The Series 2 now has proper side pockets. To drive, it's very comfortable, effortless, refined. Previous Mazda 6s have been a bit lacking in noise and vibration refinement, but this new Mazda 6 is leaps ahead. The ride quality is excellent, on the base model's 17 inch rims anyway. The 19s you get with the upper model do detract from the ride and make it a bit busy and jiggly. A real winner in my books too are the standard, steering wheel mounted, paddle shifts. This car has real ability to be driven hard, and the paddle shifts mean you can really take advantage of what this car can do. Stick it in Sport and away you go, the car will hold gears for you and won't shift up. You can also use the paddle shifters while in Drive as well. Very useful to just be able to tap down a couple of gears and go, rather than stomping your foot and hoping you gave it enough to jump down the gears you wanted. This is the 'base' model too, but it's stacked. Dual Zone Climate Control, Cruise Control, Sat Nav, Bluetooth, Traction Control, Stop/Start mode. Fuel economy has been very good, about 8.4L/100km with mostly city driving. With more Highway driving I've seen it hit 6.9L/100km. It now also only requires 91 RON instead of minimum 95 like the previous verisons. Running costs are fine for now, no faults, although $320 per service is a bit rich. At least it's only once a year. The boot space is fantastic too and is why I bought the Wagon. About 510L which is way above most SUVs in the same price category. It's more versatile too, flat loading space, bag hooks, metal tie-down points for a cargo net. It even has a retractable net that goes from the back of the back seats up to the ceiling to wall off the boot from the rest of the car when it's fully packed. It even comes standard with Roof Racks to put your skies on and hit the slopes with. Which I don't, because I live in the tropics. In all this is a real leap forward in terms of quality, design and engineering for Mazda. This car deserves to be cross-shopped with VWs, Audis, Merc, Volvo and the like. And it really holds its own. The rest of the Japanese and Korean competition really needs to step up its game if they want to take the fight to Mazda. Plain and simple, it's a nice car to look at, it's versatile and a nice place to be inside and drive, however you like/want to drive your car. And isn't that really all of what most of us are looking for from a car?

Madza Man
I've owned & driven 4 Mazda cars. First the Mazda 323 Astina then Mazda follow by the Mazda CX 7 and now the new Mazda 6 GT. It's a fantastic car that offers the driving power and great handling performance. I love sporty looking car, the Mazda 6 has it all, yet it still offers you the comfort with it's luxurious and spaces interiors. The fuel consumption is very efficient which helps in minimizing the running costs. Zoom Zoom Zoom.

Great 2013 Mazda 6 Diesel Atenza
Bought a blue reflex 2013 Diesel Atenza in September 2013 after 10 weeks in back order but it was worth it. This is my second 6 and we still keep the 1st one, the 2008 copper red Sport Luxury. Both are great cars. Love the Diesel Atenza's torque, grip, comfort and fuel economy. No issue with the engine's DPF as rumoured a few months ago. I rarely drove it on the highway for long though. Whether Mazda has fixed it ultimately, I am not sure.
For those who are looking for mid size sedan, the new Mazda 6 is highly recommended.
Torque, grip, comfo...Read more

2013 Diesel Touring Wagon
Got an ex-demo in Soul Red. Love the car. Well appointed, great features and quality build. Bose sound system is great Looks fantastic. Still turns my head 6 months after I bought it. Great value for money.
Very few complaints. The ride can be a bit jarring. The phone hookup feature that should read SMS's from your phone cannot cope with an iPhone (which I find amazing - not exactly an uncommon phone!)
Overall very happy.
Build quality, looks, stereo, fuel economy, value for money
Jarring ride; phone features

Hi Kian:
I don't own a GJ mazda 6 but i watched many reviews and all the car review people claim this car is a good car because it handles well, very safe and also good fuel economy. If you don't mind a long family sedan then i think you can't go wrong with the 6. However i helped my friend purchase a CX5 and in my opinion dollar to dollar the CX5 is better value because the boot is more practical and a bit shorter in length so parking a bit easier than the 6 but you don't really sacrifice a lot of room inside the car with the CX5. Hope this helps and good luck!
Thank you C.Liu for your response.
My 6 GJ just went to 100K a few days ago. The only and common issue is the "front lower control arms - rear bushes" need to be replaced. Does not affect the handling, but will get some noise when u go through the speed hump at a low speed. Solid chassis and smooth transmission. Combination fuel consume is 7.8L

Mazda 6 2016 SPORTS Sedan difficult to get into on drivers side has any one else had the same problem?
1 answer
I found this but the seat has two settings. When it is set for me I still have to get over the side contour which holds you in the seat firmer when driving. When the wife sets the seat for her and I get into the seat, I hit my head sometimes on the door opening. I would suggest setting your seat lower if you can and remember that the seat is designed that way to keep you from sliding around like a sports seat should. Otherwise I don't mind it because I am aware a bit more effort is needed when entering the driver's seat. Hope this helps.

ind the economy is nowhere near the claimed economy especially on highway driving. Also the stereo is a disgrace and shouldn't be sold in any vehicle as it does not work as it should. cheers Simon
